Birds of NSTR There are 305 + bird species that have been recorded in NSTR.NSTR is one of the 昀椀nest birding destinations in Andhra Pradesh with dense forest zones, bamboo zones, grasslands, and wetlands that suits both the forest and wetland birds.NSTR is the breeding grounds for lot of resident and winter migrants. The interesting species of birds in the reserve are Indian Pitta, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Crested Treeswift, Streak-throated Woodpecker, Painted Sand Grouse, Black Eagle , Bonelli’s Eagle . The rare species in the tiger reserve are Spot Bellied Eagle-Owl, Lesser Adjutant Stork, Great Indian bustard , lesser 昀氀orican. Black Stork.The winter migrants in the reserve are Black Baza, Short Eared Owl, Eurasian Eagle Owl, Greater Spotted Eagle, Lesser Kestrel . In the year of 2022 one of the rarest 昀椀ndings, of Spot Bellied Eagle-Owl and Lesser Adjutant were discovered in NSTR. Both the 昀椀ndings are only the Second discovery in Andhra pradesh.
