Loving thoughts and memories brought
together to honor the person you have become
and the impact you have had on so many.
DANNY "LOVERBOY" WORWOOD
I've had the wonderful pleasure of loving you for over 45 years. I
knew the moment I met you that I wanted you to be mine, and me
to be yours forever. Even though there are many years and countless
memories since we first met, I still, and will always, think of you as
the beautiful, blond, powerful scholar I met in the halls of Richfield
Junior High. I knew you were a rare find from the very beginning and
am infinitely grateful that you have shared your life with me. I love
you, Leanne Thompson Worwood, and look forward to the rest of my
life with you. HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY.
DANIEL
You have always been my cheerleader, teacher, and friend. I
contribute many of my own favorite qualities to you; avid learner,
good listener, musically confident, and emotionally mature all come
to mind.
Even just this year, our one-on-one visit where you allowed me to
hold space had and continues to have an incredible positive
influence on my life. Although at times I am stubborn, I continue to
learn and appreciate the many lessons you lovingly provide.
I know I have a mom that would take on the world for me.
I love you.
KIMBER
Oh, Mama. I wish I had the words to express all of the love I have in
my heart for you. Thank you for being my role model, my protector,
my teacher, my inspiration, my best friend, and most of all, my mom.
You gave me my magical childhood (ketchup fights, reading and
cuddles in bed, trips to the beach, cinnamon rolls, adventures in
Thailand, Shakespeare plays...and on and on...) and now, you are
teaching me to have a magical adulthood (dance, let things go, do
the things you care about, let go of all of the things that really don't
matter, "you are enough!") I am so excited to see you turning 60
and CELEBRATING it. You dance! You teach! You laugh! You swear!
You continue to learn, and grow, and LIVE. I want to be just like you
when I grow up (I always have).
With alllll of the love in my heart,
Kimber
JENNA
I've always known I have a mom who adores me. It is one of the best
things she has ever done for me. I was always her baby girl, her
"toad." My entire adult life, my motto has been "I don't have time
for people who don't find me as funny as my mom does." She has
ALWAYS been my biggest cheerleader, hyping up any dream I had. I
enjoyed coloring and painting, but my mom made (and still makes)
me feel like an artist. I was into style, so she she got me into a
fashion class and she inspired me to be the editor for my school
newspaper when I was into writing.
I hope I can instill the self-confidence in my daughter that she
instilled in me. My mom taught me how to be witty, kind, supportive,
and just how to be a badass in general. I'm so frickin' proud to be
her daughter! Happy birthday!
JARED
I feel incredibly fortunate to have had a mother who has shown me
how to weave one's identity together out of the plurality of one's
self. Teacher, poet, historian, psychologist, philosopher, advocate,
and mother all tied together by her thirst to understand herself and
others as well as her passion to help others discover themselves.
Thank you for inviting me to explore along with you.
KYLIE AND HARLEY
I really love to read books with you!
Love,
Kylie
Happy Birthday Grandma! I love you. When you got us the magnet
dolls, that was very sweet of you.
Love,
Harley
MADDOX
Happy Birthday Grandma I love you. One of my favorite memories
with you is when we decided what to call you--"Supermom!"
Love,
Maddox
LINDY
I love playing with you Grandma. I wanna play numbers with you. I
love you Grandma because I love you.
JAYLEE
Dear Grandma, thank you for playing with me. Happy Birthday. I love
you.
Love,
Jaylee
MILLIE BEAN
I love Grandma and I love playing a lot of board games with her.
Hoot-ala-Hoot (Hoot Owl Hoot) is my favorite. My favorite thing
about grandma is that she loves me.
ELLIOT
Thanks for loving me and accepting me into your family and for
being a great mom. I'm glad we have an understanding.
Love.

Leanne has impacted my life in more ways than she knows! She is an
inspiring, resilient, and courageous mother, friend, and teacher. I am
constantly amazed by the wonderful ways she shows love and
support to the people in her life. She is able to light up a room like
no one else. Thanks for being another mother to me & I love you
very much!

MARBA THOMPSON
You are, and have always been, an outstanding teacher, even when
you were a high school student at Richfield High School and took a
class in "student teaching". You came to my 3rd grade classroom
and taught a unit on Shakespeare. My students loved it so much that
when they were in 4th grade you wanted to follow up with
Shakespeare --teaching the same play that the RHS AP classes were
studying. It took some high powered convincing their 4th grade
teacher to trade classes with me so you could teach the same, but
older, students. The deciding factor was that the students voted
100% to have Shakespeare. Not only did you teach the play, but
helped them with costumes and they acted out scenes. Then your
4th graders challenged the AP English classes to a contest. Each
group made up questions for the challenge. Questions were drawn
randomly, by the moderators--you and the RHS teacher. It was a
heated contest, but the 4th Grade Students won!!!! Pahvant Elem.
principal had chartered a bus to take us to the high school and even
got substitutes for Mr, Barnson and myself. I think Mr. Willis even
went with us. This was a BIG DEAL! Alan was in that class and he
states, "We even made the local newspaper! You were a super
teacher and helped us make many memories we will never forget!"
I LOVED having you teach with me! OUTSTANDING TEACHER
AWARD!!!
Love you so much, always and forever.

LESLIE JENKINS
Hey Leanne!
I'm not sure how in the world you've made it to 60 cause I think I'm
still 41-- but happiest 60th Birthday! We share so many incredible
memories--from creating our doll orphanage, beauty salon, and Barbie
dioramas as little girls to driving (or sometimes flying) for hours to be
together as adults. It wasn't easy but we managed to get together in
Maryland, Oahu, SanDiego, Colorado and Kauai. I will always
remember after you moved back to Utah and were living in
Hurricane, you and your family drove through a crazy snow storm to
get to my house in Bountiful where we were having a family fireside.
I was so impressed with the herculean effort you made to be there.
Its times like that, that will always stand out in my mind and heart. Its
what we do for family. Its what we do for sisters.
There were so many times we would stay up half the night talking
and when I finally snuck into bed, Larry would say, "Why do you guys
do this? What do you have to talk about until 3 am?" I would just
laugh and think how lucky I was to have a sister who wanted to stay
up til 3 am.talking, laughing, and sharing! We solved half the worlds'
problems with our wisdom in those after midnight chat sessions!
Life has gotten more complex as our children have gotten married
and given us beautiful grandchildren. Now, we are the ones inviting
them all home and creating memories for them. We are each on our
own treadmills of life just trying to keep up with the pace and not
get knocked off, but I will forever be grateful for all the times we
made being together a priority even when it wasn't
convenient--especially when it wasn't convenient. I love you and hope
we have many more adventures together! We always joked about
being in a care center together when we are old and having
wheelchair races! I'm still counting on it!
Love You Leanne!,
Leslie
ANNIE KOSTEN
Dear Leanne! How can you possibly be 60 years old? It doesn't
seem like all that long ago that we were sharing a room in the big
house in Chubbuck and trying to adjust to our new blended family.
If I haven't already apologized for how hard I made it for you all
those years ago as a wounded 10 year old, please let me apologize
with all of my heart now. I'm so grateful for you and for Mom
becoming my family. I can't know how hard it was, but I can imagine
that it was a huge challenge, and I'm sure glad you are my sister. As
far as memories go, my memory is pathetic, and we weren't ever at
school together, so we might not have as many memories as other
members of the family, but I do have lots of gratitude for your
generosity of spirit and of home. Thank you for doing all you could
for Shara under very stressful circumstances. Thank you for listening
to me time and time again as I've continued to work through my
mental health and trauma issues. Thank you for your example of
strength and perseverance through life even when there were really
tough times. Thank you for your authenticity. Thank you for
example as a parent and as a teacher. I love you very much. Happy
60th!
ALAN THOMPSON
Leanne is a great Sister. She always looked out for me. She took me
and my best friend on a date with Danny to Lagoon. She taught me
how to tell a good story although most of mine have turned into
hunting stories. She inspired a bunch of 4th graders to love
Shakespeare. She was always willing to talk late at night about life
and some of the things I was dealing with after my mission as I was
trying to figure out the direction of my career and the qualities I was
looking for in my future spouse. She always made time at reunions to
entertain me and all the Cottle cousins. We were so blessed when
Danny and Leanne and their family moved to Hurricane as we were
living in Ivins. We spent many a weekend at Sweetrock watching
movies, playing Worball and creating the Wipeout course in the pool.
She was always interested in what our boys were up to and she
challenged them in their studies or introduced them to a good
book. One year we spent Christmas at their home and her family
really made sure we had a good Christmas for our boys during a
rough time in my career and we didn't have much for them. I will
always be grateful and love her very much. Have a Happy Birthday
Leanne.
Your little brother Alan.
FRANCINE
Leanne,
You have been One of my idols since I’ve known you. You’re
always happy uplifting and trying to cheer people up and honestly
care. Do you accept people no matter what, and still love them.
Thank you for all your love and support through everything. When I
think of Leanne I think of the word happy! Francine.
SARAH THOMPSON
I love you Leanne and hope you have the happiest of birthdays! For
almost 27 years you have included me, welcomed me, and watched
out for me- what a blessing. You are truly one of my favorite people
to talk to because you are brilliant in your perception and
understanding of people and I have always admired that you never
stop learning and searching. You have created a beautiful family and
they are all as loving and accepting as their mother. Thank you for
always taking care of my family- the Worwoods are our favorites ❤️
and we love you.
JANETTE THOMPSON
Leanne-
From the time I saw my ancestors on your wall in Hawaii I knew I
would love you! Our Maui trip was so epic with highlights of taking
surf lessons and scaring the daylights out of Stephen and Danny
when attempting to dive to see the whale and her baby! I have such
fond memories of all our girl talk and lots of family get-togethers. I
admire your work ethic and all of your talent! I mean, dancing at 60?
I love it! Your ability to teach is quite amazing too. I wish you a very
happy birthday and hope to make many more fabulous memories
with you! I love you sis!

SHERRIE FRANDSEN
Wow the big 60. Some of the things I remember about you is your
eating onions so Danny kissing you would be awful on stage. I
remember your first apartment in Provo and how cute you had it
decorated. You’ve always been an example to me. You are a great
cook, decorator, wife/mother, teacher, friend etc. you do everything
you set out to do extraordinarily.
I am honored to be your sister and friend.
MEGHAN UNG
Words do not adequately describe how much I love you my dearest
Aunt. You are more than my Aunt. You are my sister and one of my
very best friends. I am so grateful for your 60 years of life! I love the
deep conversations that we can have any time, any place. I am so
grateful for all my memories with you - Rockmoore, Sweetrock,
Reunions, phone calls, but some of the most sacred memories were
when you came and supported my siblings and I after my mom
passed. You were such an incredible support in all the ways I needed
and I would have struggled without you. Thank you for loving me for
just being me. Thank you for always being a safe place for me. I love
and adore you so much and am so grateful you are alive. Happy
Birthday Auntie Leanne. I love you so much!
JASMINE FREEMAN
Leanne has always been so incredibly sweet and accepting of me
since I joined the family. She has been there for me in some of the
hardest and darkest moments. She has helped me see the light at
the end of the tunnel and has encouraged me to use my voice and
be the best version of me that I can be. I love Leanne more than I
can ever put into words! Thank you for always sharing your love and
light with me and the boys (Zac included)!
Happy Birthday to the most beautiful soul!
KRISTEN
Happy birthday to an awesome aunt and friend! I've had so many fun
memories visiting you in Hurricane. Thank you for providing a safe
space for me to be myself without judgment. Thank you for loving
me, Shawn, and my children. Thank you for asking questions and
listening to the answers. Thank you for being boldly you and lighting
up this world. Here's to many more years of memories and laughter.
Love you!
LISA DONNELSON
My first real memory of Leanne was when I stayed with her in Provo.
Daniel was just 6 weeks old and I was 8 years old. Danny and her
went out and left me to watch the baby. He cried and cried and
cried. I finally just put him in his crib and fell asleep. That's how they
found me when they got home! I remember watching MASH with
Danny and Leanne and also them taking dancing lessons. When I
was 14 I got the privilege to go out to Virginia and help Leanne for
the Summer! It was my first time on a plane and across the United
States at that! It was during that Summer Leanne excitedly convinced
me to take the Myers-Briggs test - as I am sure many of us have
done. We also had a good time figuring out what color clothes and
makeup went best with my skin coloring. We were so lucky that we
got to spend a whole day together in Washington DC. After this trip
was when my love for travel really came about. I got to spend time
with Leanne and her family at a few of the places they lived - Hawaii,
California. When in California we went to Las Vegas where about the
only thing I remember is Daniel running into the back of some bikini
