ABSTRACT

The World Health Organization (WHO) proclaimed the contagious COVID-19
disease brought on by the coronavirus to be a pandemic on March 11, 2020. In
Brunei Darussalam, the Omicron variant has replaced the Delta variant as the
predominant variant since 2021, leading to a weekly case count of 29,402 cases
with 156 deaths in the week ending March 6, 2022. As a result, Brunei has
started the COVID-19 National Vaccination Program (NVP), which was
conducted in three phases based on different demographic groups. Brunei
Darussalam believes that these vaccines will protect the priority groups that it
has identified. The government has made numerous attempts to stop COVID-
19 from spreading by adopting a "herd immunity" strategy, in which at least
70-75% of the population gets immunized. The main objective of this study is
to learn about the Brunei population’s perceptions and understanding of the
necessity and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine. A cross-sectional online
questionnaire was distributed to 250 local Muslim respondents using Google
Forms. SPSS was used to conduct descriptive statistical analyses [frequency
(%)] to represent the characteristics of respondents as well as their perceptions
on the necessity and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccination. Based on the data
analysis, the majority of the respondents (61.6%) agree on the necessity of

ABSTRACT

In the efforts to understand the connections between Islam and Science, this
paper explores the contributions of both areas of study and its relevance to the
modern world. The study was undertaken through the critical readings of
scholarly publications and other published resources pertinent to the topic.
This paper discusses the contributions made by the Islamic scholars in
different sectors of science which may not be in the public sphere. Such
contributions include a better understanding of nature, the world, and the
universe. The contributions made by the Muslim scholars towards science are
often considered unusual as it is perceived that Science originated from the
Ancient Greek. This paper serves to spread a greater awareness on the fact
that Science is highly based on Islam and it has led to the modernisation as

ABSTRACT

The aim of this paper is to raise awareness of religion being an important
principle in the secular society. This paper focusses on three views that show
religion as being a necessity in the modern world and its relationship with the
secular society. This study was carried out through critical readings and
analysis of scholarly articles and published materials. Many secular societies
believe that religion should be separated from the government to allow for a
fairer rule of the people. This study is aimed to show that religion is not
burdensome, but instead provides happiness and peace around the world. In
the social aspect, religion has three major functions in society which is
providing social cohesion to help maintain social solidarity through rituals,
beliefs, and conformity. This study concludes that religion has become popular
in the modern world as it teaches people to be righteous, adhering to the law
and respectful to the authority of the state.

menyebabkan berlaku kepincangan nilai. Unsur kerohanian dipisahkan hanya

ABSTRACT

English is an international language used worldwide and inseparable due to
globalization. Realising this, the Ministry of Education has introduced
Malaysian University English Test (MUET) to bridge the gap between secondary
and tertiary English language needs. MUET examination consists of four
language skills and some of these skills become a great challenge for students
to pass. Infact, the government has set a minimum MUET band requirement
upon entering and graduating in local universities depending on the chosen
courses. It is compulsory for students to pass MUET examination with at least
Band 3 before entering tertiary education system. However, several studies
done discovered that many students were still struggling with this
requirement. Hence, Pre-University students are on one of the most thrilling
yet challenging journeys to kick start in pursuing their higher education. It is
undeniable that each student has his or her own learning style. As such, it is
important for students to identify and understand their own individual
learning style to excel in this subject. Hence, the purpose of this study is to
determine the dominant individual learning style among the semester 1, Pre-
University students for MUET in a selected premier secondary school. A survey
was conducted using the 3-point Likert scale questionnaire with 33 items to
collect data from 31 semester 1, Pre-university respondents. The findings in this
study showed that 36.57% of the Pre-University students prefer Self Study,
32.25% prefer Mentor Coaching and 31.18% learn better by Group Study with
friends.

ABSTRACT

Based on StatPearls (2021), hand amputations are a very uncommon yet
terrible injury. Work, hobbies, and self-care all suffer as a result of these
injuries. Furthermore, amputations of the extremities may have psychosocial
consequences for the patient. Amputations of the hand, like all amputations,
are classified according to the anatomic level at which they occur.
Amputations due to trauma account for roughly 45 percent of all amputations.
In a serious accident, a body component can be severed or pulled away, or it
can be so extensively damaged from a crush injury or severe burns that it
cannot be salvaged. It could also be the result of a congenital amputation. It is
the phrase used to describe a hand, foot, arm, or leg that is missing or
incompletely developed at birth. The extent of hand amputation has
implications for treatment as well as the degree and duration of functional
impairment. Herewith, our group has created Codename CLAW (Cool Gadget
Located At Wrist) to help individuals who have had amputations lift their
weight. Due to its simple manufacturing materials, this forward-thinking
device may be marketed at a minimal cost. The project has some interesting
features such as easy to use, easy to carry and has a variety of uses.
Furthermore, the materials used to produce this project are very easy to find
such as plastic bottles and magnets. In conclusion, people who suffer from
amputations and broken arms can now do the tasks normal people could do.
Considering how easy it is to use and how customizable it is, other people
might as well use Codename CLAW too. In addition, this product can also be
sold in the market at a reasonable price because it is created using recycled
materials like plastic bottles and magnets.

ABSTRACT

Depression and stress are aspects that need to be watched out for by students
because of the many demands that must be achieved. This aspect is also felt
by students who study in Islamic boarding schools, where students not only
learn academic knowledge but also learn religious knowledge such as
memorizing the Al-Quran. The many demands that are felt by the students
make them worry about the health of the students, especially the level of
depression and stress. This study aims to see how the level of depression and
stress of students influences the success rate of memorizing the Al-Quran and
academic achievement. Meta-analysis was carried out by re-analyzing the
results of research from various journals that had been published regarding
the level of depression and stress in students. The analysis method uses the
SPSS correlation test to find out how the relationship between variables is. The
test method uses Pearson's test with product moment. The journals used in
the meta-analysis study amounted to 20 journals and provided sufficient
results on the relationship between the level of depression and stress of
students on the success rate of memorizing the Al-Quran and academic
achievement.

ABSTRACT

Music is a feeling that can be heard through a certain rhythm, melody, and
timbre that can help the body and mind work together. Music has long been
considered to have an influence on the human body and soul. Listening to
music when carrying out learning in addition to creating comfort in learning
can also increase children's concentration in learning. Convenience in learning
is then carried out by researching the effect of giving music on concentration
and learning mood of Ar-Rohmah IIBS Malang Middle School students. The
types of music selected in this study are classical, pop, traditional, dangdut,
and murotal genres. This study uses a mixed method (quantitative and
qualitative) to determine the effect of music on students' concentration and
learning mood. Quantitative methods are used as explanations with data
analysis techniques using simple linear regression, while data were collected
through interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that the more
dominant pop music genre could increase students' learning concentration,
music could have a significant impact when studying, and the appropriate
music genre could increase the learning mood.

ABSTRACT

Love in Islam means that every feeling of love for living beings must be based
on the love of Allah, which is in accordance with the rules that have been set.
While ordinary people interpret love as an attraction. Currently, love does not
only occur in adults but also becomes a familiar thing for teenagers. Teenager
girls’ are girl humans with an age range between 13 years and 19 years. Very
fast changes in both growth and development with unstable emotions. Based
on science, love itself can arise due to the influence of hormones in the human
body where these hormones affect lust, attraction, and attachment between
humans. By identifying hormone development in adolescents and collecting
data related to adolescent views on love. Then identify the suitability of love for

ABSTRACT

In this preliminary study, research was done to determine the effectiveness of
gaming elements in improving students’ English language skills. This study
utilises a qualitative method in eliciting data from the students. In the
purposive sampling technique, six active gamers among students who played
three popular games were interviewed to share their experiences in
discovering the many aspects of the games they played to ensure they could
play them successfully. Their responses were coded and analysed to
understand their learning experiences better. From the analysed data, it was
found that the students had done extensive research and that they had
employed self-directed learning in improving their reading skills and increase
their vocabulary to understand the many aspects of the games they played.
The experiences and language learning strategies could be shared with other
students who could reap the same benefits as they did. English teachers would
see this as an option in the teaching approach for their students. With better
understanding on the elements on gaming, this study could further discover
the many benefits of gaming in students’ language learning quest.

Malaysia. The syllabus concludes mathematic concepts which require skills
and mastery to learn. However, there are some kids who finds it challenging
and intimidating to learn new mathematic concepts. These kids are often
linked to math anxiety where a person will experience a feeling of stress when
faced math-related problem. Lack of confidence is also a significant problem
for students in Malaysia. The perfect solution to overcoming this math anxiety
is to understanding it thoroughly and then practicing it regularly. One great
way to do it is by tapping into the power of one big obsession of children these
days – gaming. This approach is one of the fun learning method that can be
used. Therefore an educational game for mathematics subject has been
developed using Buildbox software. Buildbox is a video game development
tool that allows users to create 3d video games for computers and mobile.
Since the software is free, the teachers can use it as a tool for making a fun
game based learning project in school.

ABSTRACT

As the world has grown in the field of technology, science, education and
modernism, many countries have started to educate the young generation
about the necessity of knowledge in terms of nanotechnology. In Malaysia, the
Ministry of Education has developed a new syllabus in educating secondary
level students (Form 1 to Form 5 within age from 13 to 17 years old) called
Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Menengah (KSSM). In KSSM, Form 5 students are
exposed to nanotechnology in Chemistry subject, an elective subject studied
by pure science students. The main objective in introducing this topic is to
educate the young generation of the importance of nanotechnology in daily
life. Therefore, this study was conducted in order to measure the level of
nanotechnology awareness in Kolej GENIUS Insan’s students. The data was
collected from 268 students by using online survey form. The results briefly
indicated that 72% of respondents agree that they do not receive enough
exposure to have a good understanding of nanotechnology. However, 59% of
respondents perceive that nanotechnology provides high benefits while 3%
believe that this will provide high risks in industry. Moreover, apart of the good
efforts of Ministry of Education in including nanotechnology in KSSM syllabus,
several ways that were suggested by the respondents to increase the
awareness and exposure level of nanotechnology also will be discussed in
detail.

ABSTRACT

Everybody knows what plastics are and how much they are needed to improve
our life. Tons of plastic produced each year to fulfil human needs. However, the
major issue arises on how we can dispose of the plastic bags. Plastic bags
contain chemicals originating from petroleum distillation products. Upon
burning and/or burying those plastic bags, toxic chemical reactions can pose
harms to the living things and the environment. Additionally, plastics need
approximately around 500 years to completely decompose. That is why we
were inspired to produce ‘Banastic-lizer’ which is a homemade green plastic as
the solution to this problem. This project will enable the fabrication of the eco-
friendly plastic material from banana peels which is biodegradable in nature. It
will reduce the harmful effects of material decomposition to the Earth. This
innovation will be using a mixture of banana peels and glycerol which reacts as
a plasticizer that can be effective to create a strong eco-friendly plastic with a
low cost. In fact, the banana peels have the antioxidant properties, fibrous
structures, and essential nutrients. As the results, this kind of plastic will
provide more safety for the application by consumers without giving any
harmful side effects. Plus, it can also be used as a fertilizer due to its high
content of nutrients. This eco-friendly plastic has a chance to be
commercialized due to its affordable cost. As a conclusion, we can see that
conservation of the environment can be achieved if we continue using the
green and environmentally friendly products. With this project, we hope that it
could be a kick-start towards the efforts of saving the Earth in the coming
future.

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered a buildup of mask waste in Indonesia.
Based on LIPI data, the amount of B3 waste generation including masks and
personal protective equipment (PPE) in Indonesia reached 1,662.75 tons.
Improper treatment of mask waste can trigger the spread of the virus. One
way to treat mask waste is to arrange mask waste into ecobrick. Ecobrick are
eco-friendly alternative products that can be made into creative and
innovative work. The purpose of ecobricking is to manage disposable mask
waste to be used as a use-value item. This research uses qualitative descriptive
method. Ecobricking is done by sterilizing masks and stockpiling masks in
bottles of mineral water until they are solid. Once the ecobrick are confirmed
to be solid, the ecobrick are measured in mass to be compared to other-based
ecobric. Ecobrick with a bottle volume of 250 ml have a mass of 162.9 grams
while e cobrick with a bottle volume of 250 ml have a mass of 266.2 grams.
When compared to ecobrick made of plastic, waste mask ecobrick have a
heavier mass, potentially becoming more optimal ecobrick to replace the
function of brick.

ABSTRACT

Coffee is one of the most popular drinks by the public. According to data from
the International Coffee Organization in 2021, the number of coffee producers
in Indonesia increased by about 4.04% compared to the previous period. In
coffee there is a caffeine content that is dangerous when consumed in excess.
BPOM also stipulates that the maximum limit of caffeine consumption is 150
mg / day, and if consumed in excess it will cause many health problems. A
report states that regular consumption of caffeine causes 14% of deaths caused
by coronary heart disease. And 20% of deaths are caused by stroke. Therefore,
the purpose of this study was to replace coffee beans into date beans as an
alternative to non-caffeinated coffee. Date palm seeds contain antioxidants
that can ward off free radicals so that they become a substitute for coffee
beans that contain caffeine, consuming dates is also a sunnah for Muslims. This
research also developed innovations by using dipping bags as coffee
containers to reduce coffee deposits when brewed. That way people can easily
consume healthy non-caffeinated coffee and live the sunnah of the Prophet
Muhammad SAW.

ABSTRACT

Cassava (Manihot esculenta) is a commodity that is quite widely produced
agricultural products. Cassava has a composition of 60% peer water, 35%
starch, 2.5% crude fiber, 1% protein, 0.5% fat and 1% ash. Cassava has the
property of being easily damaged because it is susceptible to fungal infections
and other microbes. Based on this, the shelf life of cassava in fresh form after
harvest is very short. Not being utilized to the fullest. The aroma of cassava
water waste has an unpleasant aroma because of the content that
decomposes in it, so the processed part of cassava is the meat part only,
cassava balance is just thrown away. The solution and innovation that can be
done is by food diversion. Food diversion by utilizing cassava liquid waste into
nata de cassava so that it has an added selling value. The manufacture of nata
de cassava is accompanied by the giving of a natural color to add value to a
product. The research method used is an experimental method followed by
organoleptic testing. The purpose of nata de cassava is food diversion by
utilizing cassava liquid waste which was previously underutilized and simply
thrown away into a product that has a selling value.

ABSTRACT

Tessellation is a pattern of recurring shapes that fill a plane without leaving
empty or overlapping spaces. In mathematics, tessellation can be generalized
to higher dimensions and various geometries that covering a surface, using
one or more geometric shapes with no overlaps and no gaps. In this research,
the concept of tessellation has been analyzed on Kelarai Kepala Gajah pattern
in the pandan mat weaving art at Reka Melayu Gallery, Kolej GENIUS Insan. The
main objective is to verify whether the concept of tessellation has been applied
in the Kelarai Kepala Gajah pattern, where this design is often used in Malay
nature geometry. Kelarai is defined as a damdam-shaped woven pattern that
comes from the word “dam” which refers to a rectangular pattern known in
Malay art as a chess site. The tessellation consists of a square shape only,
where the shape of an elephant's head is shown or woven in a square shape on
this pandan mat weaving art. This pandan mat weaving art made from sea
pandan leaves (Pandanus tectorius), that is native to Malesia, eastern Australia,
and the Pacific Islands. It can be found in the coastal lowlands typically near
the edge of the ocean. The special features of this sea pandan leaf is it has high
quality, can lasts longer between 20 to 40 years, stronger and more durable
compared to other leaf such as mengkuang. Thus, the weaving pandan mat
was chosen to display at Kolej GENIUS Insan to inform that this pandan leaf is
more suitable and has more benefits, compared to other leaves. In addition,
the pattern will be more attractive by using the concept of tessellation which
can be seen on the entire woven pattern produced, which is the Kelarai Kepala
Gajah.

ABSTRACT

Rotation, reflection and enlargement are types of transformation concept to
make some changes in any given geometric shape. A rotation is a
transformation in which the object is rotated about the center of the rotation,
while the direction can be clockwise or anticlockwise. A reflection is a
transformation that occurs when all the points on the plane are reversed in the
same plane on a line. The properties of the image under a reflection should be
similar and congruent as the object. The image has different orientations,
inverted sides and forms mirror images with one another. An enlargement is a
transformation which has the center of enlargement that move all points at a
constant ratio known as scale factor from the center. In this research, the
concept of transformation on pandan mat weaving art at Kolej GENIUS Insan
was analysed. The main objective is to determine the pattern of Kelarai Kepala
Gajah between the combined transformation Z, followed by Y, X and W that
also can be written as transformation WXYZ. Under the combined
transformation, Z is defined as an anticlockwise rotation of 90° about the
center origin. After rotation, the image formed was reflected using Y and X
transformation, which are reflection on line x = 0 and on line y = x, respectively.
The transformation W described the final image of Kelarai Kepala Gajah
pattern, where the concept of enlargement with scale factor 2 at center of (7,
-7) was applied. However, the enlargement with scale factor 2 at center (7, 7) in
a single transformation shows the same results as the final image under
combined transformation WXYZ. The uniqueness of Kelarai Kepala Gajah
pattern can be shown when the final image remains the same for both
combined and single transformation were applied.

ABSTRACT

Allow us to summarize some main snippets about this project. The
background issue which our project will be covering is mostly about water and
sea pollution; focusing on spilled oil from boats, ships etc. into the ocean water.
This project could help remove the oil spills in the sea to avoid further damage
to aquatic life. This project of ours is able to do the following task due to it
having vacuum pipes section below it that is connected to a sensor which
allows it to detect locations of spilled oil.As for the contaminated water that
was vacuumed, it will undergo a gravity separation process inside our boat
that will be done in a tank. This tank will help separate the water and the oil as
there’ll be a barrier in between. The clean water and the oil will be released
separately as the process is done. This boat does not need any human
supervision since it will be controlled automatically by a GPS and a sensor that
is used to detect the oil spills. Without any presence of human supervision
means that it could help clean oil from the sea in a safer way compared to the
old way.
