old traditions and beginning new

ones.

Summer days came and went in a
flash ... days of sun, surf, fun, an
awesome tan, and beach
"cruising". There were parties,

dates, the summer movie hits, and
just plain “hanging-out".

With the start of classes in
September the fast pace
continued with seeing familiar faces
and welcoming new ones. Throwing
books into an already crowded
locker didn't ease the pain of
starting school again, but seeing
our heroes taped to our lockers —
Springstein, Prince, Billy Idol, and
Tina Turner as well as listening to
their sounds helped ease the pain
of a monotonous day. We even
got to wear our "Friday Flash" —
Espirit, Levis 501 and Guess to
overcome the uniform "blues".

Pep assemblies, rousing football,
volleyball and basketball games ...

the crowds at the monthly dances
in Rogers Hall, theatre productions,

Christmas Aloha competition and
Homecoming frivolity in Maroon and

Gold heightened campus activity.

Campus beautification — the
drilling, the noise, the dust, scaffolds

and the smell of paint made the
inconveniences worthwhile with the

beautiful new "make-up" on our
buildings.

We took more images in stride ...
the search for that non-existent
parking space in the morning,
being patient with the one-way

driveway ... even the occasional
litter and dented garbage cans on

campus.

The daily class work, the
homework, friends and after-school

jobs made school a place of
images — images that will remain
forever, images that will never end.
