2 FOREWORD Shakespeare said, I believe, “Brevity is the soul of wit” and Neil Gaiman said that short stories are journeys you can make to the far side of the universe and still be back in time for dinner. In addition, our students have abided by both these maxims and have produced some of the most wonderful pieces replete with their own art, their own characters and some of the most wonderful stories. I would like to congratulate the fantastic Home Room Teachers, on their stellar efforts to elicit this work from their students; the students, for their perseverance on this task every single day over many weeks; and to all our parents, who have supported our reading program and the development of reading skills at home. I do hope you will enjoy this book as much as we have all enjoyed creating it and this will occupy a proud place on your bookshelf for many years to come and, God willing, just the first in the many literary successes in the lives of our students.

Emelia’s wonderful adventure Vrinda.Nethaji PYP 5A Once upon a time there was a little princess called Emelia who dreamed of being a horse Champion but her parents denied her because her grades were low in her school. Emelia didn’t want her parents to control her so one night she snuck out and said, “I will be the best horse rider in the world, and I will let no one stop my dreams or my decisions”. Emelia was so happy when she saw the barn where they keep all the horses, she took her favorite horse and named it Emerald. She got scared when the wolves were so loud. So, she went back to the castle to get some torches but there was a problem. The torches were in her parents' room where they were sleeping so peacefully that even a roar from the loudest animal could not wake them up. Emelia was scared, she did not want to take the risk, so she checked other rooms, and finally a torch showed up as soon as she had entered the room “whoa what was that ' she said. As she took the torch a magical spirit came out and Emelia shouted so loud, she lost her voice. No one could hear her except the magical spirit. Emelia was so ashamed of herself because she snuck out without anyone knowing. She started to panic but she heard someone say, “follow me for you shall find your lost thing”. The noise was from the spirit, it said “I will help you find your lost thing but in return you must help me”. Emelia was confused but she did not care, the magical spirit heard what she said, and the torch turned into a necklace and the spirit disappeared. Emelia wore the necklace and suddenly the spirit came out. “What are you” said Emelia, the spirit replied “I am a creature of creation and destruction and I have helped many other holders in the past and in the present. Emelia got shocked and she remembered something else that the spirit said, “wait didn’t you say something about you helping me and in return I should help you”? The spirit didn’t want to say the answer for the question because all the holders before failed and the spirit is trusting Emelia, so the spirit said “you must help me find the ring of the black cat which grants the power of destruction and the earrings of the ladybug which grants the power of creation, if you succeed I will help you”. Emelia loved helping people so of course she said yes. Emelia packed her bags and got ready for the big journey ahead. The spirit said “the jewels that you must

find are easy, you must go to an island called Guam’s Tomas to find them. You will see them in a hut and go there at nighttime or else Guam will capture you, make sure to cover your face, on that island they always cover their faces and good luck to you”. Emelia did as the spirit said, first she sailed to the island then she wore a face mask. After she had arrived at the island it was noon she hid behind a tree until it was nighttime, and they were all sleeping. When she turned back and saw the village no one was outside, so she went into the hut the spirit told her. She went inside and opened a dusty large chest, she whispered “who puts two jewels in a large chest, never mind”. She got the jewels and ran back to her boat, she sailed back to her island and told the spirit “I got the ring and the earrings you said, now help me find my voice please !!!!!!!!!!!!!”. She really was in a hurry to get her voice back. “You will find your voice in a beehive where the bees produce magic honey. This is easier for you, there is a shop called honeys with bunnies. If you go there, they sell magic honey for 4 crores, and you can take it from your parents without them knowing,” said the spirit. “But I can’t sneak up on them my parents” she said, “you have no other option,” said the spirit. “Okay I’ll get the money, but can you help me please” she said, “sorry, but I shall not be seen by other human beings”. After that Emelia went into the castle and got 4 crores from the vault and as the spirit said she went to the shop and bought the magic honey and her voice got restored. The spirit said “thank you for your help. I now have the jewels that fell in the wrong hands.” Then it was the next morning Emelia came home and told her parents everything and how ashamed she was of herself. She promised them she would never do that again. And they all lived happily ever after.

A teen on holi Vihaan PYP 5A Holi is one day away, but I cannot play, because my parents said, I am too old for holi, so they ordered me to go get gulal, and a pichkari for my brother, Ved, on my cycle. I traveled in a 6km radius, but I could not find anything, so I had to travel a painstakingly long 10km to the famous city market, and I had to travel another 2km to get to the holi celebration stall. After a painstaking 12 km trip, I finally got my brother’s pichkari, and gulal, so I went to surprise him. “Ved, come down here, you have to get ready to go play, and I picked out some clothes for you.” I said (Spoiler: In Ved’s changing room there is his pichkari, gulal, and clothes) he asked, “Please show me the dress” I replied,” It’s in the dressing room.”. He gasped when he saw the pichkari, and gulal (and he thought in his head ‘those are good clothes’). He repeated again & again “Thank you, thank you, thank you, Thank you.” After thanking me, me and Ved went downstairs to play, after continuous rounds of Hide&Seek with his friends, and him, I said, “Let’s go up, Ved.” he protested “No ●¨m” I replied, we’re done burning Holika, and we’re done with Hide&Seek, and if you don’t sleep, you won’t be able to play holi, so let’s go sleep.”, he groaned and said “Touche”. Today’s holi, and I took a bath, so my brother wants to spray me more than anything, so I have to hide, so I went under the dining table, because it is bombarded with chairs, so I can see Ved, but he can’t see me, so this was the perfect place to hide, I brought my phone for obvious reasons. After some time, I had to go, but my brother was refilling his pichkari, so I had to wait. After a whole 5 minutes, he left, so I got out and went to the washroom. I was peacefully playing Among Us on silent, because my brother was storming every half an hour to fill his pichkari. Finally, at 12pm, he went to take a bath, so I won the holi hide.

One Small Story Taarush Saxena PYP 5A There once was a boy named Jack. The boy loved to draw and paint, and wanted to become an artist, he also was very creative, his family would have loved to support him, but his family was too poor to afford any of the costly materials, so as a result, he was very sad, yet he still tried to pursue his dream of becoming an artist. So then, 1 day in school, they announced that because of recent updates, they would have an art class, which made Jack very happy, but the school had said that they would have to buy the supplies by themselves, so this fact made Jack very, very sad. Knowing that his parents did not have enough money to buy the art supplies, he started doing odd jobs like, he worked at a café as a waiter, and on weekends he practiced his art with the very little supplies that he had. Then 1 one day, while he was working at the café, the manager suddenly came up to him and told him, he was fired, in confusion, he ask “why?”, then the manage said, because according to a friend of mine, you, my friend, HAVE BROKE 1 OF THE GLASSES!!! A shocked jack quietly left the place, determined to prove him wrong, to get enough money for his supplies. Instead of fully practicing art on weekends, he tried to figure out what happened too, turns out, after days of research, he found out that his friend was talking about another person! So then he returned to the café and told the manage with proof that it was someone else, and after that , he was rehired, he was very happy, and soon got the money for his art supply, and then a few years later, he became an artist and supported his family.

The lesson learned Satvik Dubey PYP 5A Once upon a time, there were two boys named Jishan and Rishith. They both loved playing basketball, but they were not very nice boys. They used to do bad things like bullying people and stealing stuff. They even spent the stolen things on arcade games. They thought they were being clever because nobody knew about their bad deeds. But, there was one good thing about Jishan and Rishith. They were smart and good at sports. They also listened to their parents because they were scared of getting into trouble with them. One day, while they were in their parents' room, they found their mother's favorite watch in her drawer. They thought it would be a good idea to sell it at a thrift shop. But, oh no! The police saw them doing this! The police asked for their address and took them there. Jishan and Rishith were scared because they knew they had done something wrong. When they reached home, the police asked if they should punish the boys. But, their mom said no. She saved them from getting punished. Jishan and Rishith felt bad for what they did. They promised their mom that they would never do such things again. From that day on, they decided to be good boys and listen to their parents. They learned that it's important to be honest and not to take things that don't belong to them.

She knows Riya PYP 5A There once was a girl named Jane. She was used to hearing many rumors about her being a member of the illuminati, even though they did not know if illuminati were real or not. Jane was a very quiet girl who never spoke to anyone else other than Allisa, her best friend. Sometimes even Allisa thought Jane was always acting sketchy. Somehow, she knew anything and everything, you ask her a question that does not have an answer, she would instantly reply to you. Everyone found that a bit creepy about her, but they decided that she would not be given this piece of Info. One gloomy day, this bully named Jack decided to tease her. So, he went ahead and started saying, “hey kid you part of illuminati or something? Cause you to be knowing the answer to everything “. Then he started making fun of her triangle birthmark saying, “ew... looks like you really are part of illuminati, look at that ugly mark on your face!”. Just then the teacher came and saw this and said, “jack enough! I have proof for your parents to see that you have been bullying. Plus, Jane has that mark because she had surgery when she was small. At least, she studies and aces her exam, forget studying you barely come to school and on the days, you do come you spend it doing tomfoolery “. And then she says, “THAT’S IT I AM TAKING YOU TO THE PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE IN LUNCH”. Now Jane finally says “thank the lords that Ms. Marie saved me from jack Anyway, bestie, it is time for home now! Byeeeeee". The way she said bye was not so Jane to Allisa, but she did not want to interfere with Jane’s personal life, so she decided to stay quiet. Now Jack was sound asleep but just then he suddenly heard a creaking noise. He woke up to see what was going on when the walls cracked and three creepy, one- eyed people started showing up and one of them said, “remember me jack? I am Jane, in the illuminati language they know me as, Ja9 “. And she continued “I am the new leader of illuminati, and now I shall showcase my extreme power, and take payback on how much you have bullied me ever since I joined that rigged human school. Even Allisa does not know that I am not human.” “Are you ready to face your consequences? I am not going to take no for an answer “. And then suddenly Jack wakes up, tense & petrified. And then he took a sudden sigh of relief saying,” thank the great heavens, that was just a terrible nightmare”.

The Quest of the Magical magic Rifa Fatima PYP 5A Once there were two little girls called Ruby and Stephine. They did not know each other until they met at a library. Ruby & Stephine loved reading, and both loved to go to libraries. There was a local library where the two loved to go. One time they were going to the library and bumped into each other because they were reading the same book series! The book series was called The Missing Paw Prints. Ruby & Stephine decided to share the book and read it together. Both of them would come every day and read the same books, and in no time both girls became awesome friends. They both started going to the same school, having the same clothes, getting the same marks in assessments and much more. As those two had a lot in common everyone said they should be sisters. So, Stephine and Ruby created a game called F.A.M.I.L.Y in the game Ruby would be the little sister and Stephine would be the older one and others would be imaginary. Both of them loved to play this game. They always played it in the library after everyone would go. They would both play their game every day. A few days passed by, and Ruby and Stephine decided to go on a trip together, they were going to Paris. They had a great time. But once they came back, they decided to play their game again but while they were playing Ruby accidentally bumped into a door and fell inside. When Ruby fell Stephine was helping her up and when they looked In Front they saw a massive library. Though Ruby and Stephine did not know about the big adventure ahead of them. Once they entered, they were looking at all the types of books that were there, they saw almost all the books were mostly about things that are impossible like being invisible, teleportation, spells Ruby tried the invisibility spell and it worked so they knew this was going to be a long adventure. Both came there everyday trying to find out how this opened and how to keep it a secret because this was a big problem. While they were researching the spells, they were also scared of what would happen to them if they used it wrong. Eventually both got used to the spells so they were like 99 percent sure that nothing could possibly go wrong. But the next day the magic got out of hand and made a giant portal sucking everything up like people, cars, trucks, pets, furniture and more Ruby and Stephine knew they had to stop them

and put a giant risk of revealing that magic is real but what they didn’t know was that they were not alone. Turns out while figuring out what to do Stephine saw a little figure and realized that they were using magic, so they decided to go and talk to them and fix this giant problem. After discussing they had a plan their plan worked out just how they planned it, and the people were saved. But what happened to people and other things that were sucked in? This was going to be another new mystery. They knew they had to open the portal again and go in and get all the people, pets, and furniture but then they would get trapped. So, Ruby had an idea she said, “Since it’s too hard for one person to go so we’ll have to send 3 people”. They tried and tried to open the portal, but it did not open, after a few tries they finally opened it. Their plan was to tie rope on their waist, go in , get all the stuff and get pulled out, so they decided to send Ruby, Stephine and the new one Avery. Their mission was hard, but they did not give up, they all grabbed all the furniture and took it out and then the people, pets etc. Their mission was a success. They were trying to close the portal, but it was not closing. They went in and checked if they had left anything behind Ruby went in to check they had left one big sofa. Ruby pulled it out and then they tried to close the portal again, but it did not close. They did not know why they checked and checked one by one but there was nothing left after Stephine came out, they saw a big hand come out of the portal but when they tried to move it the hand would not budge so they did not know what type of filthy/horrible creature they must fight this time. They realized that this was not normal, and they had to get it out, though surprisingly the portal closed, and the hand was gone. They did not know what had happened, but they did not mind since it was over. They returned all the furniture back to their respective owners. They all fixed everything with their magic powers and knew this journey was going to end soon. They packed everything and went to get some ice cream together as a last goodbye before all of them split up. They had a great time and decided to call every day. They all took a nice scroll down town they all were playing in the park, cycling, skateboarding, playing board games, watching TV , playing with animals at the animal park, having coffee at Starbucks, going to the beach, learning how to drive, they all had done so much in one day but sadly the day was coming to an end they all did not want to say goodbye but they had to they all promised to call every day and talk so that they would not feel lonely they all said goodbye and left.

The life of Cristiano Ronaldo Prithvi Narayan reddy PYP 5A Cristiano Ronaldo's full name is Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro. He was born in Portugal, in a city called Funchal, on the island of Madeira. When Cristiano was young, he had a temper. Once, he got so angry with his teacher for disrespecting him and his family that he threw a chair. Because of this, he got expelled from school. Football became his only hope. He joined the Sporting CP academy, a place where young kids learn to play football. Cristiano and his friend were really good at it. One day, their coach said that whoever scored the most goals in a match would stay at the academy and become the best. During the match, Cristiano scored one goal, and his friend scored one too. The score was tied, 1-1. Then, Ronaldo's friend passed the ball to him, and Cristiano scored another goal. That moment changed his life forever. Since then, Cristiano Ronaldo's life has been full of football. He became a famous football player known all over the world. He played for big teams like Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. He also played for his country, Portugal, in many international matches. Cristiano Ronaldo is not just famous for scoring goals. He's also known for being really fast, strong, and skilled with the ball. People admire him for his hard work and dedication to football. From throwing chairs in anger to scoring goals in stadiums filled with cheering fans, Cristiano Ronaldo's journey is an inspiring one. He showed that with determination and talent, you can achieve your dreams, no matter where you start.

The Prisoner who created Lamborghini Neil Prabhu PYP 5A Today, Lamborghini celebrates its 105th anniversary and the new Lamborghini Revuelto is the car introduced for its celebration. But you might wonder how Lamborghini is 105 years old. Well, it kicked off on 28 April 1916, a boy named Ferrucio Lamborghini was born. He was born on a farm in the rural town of Renazzo, Italy. Ferruccio parent used grapes to make wine for a living. His parents taught him to make quality products. He was more interested in fixing their tractors than managing the farm. Ferruccio chose to explore his passion and studied mechanics at the Fratelli Taddia technical institute. Ferruccio never looked back after graduating. He wanted to impress a major factory that he had his eyes on, which was Cavalier Righi in Bologna. At that time, the factory was working on maintaining the Italian army’s vehicles. Then he returned to his hometown of Renazzo. There he opened a workshop in 1934. Then the Second World War hit and Ferruccio tore away from his carefree life. He was taken away and was forced to work as a mechanic in Greece. 3 years later Italy surrendered. Then Germany took over. Then Ferruccio asked “I’d like to open my own workshop.” 2 years later they took everybody as prisoners including Ferruccio. When they discovered Ferruccio's technical aptitude, they got him to work on fixing their vehicles. 1 year later in 1946 they allowed him to leave. His wife Clelia Lamborghini passed away while giving birth to their only child:Tonino. Afterwards, Ferruccio kept himself busy at his workshop, where he mostly fixed pre-war vehicles, lorries and tractors. But one day, he received an urgent request from his father that changed the course of his life. “I need a new tractor” Ferruccio’s father requested. Ferruccio was struck with a realization. Italy desperately needed to increase its agricultural production to recover from the war. But he needed better equipment to make that possible. Armed with experience working with allied and axis vehicles, Ferruccio brought leftover military equipment and used it to make new tractors. They were built with an old British Morris engine and modified to run on cheap diesel instead of expensive petrol. Later, Ferrucio started a tractor manufacture called Lamborghini Tractors. In 1951 while his tractors were in demand, he needed more capital for production. So, his father used his farm as collateral for a loan. The risk Ferrucio and his father took paid for in more ways than they both could have imagined. Soon after the company became one of the largest manufacturers of its kind in Italy. Ferruccio celebrated his success with tasty food, fine wine, and fast cars. He

even started to collect Maserati’s, Mercedes, Jaguars, and Ferraris but none of them completely satisfied him. He was particularly disappointed with his Ferrari 250 GT since the clutch would always break down. One day, he brought the Ferrari to his mechanic for repairs. Ferruccio discovered that the clutch was identical to the one which fitted onto one of his tractors. This did not sit well with him since he paid 10 euros for his tractor clutch and 1,000 euros for his Ferraris clutch. Later, he told Enzo Ferrari who is the founder of Ferrari about the imperfections he found in his car. Along with the clutches needing frequent repairs, they were considered too noisy and rough on the roads. Enzo brushed Ferruccio off and insisted that the problem was not the car, it was him. “You are a tractor driver, you shouldn’t complain about our cars,” said Enzo Ferrari, “They’re the best in the world.” “Yes, I am a farmer, but I will show you how a sports car should be,” said Ferruccio. Ferruccio went home to prove what he was capable of. Many called his conquest crazy and believed he would squander his fortune. Still, Ferruccio forged ahead and started a new company under his name: Lamborghini. He hired 3 ex-employees of Ferrari and bought a large plot of land to build a factory. It is just 9 months and Ferruccio completed his first sports car featuring his astrological sign as the emblem: Lamborghini 350 GT. It was considered a technical masterpiece and included a V12 engine, five–speed transmission, four-wheel disk brakes, and four-wheel independent suspension. The car was praised by customers and critics. Ferruccio proved to his doubters and Enzo that he was not just a farmer but also a mechanical genius capable of building superior cars. Over the years Ferruccio’s tractors and sports car businesses flourished in 1966. When it came to designing new models, Ferruccio gave his engineers freedom to experiment. This leadership style led to his team building the 400 GT and a secret project: the Miura P400. It was the first race car to be made with a rear mid-engine layout. It was kept a secret from Ferruccio since he was against the idea of building race cars. Ferruccio entered a race where he raced and crashed into the side of a restaurant. When Ferruccio found out, he decided not to scrap the idea. It turned out to be one of the best decisions he made. The Miura became the world's first supercar. Ferruccio continued making more celebrated models: the Espada, the Islero, the Jarama, Urraco, and the Countach. They were said to be superior to the other sports cars since they did not use anyone else’s parts. And the Countach was said to be the most written about car in history. Unfortunately, Ferruccio’s success stopped after facing a series of events beyond his control. A deal to supply Bolivia with 5000 tractors got canceled after the country faced a coup. The loss forced Ferrucio's tractor company and 51% of his Automobile Lamborghini shares. The stock market began to crash. After the crisis he gave his son Tomino Lamborghini a heating company he owned, and his son became successful and rich. Afterward Lamborghini was forced to liquidate. In 1981 the Italian government sold it for $3 million to two French billionaires: Robert Mimran and Patrick Mimran. Audi agreed to buy the company in need of greater attention to processes and product quality. In the 21st century they made the company successful again. They made the models Gallardo, Urus which was an SUV and Aventador. Then Volkswagen Group bought it. They then made scissor doors for attractiveness. The next model was the Lamborghini Huracan. Then it was Lamborghini’s 100th anniversary so they created the Lamborghini Veneno and Sian to celebrate. Then now Lamborghini’s 105th anniversary started from Ferruccio who was a farmer then made a tractor manufacture, then a sports car which stock market went up and down after when he died, it was passed on

to US, Indonesia, Audi and now at Volkswagen group creating supercars and hyper cars. Ferruccio was a great man who was just a farmer and created his own car and competed with Enzo Ferrari.

The mystery of the missing painting Nathan PYP 5A Hi I'm Santiago, you might know from my last book the mystery of the blood moon, but today's mystery is not outside space but in the famous museum of France this was a bit tricky because there were so many people in plan ok let me start from the start, so I was peacefully sleeping. When my alarm clock rang, I was woken up from my peaceful sleep and got mad. But I saw my calendar and realized I had to go to France. I was really excited. I jumped out of my bed, took a bath and brushed my teeth. Until it was white wore the most fashionable clothes because duh got to look good. I went in the taxi, got inside, did the check in and boarded the plane. It took ages to reach there. I called a taxi and they picked me up and I reached the Museum. It was majestic. I saw paintings and artifacts but so many people were crowded for the Mona Lisa. because it was one of the most popular paintings, we heard a loud voice. It was the museum handler and he “told us we had a very special guest” I was confused who it was but then they called my name out. and asked me to come on. I went on stage and they asked me what was your favorite thing in the museum. I said it was the Mona Lisa but right. when I heard a loud scream I looked to check what it was and I saw the Mona Lisa MISSING!! How is that possible? Then everybody panicked, there was an alarm and a loud noise told everybody to evacuate. Then everybody ran away, even the handler told me to come inside. and I saw five policemen and 3 agents. They said that this is a new case to solve. They needed me, I happily accepted, and I went to the painting. There was a glass mirror inside which was really strong. How did they get the painting? The glass wasn’t even broken and then I opened my bag and took out a brush. I rubbed it on the side and voila! I saw fingerprints. I checked the bottom of the glass. Then there was a big gap. I asked the police to scan this fingerprint and track some suspects and the machine was a little faulty. There were 11 suspects so it would take a long time. First we asked them to come to the questioning room. We made all 11 of them come and then we asked them all one question. And tied a lie detector to them the question was were you there when it was stolen we didn’t explain. Which painting they said no or I don’t know the last person said no I wasn’t there when the Mona Lisa was stolen we caught our suspect we forced him to tell us where it was he gave us the address he told only I will go there or the more stuff in the France museum will be stolen I agreed and I went to that area and I saw 7 Mona Lisas. WHAT!! I searched the painting and saw FINGERPRINTS. I took it to the museum the put extra protection and everything was okay I still wonder did I pick the correct one.Based on a true story

Superheroes Mayukha PYP 5A “Hey! Come back here” yelled an old lady as a thief stole her purse, and Eléa was watching all of this. She could not just stand there, she had to do something about it. She leaped into the air and in turn kicked the bag out of the crook's hand then chased him down the streets while the old lady picked up her bag wondering who this girl was. Elea finally caught up with the thief and grabbed him. She kept a firm grip with all her strength meanwhile the police arrived and she handed him over to them. Later in the evening at a café Elea was talking to her best friend Naomi, “you should’ve seen me today morning I knocked down that purse easily and I was really fast, I guess those martial arts lessons are paying off” said Elea “yeah, I wish I was there but anyways I know your skills and I think you have an opportunity to put them to good use” replied Naomi and Elea questioned “huh? The local heroes were a team of people that kept a watch out in their community and helped whenever they could they were kind of like police but they preferred heroes, it was Naomi’s turn and the judges were very impressed with the way she could quickly move and her martial arts but she accidentally knocked over a civilian dummy on the last challenge so she couldn’t make it in and Elea save some test targets in time so they both got disqualified and they were so disappointed that all their practice and hard work didn’t help them win, but they both realized that there are many ways to help people and like Naomi said before a hero doesn’t need superpowers

they just have to want to help people and with a determination like that we can help a lot of people or animals. The Clever Rooster Krisha PYP 5A Once upon a time, a clever fox was living in a forest. One day he was roaming around, inside the forest searching for food. Suddenly, he spotted a fine rooster seated on the highest branch of a tree. The rooster was looking at the dense forest surrounding him. The fox realised that he could not climb up the tree to kill and eat the rooster, so he started thinking, “How can I get this rooster and have him for my meal? If l request him to come down from the tree, he won’t trust my motives.” The fox thought of a trick and cunningly said to the rooster, “Dear friend, why are you sitting so high up on the tree? Are you afraid of someone? Do you not know what the king of the forest has decided in a meeting with all the animals today?” “No, I have no clue. Can you please explain to me what the king said?” asked the rooster. The fox continued, “The decision he made says that from now onwards, animals and birds are not allowed to kill one another for meals. So, no big fish is allowed to eat the smaller fish.” The rooster sensed something fishy about this. “This couldn’t be true,” the rooster thought. “Does that mean the lions, tigers, and leopards will begin feeding on grass from today?” the rooster asked the fox. My trip to Goa Keya PYP 5A Keya (me), My Mamu, My Mami, My Mom, My Father, My Brother, and My Cousin Do you like vacations in hot places? If you do, Do you want to hear about my vacation on a beach? What are you waiting for? Let us start. My family and I arrived in Goa and took a taxi to reach our hotel. After a while we finally reached our hotel, we went to the Candolim beach to eat some lunch and I could not walk a single step in that weather! After eating I felt better and since our table was right next to the beach, we thought why don’t we spend some time together on the beach for a while and so we did. We stood in the water and soon headed back to our hotel. We got ready since we were going out for dinner. When we got there, we started ordering food, we were all starving! I got some ice cream, but not any ordinary ice cream, I ordered rolled ice cream! It was my first time eating rolled ice cream, so I was so excited! We were all tired, and it was a long day, so we went back and had a good sleep. We woke up and had a buffet breakfast and the food was delicious. My mom and I then stood beside the water in the shallow part of the beach, and we went further inside a sudden wave splashed us and we fell! Luckily, nothing happened. I swam in the pool for some time and had something to drink meanwhile my mom was sitting on a sun lounger. As I swam, I saw some floats, so I decided why not sit in the float for a few minutes. As I sat my brother came and splashed me out of nowhere! We were having a fight trying to get each other's float. We started to feel hungry, so we ordered some fries and nuggets. We ate lunch at a place called Monteiro Vaddo. I did an activity called water zorbing and went parasailing. I had a Japanese dinner at a place called Yasu. We went back to our hotel and went to sleep. We shifted to the hotel Taj Aguada. We got there and ordered lunch in the room. We relaxed in the room till evening. We went to get a drink and came back to our room. We were getting ready to go to a place called Dubki and saw the sun set. We walked around and did some

shopping, but my mom went to a salon. My father, my brother and I got some clothes. While heading back we ate some ice cream. It was a cool place since it had a swing on the outside. We all went to sleep then. We went for a morning swim, and it was so refreshing! My father and brother played some pool and chess. My brother and I had to leave then since we were going to do outdoor activities in the hotel. We came back and watched a series since we were getting bored. We all then went to see Fort Aguada. It was crowded but had an amazing view. We ate some street snacks on the way like corn and their special juice Kokum juice. We then went to sleep. We were shifting hotels to Haathi Mahal since we were then supposed to meet my cousin, my mamu, and my mami. On the way we went to see a church. After a long ride to the hotel, we met everyone. I went to a play area with my cousin. Then we went to eat pizza. We all went to sleep then. My brother, my mom, my cousin, and I went swimming in the jacuzzi. We had a good breakfast. We then went to the beach. My cousin enjoyed it so much on the beach. We made sandcastles and stood in the sea. We went to a Goan restaurant, and I played with my cousin after eating. We went to the bouncy house and played there. My cousin sat on the rocking horse, and she played in the ball pit. We swam in the jacuzzi again and then we went out to a bar restraunt. Krisha moved to LA, where she met Keya and Rifa. Let me tell you how they met. Krisha and her mother went to explore LA after settling in. They went to a mall named H&M, where they met Keya and Rifa. Keya and Rifa were thinking, "Could she be in our class? She looks like our slay style." Keya and Rifa went to Krisha, talked to her, and they became best friends. They shared their hobbies: Krisha's hobby is gymnastics, Keya's hobby is music, and Rifa's hobby is art. They became Best Girlfriends (BGF). They hung out oftenly, and last week they planned to go to a mall. They begged their parents to let them go, and luckily, they said yes, but with a condition that there should be an adult with them. The three friends, who were 14 years old, were surprised and said, "What is literally wrong with you?" At last, they agreed. Keya's mom was chosen to accompany them. They got ready at Keya's house, and after 30 minutes, they went in Keya’s car. Keya had a plan; she whispered to Krisha and Rifa. They all agreed to the plan, and when they reached the mall, they executed it. They enjoyed a lot and thanked their parents. They planned to hang out again in an escape room. Krisha suggested sneaking out when their parents were working. They needed money, so they decided to take some from their parents' table. They agreed on the plan and had lots of fun. However, Keya had some sad news; she was shifting away. She told her friends, and everyone felt sad. They bid a sad goodbye to Keya, but they happily lived ever after.

The Quest of Time Dhruva PYP 5A Once there were 2 brothers, Jimmy and Timmy. Jimmy is the younger brother. He likes to play more outdoor games, he loves to trek, and play with his friends. He loves dogs very much, but unfortunately his dad and Mom did not get one even though Jimmy asked for it multiple times. Jimmy and Timmy were back from school and their mom asked them about how it went in the school. Timmy said his math's assessment was fine, and he performed well. She turned to Jimmy and asked how his assessment went. Jimmy knew this question was coming to him, he turned away and was acting as if he couldn’t listen to his mom properly. She asked him again, holding his shoulders and looking into his eyes. Jimmy thought that he had no choice and mentioned to his mom that his assessment was not that great. He missed answering many questions. Mom said, well that’s expected as you never practiced enough, and you spent the whole week playing outside. She said, after freshening up I would like you to start practicing math’s problems. Jimmy expressed as if he didn’t like to do it. But he had no choice and he started to get into his room and pick up the math’s book. He looked up to his big poster on the wall, there was a Cairn Terrier breed dog which looked exceptionally beautiful. He looked down at his book and started to work on the math problems. He went down to play in the play area along with his brother and returned home after 2 hrs and was tired. Before going to bed, he stared at the stars through his window, and it looked amazing outside with the moon shining brightly. He felt someone waking him up in the middle of the night, he woke up and looked around. The room was beautifully decorated and lights around with the window open and a cool breeze touching him. The color was white and the eyes were dark blue and the outside is very soft when you touch the dog , and the name was Tom. So Timmy and Jimmy went to school now. Usually Timmy gets bullied a lot in school so his brother has to come all the time to stop getting his brother bullied after school mom came and asked how was your day.

All of them got worried after they went to find the dog. Timmy found a curios green emerald lying on the road it was very bright and it was carved out of a shape of a ruby and it was shiny to like a diamond and gold to it was really precious and rare to for the stone Timmy showed this to mom and said look mom I found a green stone mom said oh ok but what they didn't know is that you can travel to time and rescue their dog. Then they started to worry a lot about their dog after they went home. After they went home Timmy accidently touched the stone and went to a wizard then he asked what stone this is he asked Timmy. And he said this is a time stone you can travel to time. Really said Timmy! And then he said yes so then he sent him home and Timmy said we can finally find our dog so he said to everybody that we can find our dog, so they all went to the time travel after that they found the location of where they went and saw the dog it was just. Sitting there not moving at all but then they forgot that they didn't lock the car. Then the dog started running somewhere. It rained near a cave sitting there and then it was asking for a treat. That’s because he is starving and that’s why he got out so they took the dog as quickly as they ran to the house to give them food. Then he started to bark in front of them and they were happy to see their dog for so long. And the dog started to hug everybody and they were happy to see the dog so they started having fun. They went to the park.They started playing fetch and took a ball and started throwing it around. The leather ball was a cricket ball. His father he thought how to bowl a cricket ball. A spin ball to make more people out and also how to bat if you're in a Tricky situation. How to do cover drives and do air shots up high in the sky so you can do sixes so you can win. Then how to field and to be a good catcher without falling out of its hand. And he started playing cricket with his friends and became good at cricket. Timmy decided to go to the inter house, everybody supported him to go and show how good he was. At 11:00 am he went to the pitch where they started the match. The match was very tight, but they still went for it.

None of your business Hey guys mom and dad are calling said Cloyd, coming the trio said when they came downstairs, they saw the grim face of their mother, mum what is going on I am sorry kids, but your father and I need to go on business trip in Texas so the trip to Mexico is canceled, NOOOOOOOOO!!! But you will go for vacation to your aunt Isabella’s house, MOM THAT’S EVEN WORSE!!!!!!! She is so mean and rude to us. I’m sorry kids but it's already been decided, we leave tomorrow morning. The next morning the quad made their way to their aunt’s house who greeted them with a fake smile. Well, I guess we should go now, said the parents of the children, be good to your aunt, okay kids, they put out a long sigh... fine. After their parents left the four had a good look of her nasty face. Now let me describe this horrible looking woman to you. She had greasy hair and incredibly large pimples on her nose and forehead. The four kids felt incredibly frightened for after all they were only little kids, so what could they do to such a humongous nasty woman like this? That’s five days in solitary for you with no food or water and no interaction with the outside world. Said Percey, oh you want to join him, do you? Well okay wait WHAT!!! Then she pulled him up by the ear as well. She was a kind and gentle girl who loved animals. Her greatest wish was to have a pet of her own. One day, her wish came true when her parents surprised her with two adorable ragdoll kittens - Cherry and Blossom. Anna was overjoyed and immediately fell in love with her new furry friends. She spent every waking moment playing with them, cuddling them, and taking care of them. The kittens, on the other hand, were just as happy to be in their new home with Anna. As time went by, Anna noticed that Cherry and Blossom had a special bond. They did everything together, from playing hide and seek to napping in the sun. They were inseparable. Anna was amazed by their friendship and wished she could have a bond like that with someone. One day, Anna and her kittens went for a walk in the park. Detective Ted and The Stolen Necklace Aarav Anand PYP 5A Stealing is bad because it belongs to someone and not to you. Also, it is a loss to both the owner as well as the thief. Stealing is morally and ethically wrong. It was a very sunny morning, and the roads were empty. In the corner of Trafalgar Square Street in London, there was an old museum named George’s Egyptian Museum. The museum was three hundred feet tall. The museum was painted in deep brown shade and the roof of the museum was light brown in color. It had big Roman windows that was painted in black. The owner of the museum, Mr. George was a tall and thin man. He looked very handsome and fair. Mr. George received a precious necklace from Egypt that worn by the famous Egyptian queen Cleopatra VII. The necklace looked so magnificent and was glittering with diamonds on it. It had a diamond shaped pearl inside a circular pendant. It was full of blue diamonds and a pearl that was pinkish in color. After a few days, on a very dark night, a thief broke into the museum through the backside gate. He entered the second floor of the museum and saw the glittering and sparkling necklace inside a glass box. He took his hammer and broke the glass. He took the necklace but suddenly the security alarm started beeping. The thief immediately jumped out of the window and escaped from the museum. The guards of the museum reported to the police that the necklace got lost. Mr. George had a friend called Ted, a popular detective of the city.

Ted used his tricks and his magnifying glass to find the footprints of the thief and followed it. It took him to a small tree house where the thief was hiding behind a tree. Ted caught the thief and took the necklace from him. He safely returned the necklace to Mr. George. At the same time, he handed over the thief to the police officer. Mr. George felt very thankful and appreciated Ted for all the help.

That's how football started! It's like a huge party where everyone plays together. There's this guy named Walter Camp. He's the one who made up football. He probably thought, "Hey, let's make a game where we kick a ball into the other team's goal!" Cool, right? But wait, before our time, there was another kind of football called "folk football." They played it in villages and on country roads. It was super fun, but they had just a few rules. Now, let's talk about the stars! Ever heard of Cristiano Ronaldo? Lionel Messi? Neymar Jr.? They're like superheroes in football. They score so many goals! Then there are players like Sergio Ramos and Jordi Alba. They're like shields, stopping the other team from scoring. In football, you play with a team. Each team has different players doing different things. Some try to score goals, some try to stop the other team, and some pass the ball to their friends. The Village Sukruth V PYP 5A Once upon a time, in a little village nestled between rolling green hills, there lived a group of friendly folks. The village was small, with cozy cottages and a big, bustling market square in the middle. Every morning, the villagers would wake up to the sound of birds chirping and the smell of freshly baked bread from the bakery. They would greet each other with warm smiles and friendly waves as they went about their day. The children in the village loved to play outside in the fields and meadows, chasing butterflies and flying kites. Sometimes, they would gather by the old oak tree to listen to stories told by the village elder. The village had everything the people needed. There was a small school where the children learned to read, write, and count. There was also a tiny clinic where the kind village doctor would take care of anyone who fell sick. The boy who was tempered Ankit Achan PYP 5A Once upon a time, there was a boy named Rashford. He had a problem: he got very angry easily. When he got mad, he would hit things or yell. His dad didn't like seeing Rashford so upset all the time. So, he came up with a plan. He told Rashford, "Every time you get angry, hammer a nail into the wall." At first, Rashford was hammering nails into the wall every day. He hammered so many nails that the wall looked bumpy! But as time went on, Rashford started to get better at controlling his temper. He didn't get angry as much, so he hammered fewer nails. Then, one day, Rashford realized something. He told his dad, "Dad, I haven't hammered any nails in a long time!" His dad smiled and said, "That's great! From now on, every day you don't get angry, take out one nail." For a whole year, Rashford worked hard. Every day, he removed a nail from the wall. And finally, after a whole year, all the nails were gone! Excitedly, Rashford went to tell his dad. But when his dad came home, he noticed something. The wall was full of holes from all the nails Rashford had hammered in. His dad asked Rashford if he could fix it, but Rashford sadly said he couldn't. Then, his dad said something important: "When you hurt someone, that damage can never heal." The moral of the story is: it's important to control your temper and not hurt others, because the damage it causes can't always be fixed.

The store that has everything Rudraksh Kamdar PYP 5A Once upon a time there was a man named Tom and he worked at a store. The store sold everything and if you wanted something you would have to stand in a short line and right now there were four people in line. The first person named Tim Burr said that do you have a lamp where the base of it looks like a dog and the lamp shade is made out real grass and the light bulb is made from wood. It might sound like a lot but I really need it. I broke mine then Tom replied that sure we got this he took out an iPad and with a few clicks of button some one came to give it too Tim Burr .The next person who came was named Phill Itup and he told tom he needed a very long led light and he told the light’s colour should be bled (if you did not know bled is a mix of blue and red) and he also said if the light could dance and so Tom said your telling me you want a led light that is the colour bled and that can dance ? Phill Itup said that yes why do you not have it ? Tom replied we have it do not worry a bit but we have special offer you can get a bled color led light that can sing and dance for a price of any regular led! Phill Itup immediately agreed and so Tom took out the iPad and then with a few clicks it was there the bled light which could sing and dance Phill said thanks and then left in excitement saying with this I can solve all the world problems running out the door. Then there was Justin Case and he needed a car so he could fly to the moon and find super smart aliens who could teach him the ways of being super smart and JUST IN CASE he finds out the aliens were bad guys he wanted super cool missiles that could work in space he told this exact thing to tom and he was like can you please make this happen Tom was like relax your car should be there in a week Justin Case went running outside saying yes yes yes !!

Then finally there was Joe King and he said to tom this should be easy for you I would like a mug a plain white mug which I could paint on then Tom replied that okay he took out the iPad and he was clicking the ipad but it was making a buzz sound whenever he tried to look for a mug it kept saying we do not having this item yet so Tom said instead of a plaim white mug would you like mug soup the flavour is jackmelo (it is a jackfruit combined with a melon) Joe King said thanks I am good I just really need that cup soon then Tom Said umm what about a t shirt launcher that also works with mugs then Joe King said if I said yes I would be JOKING with you right now then it looked tom ran to a warehouse where they store all their stuff while Tom ran to the warehouse; someone else went to help Joe and that person’s name was Delia and then Joe King said I am in a rush right now so can I have a jetpack fuelled by sugar. Delia said okay with a click or two from the iPad then a minute later it was there so Joe kept it on his back and flew up in the air while breaking the roof of the store the end.

The great alien invasion By Vedant Sarma PYP 5B Chapter 1 The TRIP Today is the day Ben finally gets to go on his trip to Japan. Ben was excited, already packed up, so he took the 2- hour car drive to the airport. As he entered the airport, he felt like it was a dream because it was Ben's first time on a plane trip, so he was super excited. He kept on annoying his mom by saying, "How much longer?"' finally, they got past security and went to the boarding area. It was a long wait. His mother said that she needed to go to the washroom. Ben said 'ok 'and started to wait; meanwhile, an old person who looked homeless approached him and said," They are coming soon. You shall not go there if you do; bad things will happen." Ben could not finish his sentence before he ran away. Ben thought about it: should he listen to him, or should he go the way he was and go to the flight? He thought about it for some time before choosing to go with the way he was and take the flight; by the time he chose, his mother had returned, and it was boarding time. He went to the plane and was amazed after the 8-hour flight to Japan he went to go and find a cab, not much surprise, but he was a bit scared about what the older man said, but he forgot about it when he reached the hotel, he jumped in bed and started to watch some TV. Chapter 2 The news Ben was watching the TV until the news came and it said, "Breaking news!! Aliens have come to Earth, and they are huge things that can erase humanity. We have tried to fight back, but we failed. Go home, close all the windows, make no sound, and stay dark. When Ben heard, he was scared and quickly told his mother about it. His mother did not believe it until his father told the mother that it was happening. They got scared, covered all the windows, and maintained silence. A few years later They had been living like this for years, and then, suddenly, the door slammed, and they saw an alien.

Chapter 3 The first fight with the alien The alien went one step until Ben ran into him, punching him continuously, but the alien did not feel anything. The alien and Ben flew to the wall, but the alien teleported and returned. Both the mother and father tried to kill them, but they were badly injured afterwards, and he came to the hospital. Chapter 4 The second fight with the alien Ban asked the doctor why he was there. The doctor responded, "' You have got some internal bleeding." Ben asked, "How and where are my parents?" the doctor did not respond and just stared at him and then all of a sudden, the windows broke, and the time changed, and then the aliens came back this time Ben could hit them, but the aliens are more powerful, and Ben did not stand a chance so everyone suggested they had to escape and then Ben said 'we can't escape we have to fight 'he got angry until he went as fast as he could and started to fight the aliens. The aliens tried to shoot at him, but they couldn't hit Ben, since Ben kept moving until some water spilt and the alien contacted the water and died. Ben shouted," I FOUND THE ALIENS WEAKNESS". Chapter 5 The making of the secret base and the plan Ben found an abandoned home far from anything and started brainstorming on what to do. It took him a few hours until he got an idea: he would make a plane, put a lot of salt in it and fly it while dropping the salt; it would rain because the clouds would overfill and then all the aliens would go away. But first, he needed a plane, so he went to the abandoned shop and found a lot of metal. He studied some books in school about how to make a plane, etc. And finally, after working days, he made a plane but could not test it because he needed salt and a lot of salt. But good for him, there were many abandoned stores near him, so he took all the salt and got ready to fly it, but wait, where would he put the salt? He thought until he felt like just throwing them in containers so it would rain. He tried to fly the plane. Initially, it flew properly, but unfortunately, the plane blasted, putting all the salt away. All the aliens were unaware of his plan, so they were nearby, and it started raining everywhere. All the aliens died, but so did Ben. Ben made, the world better and safe, thanks to Ben.

Football By Shivansh Manandhar PYP 5B Once upon a time, in a small town, a group of friends loved to play football together. They would practice every day and dream to be a professional football player. One summer a famous football coach was in town and noticed the talent of the young boys. He organized a tournament and invited teams from all over the country to come and compete with these young boys. The local team, lead was led by Captain Jack who worked tirelessly to prepare for the tournament. They practice passing, shooting, dribbling, and skills every day. They developed a strong team spirit. On the day of the tournament, the local team was nervous but excited to show off their skills. They played against tough teams from other towns, but they never gave up. They played with all their heart to win and support each other off and on the field. They were determined to win. In the end, the local team made it to the final match against the best team in the tournament. The match was intense, and their teams were tied 1-1 up to the local team 95 min the local team goalkeeper saved and cleared the ball the left winger got it and passed the striker and passed to the defender scored a bicycle kick and won leading his team to victory. The local team celebrates in pride and victory, and the coach was impressed and signed them to a professional club.

Under the sea By Sargun Goel PYP5B Mia and Ava were best friends. They did everything together. The two girls were in High Rise Elementary School, grade 4. They lived in the USA, California. Mia loved red, and Ava loved blue. They both had a passion for exploring and going on adventures as they thought it was incredibly fun. Finally, it was Friday. The weekend was coming up!! Ava got up and dressed in her fav t-shirt. She quickly went down and saw Mia. They walked to school together while talking about their plans for the weekend. When they reached school, they saw Madrid and Ria, the two biggest meanies in their class, 4C. Ava and Mia like calling them "Maria meanies" as a short form. They decided to avoid Maria otherwise more fights would evolve. Soon the bell rang, it was time for art class. Mia and Ava grabbed their art supplies and headed to class. The teacher, Ms. Honey, asked them to finish the cover pages of their art notebooks. After they were done, they walked to class. For snack break Mia got chips. The two of them finished their food quickly. They decided to go for a stroll outside. Mia suggested that after school they could go to a café to chat for a while. Finally, school was over. Kids were rushing out of classes as soon as possible. Mia and Ava left too. As soon as they reached the cafe, they took a seat and made their orders from the menu laid on the table. The server arrived to confirm their order. When the server left, she dropped a note on the corner of their table. Mia picked it up and read it aloud " The first letter of me is after G, the second though is double and the last is something that is 15!!"Then, Ava exclaimed, " Maybe it’s a riddle!" "Yeah, but what is it for??" Mia asked. They wanted to figure out what it led to, so they noted it down. Then they tried to crack it out. When, … CRASH! Something had fallen! Mia and Ava tried to see what had happened. In the commotion of all this, Mia noticed 2 remarkably familiar girls entering the café. It was Maria!! OMG, how in the world did they get there? It seemed as if they were spying on them, but what did they want?? Maria took a seat at the table next to their own. Ria picked up the piece of paper that fell from Ava and Mia’s table during the commotion. "You know this is the clue to a great hunt!!” Ria exclaimed. Before Mia or Ava could stop her Maria grabbed the paper, and the 2 girls ran out of the café!! “at least we noted it down” Mia said. “Yes, I Know. But I have a feeling that we should probably try to figure out what it means before they do. What if Ria is right (for once), there might be something valuable where this clue leads to.” Ava replied. And so, their adventure began! During library class the next day, Mia and Ava sat in the back and tried to figure out what the clue meant. “Let’s do the first part first,” Mia remarked. “Ok let us see, the first letter of me is after G. That is “H” obviously, even a small kid knows that!!” “Yeah, now the second part is the second

Finally, the math teacher asked everyone to read chapters 3-4 in their math notebooks. Since Mia and Ava were sitting at the same desk, they pretended to read the chapters but were working out the clue! “So, we know that there is H and 2 Now the last part is ‘and the last is something that is 15’. Hmm, something that is 15... oh, I know!!” Ava said. It must be ‘O’ because the 15th letter in the alphabet is O... ‘So, it’s ‘H2O’ which means water!! We solved the clue...’ ‘Yeah, but there are many types of water, how will we know where to look??’ ‘Which types of water are there?’ ‘There are different water bodies like ocean, sea, river and more. So, we don’t know where exactly to go.’ ‘Oh yeah... Let's try the ocean since it may be in a sunken ship, or something like in fairytales you know.’ ‘Ok! And there’s only one ocean here!!’ The next day Mia and Ava decided to go and look for the treasure. They would go to the Pacific Ocean and go for a dive underwater after school. School seemed to drag on forever for them. Finally, the last bell rang. They quickly got home and changed into their diver costumes. Once they arrived at the beach, Mia put her feet in and tested the water. It was perfect! They got in the water and started to swim underwater. After a lot of looking around and meeting many new sea creatures, they spotted a sort of secret tunnel! Mia and Ava swam into it, hoping nothing scary would happen. And then BOOM!! There was a crash near the wall. After all the smoke cleared, they saw what caused the crash... It was Maria? How did they get there? Well, Ava realized what had happened at the café. They had to get the treasure before Maria did! Ava signaled Mia to come, and they swam as fast as they could through the tunnel. Eventually they saw some sparkles near the end of the cave! They found the treasure chest! But when they opened the chest, they were shocked! There was nothing except a piece of paper! “Seriously, we could have let Maria come here first. Who needs a piece of paper?” Mia said. Ava unfolded the paper and noticed it had some writing. It said, ‘Real friends are the ones you can count on no matter what.’ Then they figured it out! Friendship really is the best treasure you could have!
