Students will concentrate on building capacity in students to solve problems related to Number Sense; simplify, factor, perform algebraic operations on polynomials as well as work with radical expressions. Students are introduced into linear and non-linear relationships and models and their associated equations. The course also deals with Data Analysis and Elementary Probability Theory and concentrates on real-life applications with problem solving as a continuing process. Technology forms an integral part of the course and students are encouraged to use technology to investigate and verify findings. Additionally, the course emphasizes and builds connections between Algebraic methods, other mathematics courses and other disciplines.
