นอกจากนี้สิ่งที่มนุษย์ได้รับผลประโยชน์จากพืชพรรณ คือ อาชีพ การเพาะปลูก การค้าขาย เพื่อนำ
เงินตรามาจับจ่ายใช้สอยและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิต เราจะเห็นว่าการดำรงชีวิตของมนุษย์ในพื้นที่ต่างๆ
ทัว่ โลกมคี วามผูกพันอย่กู บั พชื พรรณธรรมชาตติ ง้ั แต่อดตี จนถึงปจั จุบัน

ชีวนเิ วศทีแ่ ตกต่างของพืชสัมพันธ์อย่างยิ่งกับถ่ินทอี่ ยู่อาศัยของสัตว์ เน่อื งจากพืชพรรณและ
ภูมิอากาศเป็นตัวกำหนดถิ่นที่อยู่อาศัยของสัตว์ได้อย่างชัดเจน อย่างไรก็ตามสัตว์หลายประเภทจะมี
ถิ่นที่อยู่อาศัยหลายเขต เช่น นกอพยพเขตหนาวที่จะบินข้ามทวีปมาหากินแถบชายทะเลเขตร้อนใน
ฤดูหนาว และจะบินกลบั ไปวางไข่เมือ่ เข้าสูฤ่ ดรู ้อน เนื่องจากธรรมชาตขิ องสัตว์จะมีการอพยพโยกย้าย
ตามแหล่งอาหารและสภาพอากาศที่เหมาะสม เพื่อการอยู่รอดของตัวมันเอง ทั้งนี้ถิ่นที่อยู่อาศัยของ
สัตว์แบ่งออกเป็น 11 เขต ได้แก่ เขตทุนดรา เขตไทกา เขตป่าไม้ผลัดใบเขตอบอุ่น เขตทุ่งหญ้าเขต
อบอุ่น เขตป่าไม้เนื้อแข็งไม่ผลัดใบเขตอบอุ่น เขตทะเลทราย เขตทุ่งหญ้าสะวันนา เขตป่าไม้ผลัดใบ
เขตร้อน เขตป่าหนามเขตร้อน เขตป่าร้อนชื้น และเขตภูเขา ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างมนุษยแ์ ละสัตว์เกิด
ขึ้นมาตั้งแต่โบราณ จนกระทั่งปัจจุบัน โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการนำมาเป็นอาหาร เครื่องนุ่งห่ม พาหนะ
ในการเดินทาง ลากจงู ตลอดจนการศกึ ษาและความเพลดิ เพลนิ อาทิ สัตว์เลี้ยง

พืชและสัตว์หรือที่เรียกรวมว่า ชีวภาค เป็นองค์ประกอบหนึ่งที่สำคัญของภูมิศาสตร์
กายภาพ จากที่ศึกษาจะพบว่าทั้ง 4 ส่วน ได้แก่ ธรณีภาค อุทกภาค บรรยากาศภาค และชีวภาค
แท้จริงแล้วคือหนึ่งระบบของโลกที่ไม่สามารถขาดสิ่งใดสิ่งหนึ่งได้เลย หากขาดสิ่งใดสิ่งหนึ่งการ
ดำรงชีวิตของมนุษย์ก็จะไม่สมบูรณ์หรืออาจจะตายได้ อาทิ มนุษย์ไม่สามารถขาดน้ำ ขาดอากาศไม่ได้
ขาดดินที่ใช้สร้างบ้าน สร้างอาหาร และเลี้ยงสัตว์ไม่ได้ ดังนั้นจึงจำเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่จะต้องศึกษาวิชา
ภูมิศาสตร์กายภาพ เพื่อเกิดความรู้ ความเข้าใจ อันจะนำไปสู่การสร้างความตระหนักและเห็นคุณค่า
ของทกุ สงิ่ ทกุ อย่างทีอ่ ยู่รอบตัว สร้างความยงั่ ยนื และสมดุลให้แก่โลกต่อไป
