clad Hawaiian Tropic model - lol! I got to experience the beauty of
Hawaii and also the cockroaches which Leanne happily tried to kill
for me and the geckos in my suitcase. I do remember it being odd
that no tv was allowed in their house but glad to see that isn't the
case anymore :). Leanne has been a big part of my life and I have
lots of memories of many nights chatting, laughing and teasing her
(even though she hates it!). I was lucky to see her kids grow up into
the amazing human beings they are and lucky I got to be a part of
it! Have the most amazing birthday! Love Lisa
CAT
Aunt Leanney has been a long time favorite human of mine in this
crazy world, but, one of my top memories with her is when she
welcomed me and my then fiancé to her home so that we could be
married in front of Grandpa and Grandma Thompson. Uncle Danny
performed our marriage (mine and Julien’s, I didn’t marry Leanne),
and the rest is history. We’ve spent several trips since then giggling,
talking, crying, and becoming closer in our journey of growing up. I
appreciate and love her deeply, and I know both of my boys do too!
I hope you have a fabulous birthday celebrating the incredible
woman you are! I love you! Cat

I stayed with Leanne in the basement apartment of the white house in
Provo when I was a boy. We had lived in the upstairs of the white
house, so spending a night downstairs was different. I don't recall
the occasion, so let's just say Paula and Bruce were on their
honeymoon. What I do remember vividly is walking across an open
field of grass, like a park or a soccer field, probably on the BYU
campus. It was springtime, and the sunlight was glowing in Leanne's
blonde hair. For me, that has always been the feeling of being with
Leanne: the warmth of the sunshine in an everlasting season of
renewal.

Happy Birthday Aunt Leanne!!!
Thank you for always being such a fun aunt and for always letting my
family come over and hangout with you guys! I have so many fond
memories of spending time with you and your family. Whether it was
family reunions, or Christmas, or just hanging out, you always made it
a party!
JANINE AND LOGAN NILSSON
We have fond memories of days past, singing around the piano,
camping, playing games, and visiting with you, Leanne. Your energy,
laughter, and love for people as well as life is contagious! Soooo
happy that you and Danny married and that you are a part of our
family. By the way, you don’t look or act a day over 39!! Have
a wonderful birthday and may the next years of your life be full of
fun, family, good health, and happiness. We love you! Happy
Birthday!

Tribute to Leanne on her 60th!!
I have known and loved Leanne since her birth. She has been and
will always be a part of our family. There are a myriad of stories and
experiences I could recount here but I will limit my memories listed
here to just two.
The first is from our youth. Leanne was my “little sister” for many
years while she and her mom lived with and close to us. I quite
enjoyed the pleasure of having a younger “sibling”. I suppose I
even abused the opportunity by bossing her now and then. When
my dad needed to get a job done, and other help was not available,
he would take mother, me and Leanne. I remember one particular
job where we were the crew called upon to insulate a particular
house that just “had” to get done that day. My job was to entertain
and tend Leanne while dad was in the attic and mother was feeding
the blower. I’m sure dad must have been somewhat frustrated as
mother wound stop and come see how we were doing. She must
have felt that things were not going well and that I was not doing my
duty as I should and so she stopped her part of the work, scolded
me a bit, and turned to comfort Leanne. I guess I wasn’t making
Leanne happy. When dad came to investigate he put me to doing
mom’s job feeding the blower (with her help doing the lifting) and
told me that I better do a better job there than I had tending
Leanne. Well, I guess that was a story more about me than it was
Leanne – opps! I’ll never forget that experience of tending little
Leanne. I think I was 10 and Leanne was 2 at the time.
Last night I was in the car listening to the radio while Joyce was
“ministering” to a sister in need. “Don't Worry, Be Happy” came
over the air waves. I sang right out loud with the fun little song that I
never knew before a Cottle reunion where it was wonderfully
performed by the “newlywed” Worwoods. It seems to me that we all
got involved and were singing along by the time they were done.
Danny and Leanne were always the life of the party at family
reunions. Our daughters loved to participate in the fun activities and
dances initiated by Leanne. Those are memories that they, and we,
will cherish forever!!
Leanne is a jewel. One who is cherished beyond rubies. I am so
grateful to know that our love and association is not bound by
mortality, but can be enjoyed throughout all eternity.
Happy 60th Leanne. Maybe we should be sending black balloons!!
Haha
We love y’all.

BRENNAN THOMPSON
Happy Birthday Aunt Leanne!! I’m so happy we get to visit with you
and your family for Thanksgiving and take a minute to write you
something. Hurricane, you, and your family have been such a
constant part of my life and so many great memories; I hope you
know how much I love and appreciate you. I hope you have a
fantastic birthday and many more to come!
STEPHEN JENKINS
I loved spending summers in Richfield when the Worwoods lived
there. Leanne treated me like one of her own children. Sometimes
that meant helping with a few chores! I’ll never forgive her for
introducing me to Veggie Tales at such an impressionable age (jk
lol).
I’ve always felt welcome and loved in Leanne’s house, so I try to stop
by whenever I’m in Southern Utah. Leanne always makes time to chat
and catch up, even when I show up unannounced (which is the
majority of the time).
SERET RAFFERTY
Dear Leanne - thank you for welcoming this long lost cousin of yours
to your town with Open Arms!
When I moved here we didn't know each other well, and since then
hanging out with you has been so pleasant.
Also I must say that taking tap dance (and performing *gasp*) under
your leadership was SO fun.
Thank you for the guidance in helping me get out of my shell.
Looking forward to many more adventures together.
Love Seret

Leanne made great gatherings better in ways that only the truly kind
can. I rarely saw her outside of the annual Cottle family reunions, yet
she made me believe, every year, that she’d been looking forward to
seeing me. She was the coolest cousin we had. She was part of the
older group and could have ditched us in favor of more fulfilling
activities, but she and her guitar were there every year with my
generation gathered at her feet. She was bold and clever, yet
humble. She’d sing “Puff the Magic Dragon” with such gusto that we
all believed he was real. Everything she said to us was convincing,
actually. She was so sincere. I remember feeling unjustly robbed of
my beloved cousin when she met Danny. Who was this interloper
who sought to claim our chief? Turns out that Danny was at least her
equal in the fun department, and the reunions only got better. I have
never not loved my sweet cousin. I served a mission in part due to
the strength of her testimony, shared with us in moments of peace.
In my education career, I teach as I remember her teaching us. I owe
her much for the hours she invested painting verbal pictures of
endless possibilities. I write novels and screenplays today in part
because of her creative stories. Leanne is and will always be dear to
me, and I am not alone in this sentiment.
LAUREL RUSSELL RUFF
Cousin Leanne you never cease to amaze me! In love your stories and
all the fond memories at reunions. Thank you for always laughing and
singing along. Love you! Laurel (pictured Laurel, Lauren and Ian)
KATIE DANIELS JORGENSEN
I always loved Aunt Leanne! She was always happy and had the best
smile on her face. I loved when they were able to visit for the Fourth
of July or other family gatherings because of the happiness and fun
she brought.
LEOTA PEARSON
I loved meeting Leanne at my dads funeral. We clicked right away
and it was so cool to discover things that we have in common (i.e.
that stupid sun damage condition; leaving the church; teaching
school). I feel grateful to have Leanne and her family in my life.
DOUG, STEPH, KAYLA, KAITLYN DANIELS
Leanne you are the best! We love camping with you and your sense
of humor! You give great advice and we love the long talks about
life.
Leanne, you light up a room amd just beam out rays of positivity and
love! Thanks for being you! Happy birthday!
CHELSEA
Watching you and Danny sing don’t worry be happy in the kitchen!
I’ve loved that song my whole life because of the memories from
that day.
MICHELLE CHRISTENSEN
Aunt Leanne has always been so fun to be around. From camping
trips to Christmas parties, she always makes it a point to talk to me
and be sincerely interested in what’s going on in my life. She knows
how to make those around her feel important and noticed. Love her!
Happy Birthday!!
DESTONEE WILSON
l know the song “Peanut, Peanut Butter, and Jelly.”
I also think of you regularly and Oklahoma when I see onions.
You taught me the best way to make scrambled eggs.
JERE MILLER
Happy Birthday my dear friend, Leanne. I am wishing you a fabulous
60th! How brave of you to start this decade for us. You live life so
beautifully. From teaching, making your home loving and inviting, to
prioritizing connection with everyone you meet; you do it beautifully
and effortlessly.
I am so grateful that I was divinely gifted to have you as a bestie
since 1979–junior year in high school. Danny was in Brazil and we had
dance and Honors English together. We often went to the Dairy for
an ice cream and chats about everything. Time as roommates at
BYU—always fun! Married lives, moves and children—we have shared
it all. The best part is that we have always been able to pick right up
where we leave off. It’s effortless, no matter how long.
Not so many are as lucky as us! We love, we counsel each other and
we laugh! It’s the best. My life is enormously better because of you.
Love you so much! Happy Birthday!
CINDY RIDDLE WILKEY
I cherish Leanne in a million ways for a million different things. She is
one of those friends where we immediately pick up where we left
off... even if there have been many years in between.
Leanne has been my trusted confidant for over four decades. We
have shared so many laughs, tears, hopes, dreams, and crazy secrets.
A little secret like how much we paid for Hamilton tckets!! (Yes. I sat
on the second row!)
Leanne is my friend that inspires me and makes me a better person. I
am looking forward to a million more conversations and adventures
in the next four decades.
Sending love to you, my dear friend, as you celebrate your 60th birthday.
KERRI BUSK NIELSEN
With Leanne there’s always lots of laughter and tears and hugs and
conversations with meaning and conversations just for fun. The world
is a much more loving and interesting place with Leanne in it. Happy
Birthday, Leanne! PS Let’s do more “skinny cheeks” photos together.
JULIE KISER
Happy Birthday my dear friend!! So many great memories of living
next door to each other in Provo. I loved serving with you in the
Relief Society presidency. We had fun watching our husbands play on
the same softball team. You were kind enough to babysit Cassidy a
few times when she was brand new and I had to go back to work.
We always have so much to talk about when we’re together.. I love
your laugh and your zest for life. We lost touch for many years but
I’m so grateful we reconnected once we moved to St. George. You
and Danny got Larry hooked on Thai food and I’m really happy
about it. Thank you for your love and friendship all these many years.
I’m a better person because you are my friend! I love you beautiful
lady!!
NICOLE STOUT
I love Leanne so much, but more than that, I adore her! She is so full
of life and so much fun! She is the best dance partner EVER and
some of my favorite memories with her are dancing tap and hip hop
with her. Whether we are braving a ceremony by each other, doing
breath work, or sipping tea and eating cookies, life is always an
adventure with Leanne and the best day is a day I get to spend with
her!! Love you, Leanne!!!
KARYN VINCENT
She is champagne bubbles and pink jellybeans.
She is rolling down a grassy hill on a bright summer's day.
She is sunlight tickling the water.
She fizzes with inspiration and magic, and whenever I'm with her
daffodils bloom in my heart.
She is a living breathing alter to the Divine Feminine.
She is my truest friend.
I love you, Leanne. Your strength gives me strength. Your light gives
me light. Thank you for all that you are and all that you do.
Happy birthday!!
SHERRI WORTH
We have shared many sweet moments together. Including some of
the most important of my life, like Tasha’s birth. You wrote me a
lovely poem about motherhood. I love you.
ASHLEY SPENDLOVE
Leanne is seriously so amazing. She always has the sweetest and
kindest things to say. She brightens my day every single time I see
her. I'm always amazed how big of a heart she has for others and
how encouraging she is of me to be a better person. I feel truly
honored to have her in my life. Happy Birthday Leanne.
CHRYS P HYATT
I love your creativity, passion, and authenticity!!

CORY AND MEL REESE
Leanne- you were such a great teacher to each of our kids. Jackson
still talks about you. He remembers you staying after school for 4
hours to help him with an essay ❤.️ Our girls loved every time you
sub’d for Kimber (they loved you too Kimber)! Happiest of birthdays,
friend!
RACHEL THOMPSON
Leanne, you are one of the good ones girl! You truly are amazing! I
always look forward to seeing you whether it was doing your hair,
taking a cold plunge, or having dinner at your house. I know I can
count on you for good conversations even if it's a hard one, maybe
especially if it's a hard one! Thanks for being a friend and loving me
even if I do crazy things!
MEKYNZIE JENSEN
You aren’t too much for anyone who loves and adores you!! Do not
ever dull your sparkle for those around you, we want to see all the
fun and amazingness that encompasses you!! You are a light, a
breath of fresh air and such an inspiration! Love you dearly my secret
buddy
ASHLIE
She had this amazing project in her mind about the Harry Potter
room. From day 1 she was nothing but encouraging, supportive,
excited and accommodating! The room took so much longer than
expected due to set backs like a job change, Covid-19, car troubles,
a friend emergency and other crazy life curve-balls. But every bit of
that process was wonderful BECAUSE of Leanne and how much she
cared. I cannot speak highly enough about her. Reading some of the
messages left by patrons who stayed at the magnificent Rockmoore
you can sense how much kindness, love, attention and energy she
puts into people and her passions. Also, she has a pretty amazing
daughter who I'm sure picked up some of that awesomeness from
her! Thank you, Leanne for all you do and every part of who you are!
Happy 60th!
MAHA LAYTON
I love Leanne! Since the day I met her at Water Canyon School,
Leanne came with all of her love, joy, and energy! Leanne is one of a
kind, and I am so honored to call her my co-worker, neighbor, and
life-long friend!
HAYLEY HINCKLEY
I was initially so sad when I realized we have ZERO photos together!
However, I came to the realization that it is because when we’re
together, we are either having far too much fun (thank you for
teaching me to tap dance!), or are having meaningful conversations.
So while I don’t have photo evidence of the smile you put on my
face, I hope you know how much I treasure having you in my life!
You never cease to make me feel special and loved. I’m incredibly
grateful to have you as another “mom”. We bless the day that you
were born, Leanne! Sending all my love on this day that is VERY
much worth celebrating. ❤️
JEREMY AND BRITTANY HATCH
We have lots of amazing memories with Leanne and we sure love
her! One that will always have a special place in my (Brittany's) heart
is when we first moved to Hurricane Leanne was my visiting teacher!
It was hard moving with 3 littles, starting a business here and not
knowing any one here! The struggle of moving to a new area and
starting a busineiness was real! Leanne totally understood and truly
had a caring heart wanting to help. She came one day to my house
with a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows. It was so amazing to
feel loved and I knew someone cared about me! ❤️ My children love
her just the same! I remember Kalyann's first time to "sneak out" at
night was to go to the Worwood's! Ha ha Leanne secretly asked if it
was ok and I thought it was awesome Kaly thought she snuck out,
but really her parents knew! There are so many memories and I
hope their are many more! Jeremy says Leanne's smile brightens
everyone's day when she walks in to the office! We love you Leanne!
Happy Birthday! ❤️❤️
SHELLY ANDERSON
You are Beauty, Intelligence and Grace!
Happy Happy Birthday!!
Loves and Hugs Always,

AMY BARNEY
Dear Leanne!
You are a bright light in a dark world. I am blessed beyond measure
to have you as a friend. You have touched many, and will continue to
touch all those you meet. I appreciate your kindness, your love, your
sensitivity, your compassion for life, your drive, your empathy for
others, the list could go on and on. Happy Birthday my beautiful
friend. Love you lots❤️ Amy Barney (I’m not sure why we didn’t take
a pic of us at FinneyFarms but I got the sign! ❤)️
