The Latin Club is a service organization for the Latin Classes. It raises money to
buy materials for Latin class that can not be acquired in any other way. It also is
involved in activities which the members enjoy. This past year the club attended
the World's Fair, had a Christmas pizza party and had an end of the year party.
Also the Latin Club spent one day in the spring at the Junior High School to ac-
quaint the 9th graders with the class so that they could decide whether to sign up

Laurel County High School has only one member of Maxine Rudder, Todd Cheever
the Swim Team. Even though there is only one member,
Todd Cheever has done an excellent job of representing •
L.C.H.S. •
Todd competed in the Central Kentucky Regional
High School Swim Meet. He placed 9th in the 500 yard
freestyle and 5th in the 100 yard butterfly.
Todd prepared for the competition by swimming
3,000-5,000 yards a night, five times a week. He prac-
ticed all 4 competitive strokes: freestyle, butterfly, back-
stroke, and breaststroke. Todd started training in early
November with a lot of long-distance training.
Mrs. Rudder is Todd's sponsor and she says that if
L.C.H.S. had a large Swim Team, she would be de-
lighted to sponsor it also.

PSALM 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me
beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of
righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I
will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff
they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine
enemies; thou annointest my head with oil, my cup runneth
over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my
life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
