These three ladies are extremely important to our school. They give
many hours of their free time to work with the cheerleaders. This in
turn, assures us that our football and basketball teams will get the
proper support.

The Boys Varsity Cheerleading squad have had an extremely

prosperous year! After attending gymnastics and various

cheerleading camps over the summer these girls have really

improved. The cheerleaders worked long, hard hours on what they

enjoy doing most - Cheering! They worked well together

perfecting each cheer. Five year sponsor, Maxine Rudder says,

"We are all like a family, caring and striving to reach our goal-

to be successful in supporting the Laurel County Football and

The girls varsity cheerleading squad was made up of five

very industrious young ladies even though previous experience

was lacking when try-outs were over and the lucky five picked,
these talented girls had the courage to tackle the problems fac-
ing a new squad. Along with their sponsor Debbie Felts, these
girls have traveled a long road and have made stupendous
improvements.

Principal's Message
It has been my pleasure to be a part of Laurel County Hip
School for many years. I am extremely proud of the stud,nlS,
faculty and staff that I have known because of my role as priJIo
cipal. I hope that each of you appreciate the quality of the people
and programs that are available to you.
Always remember that high school is not a place for regrets,
not a spot where life slides us by; it is a place where students.,.
not just a part of its vitality; they are its life. Be involved wid
your cTassmates - participate in the school's varied activities-
never, never say school spirit is for someone else, because you and
your companions are the only reason why our high school stands.
For those of you who are seniors, I would like to think that some
how your years at Laurel County High School have provided y'"
with memories that will last for the remainder of your life. If w~
the faculty, and you, our graduates, have touched one another.
even slightly, with a little sentiment and a bit of intellect and a lot
of wisdom, then our lives are ever so enriched by just having

known one another.

Fondly and with best wishes always,

- Hello World-

It has been said that to a high school student your senior
year is the greatest! That last year of high school gives you a
touch of pride that nothing could take the place of. Seniors
know they have accomplished twelve years of hard studying,
different teachers and classmates, cramming for that certain
test, and just plain everyday growing pains.

It truly is a magical year, but also an extremely sad one.
Senior year means opening up to a new world with many sad
goodbyes. It means leaving our high school days behind and
looking for broader horizons.

This year's seniors were among the finest in the history of
Laurel County High School. They strived to do their best in
everything. It will be a sad occasion to see them go.
