1996

• Rev. Ha Tung Chiew joined us on 1st January but left us
on 31st December.

• Participated in the State Level Youth Week Parade on
23rd June.

• BBM Golden Jubilee Celebration with Thanksgiving
Church Service.

• Our members participated Rakan Muda Survival Camp
from 27th to 29th September.

• Lt.Camillus Wong Yiik Chien was elected as treasurer of
Sarawak State District Council until 2014.

• BB 1st Sarikei gained JOHAN in the Kontingen Disiplin
Terbaik category for State Level Youth Parade Minggu

• Pastor Tiong Yien joined us as Chaplain but left us on
28th December.

• Band leading round town route march during the 5th
Sarawak Under 16 Bumiputra Basketball Competition on
23rd May.

• Lt. Suh Ching Hieng was appointed as Captain as at
01.01.1997.

• Capt Suh Ching Hieng, Lt Camillus Wong and Lt.
Cristopher Tiong attended the SrSc State AGM in Sibu.

• Rev. Sia Hock Kiat joined us as our Chaplain on

1st January.
• Earth breaking ceremony of our new Wisma Methodist

Building on 6th February.
• On 3rd August, our BB & GB combined Mini Sports at

Sports Complex.
• Aluminium cans collection as part of BB & GB fund

raising projects for Wisma Methodist.
• Attended the 60th Anniversary Celebrations of The Girls’

Brigade Malaysia in Sibu.



1999

• Lt. Jacob Ling Hau Ching was reappointed as our new
Captain until 31st December 2010. Lt. Wong Sing Ai as
our Honorary Captain.

• 30th Anniversary Celebrations: BB & GB Junior Camping
from 27th to 28th May; BB & GB Spiritual Retreat from
3rd to 5th June; Canoeing course at Rajang Training
College.

2000

• Sgt Victor Ting Kee New received the President’s Badge
in 35th National Council Meeting at Penang, witnessed
by them Tan Sri Koh Shu Koon, Chief Minister of Penang
in March 2000.

• Our company’s Junior took part in marching for the first
time during agung’s Birthday celebration in Sarikei.

• We won Naib Johan in Perbarisan Kategori Sekolah
sempena Yang Di-pertuan Agong’s Birthday celebration
in Sarikei.

• SJKC Su Lee platoon was started by Mr. Lee Fouk Choe
( headmaster of the school) with the help of W/O Sia
Mee Yieng as teacher in charge of the platoon.

• 15th BB Pesta was first held in Kuching Sarawak on 5th to
9th December

• Lt. Camillus was selected as Treasurer in Pesta
Organising Committee.







2002

• Captain Jacob mentored for first canoeing course in
Maktab Perguruan Rajang for senior Boys

• Lt. Peter Tong King Ching observed Fire-fighting course
for seniors

• First Aid Courses were first time being conducted by
Captain Jacob.

• Rev. Sia Hock Kiat left us and Rev. Ling Soon Huat
joined us on 31st December as our new Chaplain.

• Rev. Lau King Huong had joined us as Chaplain on
1st January.

• Band performance during SMK Bandar Teachers’ Day
• Combined with BB & GB from Bintangor in taking part in

the Hari Kebangsaan Parade
• SJKC Bulat platoon was fromed by Mr. Lee Fouk Choe

( school headmaster ) with the help of
Mdm Chan Lai Lee as teacher in charge of the platoon.

• SK Methodist Anglo-Chinese obtained naib johan in
Pertandingan Kawad Kaki Sekolah Rendah/Menengah
Peringkat Bahagian anjuran Pejabat Pendidikan
Bahagian di SK Sarikei.

• Gabungan BB SK Methodist AC, SJKC Su Lok, SJKC Su

• We had 10 band public performances led by Lt.
Christopher Tiong Koh Hin

• We made 4 band performances during Christmas
carolling.



2007

• Band room had been broken in and we lost about
RM20,000 of our band instruments being stolen.

We obtained 3rd placing in Pertandingan Kawad Kaki Sekolah
Rendah/Menengah Peringkat Bahagian Ke-6 organised by Sarikei

Education Department in Tapak Hospital Lama.

2009

• Rev. Lau King Huong left us on 27th December.
• We bought a new Bass Drum.
• We announced our 40th anniversary in our enrolment

service.
• Gabungan BB SK Methodist Anglo-Chinese n SJKC Su

Lee obtained 3rd placing in Pertandingan Kawad Kaki
Sekolah Rendah/Menengah Peringkat Bahagian anjuran
Pejabat Pendidikan Bahagian Sarikei di Stadium
