Cleanliness 1. A cleanliness drive was conducted in and around the campus for
drive in cleaning the litter.
2. The students from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Chettinad
Campus by College of Nursing (CCN) along with faculties and staff participated in
the the event.
3.Mr. Solaiappan S, AGM Admin, Dr. KoyeliGirigoswami, NSS, PO,
involvement CARE and Ms. Nancy, Faculty, CCN, and NSS PO CARE participated in
of Students, the event.
Faculty and 4. The garbage was collected in proper bin bags and sent for
Non-Teaching recycling as per statutory norms.
5. The students cooperated well and the environment was cleaned.

01.11.2019 Vigilance Day NSS 1.NSS, CARE has conducted an awareness program on anti-
Integrity volunteers corruption followed by the Vigilance day pledge. The pledge taking
Pledge ceremony was conducted for all the students of Chettinad Hospital
and Research Institute (CHRI) including MBBS and AHS, Chettinad
College of Nursing, Chettinad School of Law and Chettinad School of
Architecture including NSS volunteers.
2.Dr. KoyeliGirigoswami, NSS, Programme Officer, CARE directed the
students to take the integrity pledge. This programme has generated
value education to build up a corruption-free nation.

31.10.2019 National 1.Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) was celebrated by NSS,
Unity Day CARE with the intent to pay tribute to the iron man of India Sardar
Celebration Vallabhbhai Patel who was instrumental in keeping India united. A
unity march was conducted at CARE with student participation from
FAHS, CHRI, CCN and College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, CARE.
2.The program was conducted by Dr. KoyeliGirigoswami, NSS PO,
MrsKowsalya, CCN.
3.The celebration helps the youth of the country to be aware of and
provides an opportunity for everyone to maintain the integral
strength of the nation. It makes Indian citizens realize how national
integrity helps in defeating the

ALUMNI REPORT - 1st AUGUST 2019 TO 31st JULY 2020

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETINGS

The 14th Executive Committee meeting of the Chettinad Academy of Research and Education
(CARE) Alumni Association held on the 7th September 2019 (Saturday) in the Office of the
Association at Kelambakkam. All the Members of the Executive Committee of the Alumni were
present. The members noted the action taken to the various items included in the minutes of
the last meeting held on 12.03.2019 and the same were confirmed. Dr. Rajesh Kannan was
elected as the new President of the association. The Committee members noted that as per
Clause 11.2 of the Bye-laws of the Association, the Executive Committee has the freedom to
co-opt members for the efficient functioning of the Association if any vacancy is caused in the
Executive Committee.

The 15th Executive Committee meeting of the Chettinad Academy of Research and Education
(CARE) Alumni Association held on 4th January 2020 ( Saturday ) at 10.00 am in the Office of
the Association at Kelambakkam. All the Members of the Executive Committee of the Alumni
were present. The members noted the action taken to the various items included in the
minutes of the last meeting held on 07.09.2019 and the same were confirmed.

It is also resolved that the society, Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE)
Alumni Association, has collected the old clothes and books from the Chettinad Academy of
Research and Education (CARE) Hostel students and distributed the old clothes to the
children's in Little Hearts Orphanage Home, Panaiyur, ECR, on 02.10.2019. The books that
have been collected from the Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) Hostel
students havebeen handed over to the Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE)
Library.

5th ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING

The 5th Annual General Body meeting of the Chettinad Academy of Research and Education
(CARE) Alumni Association was held on the 16th of November, 2019 (Saturday) at 11:00 AM,
on CARE's premises. The members of the Executive Committee of the Association, along with a
few Ex-officio members and around 100 alumni members, attended the meeting. The
President extended a warm welcome to all the members and Lamp lighting was done by the
guests.

The accounts of the Alumni Association duly audited by the Chartered Accountant for the year
ended March 31, 2018, were presented, and after brief discussions, the same was passed. The
appointment of the Auditor for the financial year 2018-19 was discussed and it was decided
that Mr.J.Karthik Bharathi & Co., Chartered Accountants shall continue to be the Auditor and
the same has been approved. As per Clause 11.5 (b) of the bye-laws of the Association, the
following newly elected Executive Committee Members have been nominated by the Patron,
the Registrar (Ex - officio member) President
After the discussion: "Resolved that in supersession to all other Resolutions passed earlier by

the Executive Committee / General Body in its meetings in respect of the Savings Bank
Account No.6380884694 in the name 'Chettinad Academy of Research & Education Alumni
Association' existing with Indian Bank, Siruseri Branch Kelambakkam, the authorized
signatories to jointly (a & b) operate the Bank Account, sign cheques and other negotiable
instruments on behalf of the Association, be and are hereby changed with effect from
17.11.2018 as follows:

Secretary and Mr.K.R.Venkatachalam, Honorary Accountant"

"Resolved further that Chettinad Academy of Research and Education
(CARE) alumni association shall contribute Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand only) per month
from its available funds from March 2020 to Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute account
towards purchase of Diabetic and other specialties medicines, spectacles and other
consumables like crepe bandage, walker, prosthesis, etc., for the benefit of the poor andnot
affordable patients attending Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute(CHRI), Kelambakkam,
Chettinad Free Community Hospital(CFCH), kelambakkam, or camp conducted/organized by
either CHRI/CFCH or CARE alumni association or both.

ALUMNI EXCELLENCE

The following Alumni members of the Chettinad Academy of Researchand Education (CARE)
have performed well in the all India NEET SS exams and have made the Association and our
Institute happy and proud.

ALUMNI MEET 2020

"College reunions are necessary because you can't hug a friend on Facebook." ‘Confluenze’-
the Alumni Meet-2020 organized by ALASCA (Alumni Association of CARE) was astounding and
full of stupefying moments. Dance, Music & ceaseless fun-chats were the delight of the event
that made it memorable. In presence of all faculties, the event commenced with cultural
performances soothing the ambience, followed by various games played between the alumni’s
and their spouses who had come along. “The Elite Grand” banquet hall filled with nostalgia as
reminiscing speeches of alumni’s made everyone look back at the years passed.

ALUMNI MEET 2020

The Alumni Association held a medical camp on 6th March, 2020 in Chennai at a Home and
School for people with Special Needs. Which was conducted by the Team of Alumni Doctors
including Dr. Ramprasath, Dr. Nagarjun, Dr. Sivabackia, etc., accompanied by Nursing staff
and CRRIs and the President of Alumni Association, Dr. Rajesh Kannan and by Dr. Buvnesh
(Dept. of Community Medicine).

Around 150 Children from the school were medically examined and treated for any illnesses.
The Teachers and Helpers were motivated and appreciated by the team. The Alumni members
had a friendly interaction with the members and children of the Home before departing.
