Biolab and Wildlife Capacity Buildling Center (BWCBC) BWCBC was established in 1997 as an independent division for the purposes of Biodiversity activities in NSTR.Over a span of decade, outstanding research regarding the wildlife conservation, biodiversity and species inventory have been done. As a part of research, some of the specimens of vertebrates and invertebrates found in and around Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve are collected and preserved. These specimens are exhibited to the public for creating awareness on the biodiversity signi昀椀cance and its conservation.
Inventorized in BWCBC Over 80 species of Mammals, 303 species of Birds, 80 species of Reptiles, 20 Amphibians, 55 Fishes, 102 species of Butter昀氀ies, 57 species of Moths, 47 species of Coleopteran, 30 species of Odonata and numerous other forms of insects are inventorized. Awareness Programmes in BWCBC BWCBC is conducting various awareness programmes to the students from elementary level to Post Graduates. Around 100 individuals are visiting the BWCBC everyday.

SUBBU The “God Father” of NSTR (T10M) It is believed that Subbu - The God Father of Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve had its origin from Dornala Range of Project Tiger, Markapur and his territory of command is more than 250 sq km spreading over 3 ranges which is bigger than many Tiger Reserves. His territory is shared by 昀椀ve Tigresses as a subset. And, hence it is ascertained that Subbu is the father for numerous o昀昀springs. This dominant male had its last breath in the year 2020 due to old age health ailments. And it is named after Sri. Subba Rao, then Dy. Range O昀케cer and currently Forest Range O昀케cer G.V Palli who actively participated in Camera Trap exercise and stood up for conservation practices.

RANGA - The Revenant NSTR-T2M “Ranga” conquered the territory of Subbu (T10M) in the year 2016 and ruled the territory for more than 5 years. It is an unparalleled dominant male in the territory spanning around 285 sq km in Project Tiger Atmakur and Markapur. Supposedly, it interacted with many Tigresses and became the father of numerous o昀昀-springs. This majestic Tiger su昀昀ered with an acute face injury in the year 2021 and it is ascertained that the injury is due to internal 昀椀ght and its survival was doubted. However, it emerged back through self healing and now dominating Nekkanti and Srisailam blocks. It is named after Mr. Ranga Rao, Forest Range O昀케cer who passionately contributed his services for protection and conservation of wildlife.

Srisailam temple falls in the Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve which attracts pilgrims from di昀昀erent corners of the country. The auspicious deity at Srisailam is Mallikarjuna swamy, one of the Jyothirlinga and famous amoung the public from all over the country and one of the most visited temples by pilgrims in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Heroic legends from the Mahabharata and Ramayana are sculpted in stone of the temple walls and the Mahabarata epic refers to Srisailam as Sri Parvata – the blessed hill
Rudrakoti temple is located in Nallamala deep forests of Nandyal District and part of Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve.The presiding diety is Sri Rudrakoteshwara Swamy.The temple is located in a serene forests near to a perennial natural spring.This temple is part of Critical Tiger Habitat (ie) Core Area of NSTR.
Located at a distance of 20 km from Srisailam, Ista Kameswari Temple stands beautifully amid the lush greenery of forest and refreshing atmosphere. This ancient temple is visited not only by devotees but also by history enthusiasts. It is located inside a cave, which further adds to its enthralling charm. Dedicated to Goddess Ishtakameshwari, which is a name for Goddess Parvati.This temple dates back to 8th to 10th century.It is believed that a darshan of Devi at this temple can ful昀椀ll devotees’ wishes. The most striking feature of this temple is the idol of Goddess Ista Kameshwari Devi. The forehead of the Goddess is as soft as a human skin in spite of the fact that idol is made out of stone.
Nagarjunakonda is a historical town, now an island located in river krishna near to Nagarjuna Sagar in Palnadu district Andhra Pradesh.It is one of India’s oldest Buddhist sites, and now lies almost entirely under the lake created by the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam.With the construction of dam, the archaeological relics at Nagarjunakonda were submerged, and had to be excavated and transferred to higher land, which has become an island.
