Choose from units with attached lids, reusable lids, hinged lids, or,
unattached lids packed separately.
All cassette products can be packaged in plastic tubes, or taped and
stacked for automatic printers.
Our Tek-Select® cassettes are made of high quality polymer that are
chemical resistant and allow for uniform fluid exchange. Cassettes
are available in a variety of colors.
Tek-Select® Type 2 Cassette
Tek-Select® Type 2 Cassette. Disposable plastic tissue cassettes are suitable for holding and identifying tissue samples
in processing, embedding, and sectioning procedures. The cassettes fit securely in microtome chuck adapters. They
are molded from a high density polymer that is totally resistant to the chemical action on histological solvents. These
cassettes are designed to accept reusable metal lids and will keep specimens in complete safety during processing.
The slanted writing surface accepts markings easily, permitting sample identification throughout all stages of
embedding and long afterwards when in archives.

The DissecTable™ Board is made from high density, thick, stain resistant
polyethylene for years of use without bending, swelling or changing shape. A drain
trough is provided around the edge of the board to contain fluids. This dissecting
board offers large scales printed on one side and two smaller layouts on the other
side. The scales measurement centimeters from one corner and inches from the
other corner. The printed circle pattern shows 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14mm and 1/8”, 1/4”,
5/16”, 3/8”, ½”, 5/8”diameters. The side with one large layout printed also includes a
60 x 80mm grid. Board dimensions are 575 x 400 x 12.5mm (23”x 15”x ½”).
The heavy-duty DissecTable™ Base with rubber feet is used to elevate the
DissecTable™ board to the proper height, provide more stability for the board and
collect any run-off that may escape the board trough. Bases are stackable to adjust

Davidson’s Fixative Solution
Davidson's solution is a rapid fixative. It is particularly useful for preparing tumors, bone EMBEDDING
marrow specimens, gynecologic material, fatty breast, and medical biopsies. It may be used
for testicular biopsies and for overnight fixation of fat containing lymph nodes. In addition,
Davidson Solution is the preferred fixative for whole eyes, which provides optimal tissue
preservation while avoiding retinal detachment. 31

Formalin concentrate is a convenient way to prepare a solution of 10%
Neutral Buffered Formalin by just adding water (deionized). This method

IMEB Microtome Knife Sharpening Service & CRYOTOMY
Sharpening and reconditioning of steel knives is carried out on a professional Microtome Knife
Sharpener. The IMEB Knife Sharpener and reconditioning method does not grind away the large
bevel generated by much resharpening. If you want the bevel removed, please send your knife first to
a machine-shop for surface grinding.
IMEB, Inc. can then accept it for sharpening.Note, however, that removal of much metal can, on some
knives, expose softer metal which may sharpen but will not hold an edge for very long. Such knives are 41
best replaced.
We sharpen all standard steel knives - profile “A”, “B”, and “C”. Occasionally,
“A” and “B” knives are received which have been sharpened by others like
a “C” profile knife. It is usually impossible to restore the original profile and
they can be reshapened only as a “C” knife.Otherwise, your satisfaction is
guaranteed and orders receive prompt attention.For safety, please ship
knives only in properly fitted containers. DO NOT send backs, handles, and
stropping devices.
