Work for a Cause…not Applause.
Live life to Express…not to Impress.
As the sun kissed the mist of the wintry morning on Day 1 of the New
Year, with temperatures plummeting to record lows; it is our fiery
spirits added with new resolutions that keep us forging ahead. New
vigour, new goals, with the learning of yesteryears seal all doubts of
achieving what we have sought our eye upon. Keeping up with the
culture of our school, this year too is packed with activities in both
scholastic and co-scholastic domains to sharpen our learners’ aptitude as
well as attitude to help them carve a niche in the competitive world.
As learners geared up for their upcoming board examinations, revision
classes and individual sessions were carefully planned to ensure that each
learner gains from the classes and is able to take at least one step
forward in realizing his/her potential to score remarkable results.
Our international collaborations will see newer bonds and strengthened
collateral learning liaisons with our partner schools Learners will be
visiting our German partner school June-July’19 and another group to
US in the first week of June’19. Besides adding to their learning curve
and know-how about the culture and tradition of the country; learners
get to become more independent in terms of handling their belongings,
finances, connecting with new people away from home.
Competitions make us realize our potentials and give us an insight into
what we ‘can’ do, helping us becoming better and fuller. Lotus Valley
believes in giving ample opportunities to our learners through which they
bring out their best self. Inter–House, Inter-School, Intra-School, Sports,
Music, Dance, Performing Arts, Debates…the list is endless. Such
platforms foster the confidence of learners in addition to giving them a
peep into their inner capabilities.
Let us give wings to our flight and surmount newer heights. Let us
resolve to partake all experiences of life as learning and turn them into
opportunities.
Rejoicing the journey of walking together, learning together and rejoicing
together, wishing you all a great year ahead!
Stay Blessed and Happy Reading!
Martin Luther King Jr said, “The
function of education is to teach one
to think intensively and to think
critically. Intelligence plus character-
that is the goal of true education.”So
many years down the lane we still
endeavour to build an educational
community that serves the purpose of
this tenet.
I extend my heartiest congratulations
to Lotus Valley International School,
Gurugram for bringing out yet
another edition of the e- magazine. A
journey of excellence encapsulating
multifarious experiences,
achievements, aspects of school life Ms. Shayama Chona
Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan
hitherto unknown accolades and
bouquets gathered together and
lovingly laid out in this beautiful
testimony of every school’s existence.
enriching 2019-20.
Under the guidance and leadership of the principal Ms Anita Malhotra,
I am aware of the excellent work that is being done in the school. The
students have been pushing the boundaries of achievement and the
excellent faculty is committed to offer them the best guidance and
support. I am sure this edition of the e- magazine will be able to
communicate the buzz and vibrance of the school year gone by, and
reflect the creativity and aspirations of its students.
Yet another year of our children’s exemplary achievements and
astounding creativity unfolds in the magazine. I would like to extend
my best wishes and love to the students of grade XII as they appear for
the board examinations and prepare themselves to take new challenges
in life .One entire year of striving, reaching and achieving has come to
a successful close. To quote once again , Browning aptly said-“ Welcome
the thunder and the sunshine”, and look forward to a fulfilling and
enriching 2019-20.
If you can’t fly, then run
If you can’t run, then walk
If you can’t walk, then crawl
But whatever you do, you have to keep
moving.
At Lotus Valley we encourage our Ms Anita Malhotra
learners to forge with confidence and State & CBSE Awardee
poise. We motivate them to learn,
grow, share and prosper. The countless
activities that our children do each day
are designed such that they become
creative, self-reliant and sensitive
human beings who make a significant
change in the society and the world at
large.
Our endeavour is to equip children with the skills required to excel in
the 21st century. Whether it is communication, creativity or critical
thinking, our learners are given ample opportunities to hone their skills
and develop into well-rounded individuals. During the last quarter, the
school organized the Learner’s Conclave and the Learners Led League.
Both the events were tremendously successful and gave the learners
excellent opportunities to exhibit their talents and showcase the
knowledge acquired during the course of the year. We witnessed some
of the most enrapturing discussions with luminaries from diverse fields
during the two day conclave where pertinent national and
international issues were discussed.
The need of the hour is to make our children ready for global
citizenship. We are in a midst of a paradigm shift taking place with
barriers getting dissolved and the boundaries slowly blurring. It is
imperative for our learners to be willing to embrace people from diverse
backgrounds and cultures.
Nothing would have been possible without the indefatigable efforts of
the staff, the support of our gracious management and the trust of our
parent fraternity. I thank each member of this family and look forward
to strengthening this partnership with each passing day.

LEARNERS LED LEAGUE
Lotus Valley International School,
Gurugram organised yet another
enthralling session of the
Learners Led League on Saturday,
15th December, 2018.
A concept introduced last year by
the Principal, Ms. Anita
Malhotra, Learners Led League is
an enterprise to promulgate
classroom learning. It was an
experience in itself, both for
parents and learners, as parents
observed, witnessed,
participated and marvelled when
their wards took them through
the in-roads of the classroom
learning, their efforts, growth
and experiences.
Learners elucidated their
progress holistically through the
Learners portfolios and surprised
them with their special talents
followed by some thought
provoking games.
The session ended on a high with
parents’ personalized messages
to their wards as they motivated
the young scholars and
appreciated them for their round
the year efforts and of course
their thoughtful gestures to
make this parent-child
rendezvous a special and
memorable one.
The Christmas mood and music along with the selfie corners made the entire
school premises an arena of colours and clicks. Of course a special call-out for our
youngest middle-schoolers, our very own Grade IV learners, who enthusiastically
entertained all with their bands and joyous dance performances through the day!

Passion Pathshala with PARENTS: Grade V , February, 2019
‘In Learning you will teach...and in PASSION
teaching, you will learn.’
– Phil Collins
The above saying very effectively
sums up the essence of the flipped-
teaching, aptly called the 'Passion
Paathshala with Parents', a maiden
attempt, conceptualized and
initiated by the principal, Ms. Anita
Malhotra.
The future of the world is in our
classrooms today. This was indeed
proved right by the learners of
Grade V who took up the role of
mentors and confidently presented
their learnings to parents, using
technology during the week from
11th–15th February, 2019.
As they say, learning is more than
absorbing facts, it is acquiring
understanding. Using this
understanding, our learners taught
various concepts across their
curriculum in all the subjects to The parents witnessed proudly their
ward blossoming into a future speaker,
their parents. leader and a thinker.
The Passion Paathshala with Parents
was a power pack of knowledge,
detailing, interactivity, and most
importantly, confidence of the learners.
The initiative was thoroughly
appreciated and applauded by the
proud parents, who went back home as
happy students!
