A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDERS
The year 2020 was indeed very challenging and special for Campus Rangers
and everyone around the world.
Challenging – because, for the first time, all our teachers and students have to
suddenly switch into online learning within 1 to 2 days’ notice due to
lockdown of schools! In 2020, many of the activities and trips planned for
both International School (CRIS) and Learning Centres (CRLC) had to be
cancelled as students continued with virtual classes from home. Teachers had
to suddenly took on new skills and spent hours on research for interesting or
age relevant online contents in order to be effective in online teaching.
Special – because we have established our first Campus Rangers International
School this year, after 8 years of operating as IGCSE Learning Centres or
”homeschools”. This new school supported our Learning Centres
tremendously in terms of immediate e-learning support and establishing
systems for evidence-based school assessments that are acceptable for major
Cambridge exams.
CREST 1
It is also Special as, for the first time, parents became very involved with their
children’s lessons, since many were also on lockdown to work from home, or
being called upon by our teachers to assist or guide their children to focus in
those virtual classes.
Despite the unprecedented situation, Campus Rangers stride on with
uninterrupted classes to ensure that we would complete all the syllabus for the
year. For the 2020 batch of Year 11 students, we even managed to conduct two
in-campus trial examinations to prepare them for the 2020 IGCSE. We were
also prepared with compilations of evidence to support a school-based
assessment in the event of Cambridge IGCSE exam cancellation. Being agile,
we are always quick in coming out with the best possible solution or
alternatives. As such, our aim is always to ensure students will not be deprived
of quality education despite challenging circumstances.
We certainly hope and pray that 2021 will be a much better year for all, since
nations around the world are taking on the new COVID-19 vaccines. As people
are increasingly being vaccinated, the economy will very much improve, and
the lockdown of schools will be a thing of the past. We will certainly benefit
from a more predictable and stable situation as school activities slowly return
back to normal.
The debut of this Yearbook entitled “CREST” shall be the start of many other
publications to come, including newsletters, and also the special edition of our
10th Anniversary (2012 – 2022) Commemorative Book which will be published
next year. I certainly hope our students, under guidance from our very capable
and experience educationists, will be able to demonstrate their abilities and
depict their joy in studying with Campus Rangers through these publications.

A Message from Our CRLC Principal
I am privileged to grace the maiden publication of CREST, Campus Rangers
annual Yearbook with a few words, especially in 2020 where everyone in the world
has been affected by the pandemic.
Campus Rangers started 2020 with the opening of Campus Rangers International
School, which is a full-fledged Cambridge accredited school and includes classes in
Pre-school, Primary and Secondary school.
Campus Rangers nurtures our students to become confident, caring young adults
who will be prepared for challenges, in an ever changing global environment as the
world becomes more connected.
From the moment a new student joins Campus Rangers community, we want them
to feel a sense of hope and joy as this is essential to their learning and future success.
In 2020 we also had to adapt our education process in view of the Covid-19
pandemic. There were many challenges faced both by the teachers and students and
we are proud that Campus Rangers community demonstrated both resilience and
determination to prevail through this period.
CREST 4
Campus Rangers has taken the leap to embrace the inclusion of virtual
technology in our education system and this has further provide new
opportunities for educating our students. This experience had also given
us a closer sense of belonging.
CREST means Campus Rangers Empowering Students of Today. Crest
2020 showcases many of the challenges Campus Rangers faced and
highlights the efforts taken to overcome each obstacle in order to ensure
students get the best education available. This Yearbook also records the
many events of the year and chronicles the lives of our students while
being equipped, empowered and transformed with Campus Rangers .
At Campus Rangers, our philosophy is “no one is left behind”, a standard
we instill in our students to always be at their very best in an ever
enlarging world. The stories written by the Alumni in the year book
reflects the ethos of the school.
I feel honoured and privileged to be the very first principal to lead such
an exciting and vibrant school. Together with the team of dedicated
teachers, Campus Rangers will continue to scale greater heights. May
God bless everyone in the school and may the school continue to grow
from strength to strength and glory to glory.
Sincerely,
Angie Chong

A Message
from Our
CRLC Head
of Upper
Secondary
It is indeed a privilege to be given the opportunity to share my
experiences in the making of the maiden edition of ‘CREST’.
The idea of putting together a Yearbook was first mooted way back in 2017
but due to various reasons the project did not materialize. Yet, the
yearning to encapsulate and freeze history in memories left behind by
students and staff remained strong.
So, it was in 2019 when the then year 10 students started their IGCSE
program, the proposal to publish the yearbook seemed attainable. It was a
pleasant surprise to discover that a small group from this batch of
students had the necessary skills and enthusiasm to kick start the project.
As we started our yearbook meetings, their creative juices flowed;
photographs were beautifully taken, impactful and simple logo based on
the inspirational title were designed and bold captions were written. The
fact that this editorial board took up the challenge to produce the first
ever yearbook of its alma mater, is an achievement by itself!
Not many know that being in the Yearbook committee, students learn
skills that they will use in the future. Time management, prioritizing,
reliability and the responsibility of completing given tasks are just some
of the skills students pick up. The Yearbook created a positive school
spirit
CREST 6
spirit; a sense of pride and belonging. When students have school spirit,
their performance improved. We are proud that all the members of this
editorial board achieved excellent results in their recent IGCSE
examination.
The coronavirus has taken away many opportunities for us to create
bigger and more meaningful experiences in school. Without a doubt, this
pandemic has influenced us in many ways but we are determined not to
allow it to be the whole story in our yearbook entitled CREST. We
reshaped our plans for the book without compromising its quality and
objectives.
Although the editorial board played an early role in paving the way for the
making of the yearbook, the final touches were carried out by another
group of teachers. This goes to show that the putting together of the
yearbook requires team work and a wide range of skills.
With the publication of CREST, the whole team has now brought Campus
Rangers to greater heights. A school is defined by the children and staff
who create the culture and ethos in it. I believe the next editorial board
would find it more challenging to produce a yearbook amidst the corona
virus pandemic.
We hope that with the publication of CREST, we have created the
perception that we want the community to have about the school. These
are our shared memories. Cherish them for as long as we can.
All the best,
TanSeanOr

TO ALL MY BELOVED YEAR 11 STUDENTS 32
a poem by Mr. Hansen Chan
I Have Taken Time For Granted...
Time flies...
It was just like yesterday.
I met you in twenty sixteen (2016),
you were young and vibrant,
you made my life exciting,
that I had never felt before,
I was longing to see you every day,
even for an hour and not a second more.
My journey with you had just begun then,
As the days passed,
our relationship grew,
You had been a part of me,
For I wished to see you grow and shine,
I may have shown my anger and dissatisfaction to you,
But your patience and tolerance made me care for you more.
Two years then passed,
You had matured more,
You didn’t let me down,
with the cooking and desserts, you had made,
It was certainly delicious and I was craving for more.
You had shown great entrepreneurship,
with the various DIY items,
and even enhanced your sales,
with a slogan like “Naked Without One”,
which remains the best slogan till today.
The same year,
We went for a three day two night trip,
to the “Pearl of Orient”,
You were excited and so was I,
We arrived at the hotel by the sea,
Checked-in into our own rooms.
CREST
CREST Unpacking, I heard knocking on my door,
Four of you were there
Looking frightened and restless,
“Ghost?” I asked,
You decided to stay with me,
That night, you were on my bed,
on the floor,
...and under the table,
while I was snoring on the sofa in deep sleep.
I couldn’t forget how caring you were,
covering me with the blanket while I was fast asleep.
Visiting interesting and historical places
were what we did for the remaining days.
Life with you has never stopped being exciting,
We attended the Graduands’ Night together,
You looked so attractive and smartly dressed,
You had grown from ugly ducklings to beautiful swans,
While I had grown to become one that had aged.
I have taken time for granted,
Not realizing you had grown up so fast,
I wish I could turn back the clock and be with you longer.
I cannot imagine the empty classrooms without you,
when I return to the place where I first met you.
Life will not be the same,
but I understand you have to continue your journey,
to achieve your ultimate goal.
I love you and wish you the best wherever you are,
If we ever meet, please come by to say “Hello”,
as I may be too old to recognize you.
Thank you,
for being such a wonderful chapter in my life.
My Best Wishes to All of You.
Yours sincerely,
Hanson Chan

"Back when I was in primary school, when my studies Wong Jin Hin
weren't that good. But after joining Campus Rangers, I have
improved a lot. The teachers here are very patient and
experienced, and so they actually pushed me to a higher
level. During the IGCSE exams, the teachers were always
with me, helping me out through the challenging times.
Besides academics, the school also held fascinating events,
such as Sports Day, G&A and school trips. Out of all these
events, G&A was the most memorable as the students got
the chance to perform on stage. I also performed during
G&A and after that, I started to explore and join other
competitions outside the school. I have no regrets joining
Campus Rangers."
Tayanaa Logenthiran "When I first joined Campus Rangers, I was very scared
and worried that I wouldn't fit in. But almost immediately,
my teachers and my friends made me feel so at home and I
just became comfortable really fast. My teachers quickly
became my second parents. They pushed me to move
forward and venture out into things that I myself never
thought I could do. That made me the all-rounded person
I am today. And for that I am very appreciative. And for my
friends, we made cherishable memories that I will never
forget. So thank you to Campus Rangers for giving me
such a great high school experience. I am really grateful. "
"I want to say that I'm really happy that we enrolled
Tayanaa in Campus Rangers, because she has become a very
mature and responsible person ever since. And I must say a
special thank you to all the teachers, for example, Mrs Tan,
the Head of Upper Secondary, and everyone who provided
her with a lot of push, support and encouragement that
contributed a lot to her growth and development. A good
school actually comes shining through during the darkest
of moments, and during this difficult period of the
pandemic, Campus Rangers really came shining through.
The commitment from all the teachers and staff, and the
hard work that they've put really is head and shoulders
above many other schools that we know of. I'm glad that
Tayanaa enjoyed her time at Campus Rangers and it truly Logenthiran Singam
was a fantastic experience for her. Thank you."
