GlaxoSmithKline, Ulverston, Cumbria
GlaxoSmithKline in Ulverston added a fantastic new Matterhorn
Plus Mountain Tower to their play area, upgrading their existing
Playdale equipment which had been there for over 15 years.
They wanted to update the play area with something more modern
and Playdale’s Matterhorn Plus was the perfect fit. They also
upgraded the swings and added some fast-paced Movers equipment
to create an exciting playground for children to enjoy.
The end result was fantastic and it is has breathed new life into the
play area that is a popular destination for families in the area.
Michael Wagstaff, Project Manager at GlaxoSmithKline, said: “We’re
really happy with the project, it looks really good. It’s manufactured
to a high standard and the children really enjoy playing on it.”

Our distributor in the United Arab Emirates
managed the installation of a Playdale
i.play system at the Double Tree by Hilton
Hotel on Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah
in the United Arab Emirates. There are a
number of pieces of Playdale equipment
already installed and enjoyed at this site
and they were looking for a new exciting
addition to cater for a wide age range.
Playdale’s intelligent, electronic play
system; the i.play, was presented and
suggested to the hotel’s management
team as they wanted to have some unique
recreational equipment in the hotel.
The i.play was the first electronic outdoor
playground unit that has revolutionised
the outdoor play industry. It is visionary,
revolutionary, healthy and represents a
significant breakthrough in outdoor play.
It combines interactive electronics with
conventional playground equipment and its main
aim was to break the vicious cycle of sedentary
behaviour associated with electronic games.
Since its installation it has been attracting
a lot of attention from intrigued guests.
It appeals to and is suitable for children
and adults alike. The i.play makes physical
activity exciting, fun and sociable.
