ABSTRACT

Children with poor eating habits are at an increased risk of developing other
health issues at an earlier age, including being overweight or obese, having
high blood pressure, and having a heart attack. Prior research indicates that
over 90 percent of children's intake comes from processed and fast foods.
Therefore, the effort of raising awareness and educating children on selecting
healthy food to improve their eating habits is crucial. This study aims to raise
awareness and educate children through a computer game called Healthy
Snake Game. This game is a single-player game and targets children from the
age 4 to 12. The Iterative Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is used as the
methodology in developing this game. This methodology consists of five main
phases: planning, analysis and design, implementation and testing, evaluation
and deployment. This Healthy Snake Game is developed using C++ language
and the Dev C++ IDE platform. In this game, the player should aim to increase
their snake body length to reach the highest score while identifying the
healthy food. The player should choose fruit compared to junk food to obtain
more points. Additionally, this game could help children to make more rational
and quick decisions in any situation. On the other hand, this game still requires
better graphics to attract children's interest in playing this game. Furthermore,
other C++ IDE platforms are recommended to give programmers more
flexibility in using graphics-related C++ libraries. This Healthy Snake Game is
still at the prototyping stage, and testing and evaluation are needed to
enhance the quality of this game in achieving its main objective. Overall,
Healthy Snake Game can optimistically change children's perspectives and
encourage them to adopt healthy eating habits to prevent obesity and other
diseases.

ABSTRACT

The asymptomatic individuals can transmit novel coronavirus disease 2019
(COVID-19) as well as mildly symptomatic individuals and become major
sources of COVID-19. To reduce the role of asymptomatic or mildly
symptomatic individuals in COVID-19, the use of face masks appears extremely
useful in addition to hand hygiene and social distancing. The use of face masks
seems necessary when people must go out in everyday life. The different mask
sizes available on the market is designed to meet the needs of the user.
Therefore, there is more than one mask size and different styles and designs in
a household. This study suggested face mask storage to store the face mask
according to the style and design for proper storage and easy access. The face
mask storage is made from recycled materials, specifically from one piece of
the single-use food-grade plastic container per one face mask style. The food
grade plastic container cover serves as an outlet for removing the mask from
storage by cutting into a rectangular hole. It is easy to assemble, and the
manufacturing cost is low because a recycled material is used. Thus, this face
mask storage can be an alternative solution to store the face mask according
to its style at home.

ABSTRACT

Employing hydrogel in agriculture technology emerged as a trendy approach
among the stakeholders. This is due to the increasing food supply demand
resulted from the catastrophe effect of increasing population pressures thus
increase water demand which eventually intensify the effects of drought.
Therefore, hydrogel as water conservation agriculture is found to be vital
action to secure the sustainability towards community. The aim of this study
was to utilize unique properties of hydrogel by absorbing water and fertilizer
while retain it in the hydrogel structure. Liquid fertilizer was prepared by
mixing A and B type fertilized in water and consequently dry hydrogels were
soaked in the mixture for 24 h with different loading of hydrogel to allow the
hydrogel to absorb water and fertilizer. Eventually, the hydrogels were mixed
with organic soil and Pak Choy (brassica rapa subsp. chinensis) seeds were
sowed in each pot containing different loading of hydrogel and let it self-
growth. The germination and cotyledonary level studies were conducted by
measuring the percentage of seed able to growth for 3 consecutive days in
each pot and number of leaves at cotyledonary growth, respectively. It was
found that higher hydrogel loading leads to better seed germinations
percentage and shows better seedling at cotyledonary after 3 days
observation. Meanwhile, water and fertilizer absorption of hydrogel were
conducted by embedding hydrogels in the soil for 24 h and the results showed
that water absorption was more than 300% and 500% of fertilizer absorption at
highest hydrogel loading, respectively. Besides ability of soil to uptake water
was investigated and found that it can achieved more than 200% after
immersed for 24h. Ergo, utilization of hydrogel as agriculture water retaining
medium in soil for planting is possible as alternative approach to substitute
conventional planting method for self-planting and eventually sustainable
towards community.

ABSTRACT

The Garbage Collector is a floating filter that collects in floating debris, such as
plastic. It can be installed in the water of river or drain with a calm
environment. The Collector is estimated to catch 2 kilograms of floating debris
per day, including micro plastic up to 2 mm small. The amount of plastic
caught depends on the weather and, of course, the amount of plastic
pollution. The Collector is placed in “debris problem areas”, which are the
places where floating debris collects, as this is the place where the wind and
currents bring the waste. Connected to the floating square box on the surface
is a mesh bag that collects the debris, made from recycled plastic. Older
versions used fibre bags, but these absorbed too much water and were not
very sustainable as disposable product. The bags can hold up to 10 kilograms
of waste, and is even able to clean up oil with simple oil absorption technology
adapted for the catch bag. The aim is to even clean up cyanobacteria in the
near future, bacteria that can be damaging to human health. The bin works as
follows: a submersible water pump, or one placed at the shore in older models,
capable of displacing 15 litres per hour is plugged into a 110/220V outlet,
sucking in the water. The water is then pumped back into the drain, leaving
the litter trapped in the catch bag. The collector can run 24 hours per day, and
needs to be checked frequently to prevent the bag from flowing over with
debris. Obviously, the Garbage Collector is not going to solve the pollution
problem, but it can make people aware of what happens to their garbage if
not disposed of properly.

ABSTRACT

Mung Kit innovate more than just grow the seeds, this kit main objective is
hydroponics is a technique of growing plants without soil and without the
limitations of space and climate. In the traditional farming system, plants
depend on soil to obtain all nutrients needed for their growth. Scouts to grow
produce smarter and more efficiently. Some of these systems also come with
the added advantage of growing vertically. Further minimize the footprint
required to grow produce, while maximizing crop yields. The added benefits of
controlling and managing pH, CO2, heat, air movement, nutrients supply,
water needs, temperature and lighting scheme, help scouts boost production
of their crops. Instead of soil, plants grow in in a soilless medium. Instances of
such mediums can incorporate Rockwool, coconut fiber, or other comparative
choices. Irrigation has allowed man-kind to scale food production and feed
more people, but water conservation is also very important. Water keeps
circulating within the system allowing plants to absorb water necessary for
active metabolism, while surplus water moves to the reservoir or storage tank
to be cycled all over again. With hydroponics, one has multiple options of
growing plants, which includes vertically, thereby drastically reducing the land
requirements needed to grow crops.

ABSTRACT

We decided to do a few researches regarding cancer like their history, causes
and how does it affect someone’s life. Most of our researches are taken from
the internet and social medias. We also read about how are they treating
cancer and such. After a few researches, we searched for a way to make a cure
for cancer using a traditional method since we planned to make an easy and
affordable product for everyone. It’s quite hard for us to do the research due to
a limited time of free time but we still tried hard to gather the information .
After a few researches , we decided to make the product based of red ginger
since we figured that red ginger is probably the most common herbs used for
traditional medications . We knew that its probably unenjoyable to just
consume the ginger so we decided to make the product in both powder and
liquid form of product . In that way its way better to be consumed.

ABSTRACT

A pill dispenser, pill container, or pill box is a special container for storing
scheduled doses of one's medications. Pill organizers usually have square-
shaped compartments for each day of the week, although other more
compact and discreet versions have come to market, including cylindrical and
pen-shaped cases. Some organizers have multiple sections, corresponding
with different times of the day. Pill organizers are viewed as a way to prevent
or reduce medication errors on the part of the patient. Pill organizers are
useful for all types of patients, including the elderly, those who have memory
deficiencies, and those taking multiple medications, as an aid in remembering
to take proper doses of their medications thereby complying with their
doctor's recommended dose. They allow a patient to know whether or not they
have taken a particular dose of their medication; if a pill still remains in its
compartment, it is apparent that it has not yet been taken, whereas if it is
missing, it has already been taken. Pill organizers often have various features
to make them easier for special-needs patients to use, such as color-coding,
Braille for the blind, or a locking mechanism to prevent double dosing. Some
organizers used for diabetes patients have sections for insulin and hypodermic
syringes. Some pharmacists will pre-load pills into pill organizers for their
patients, as a convenient service. Electronic pill organizers, pill dispensers, and
pill reminders have been developed that alert patients when their prescription
medication, OTC medication, or daily food supplements must be taken. These
devices have been credited with saving lives and saving money in the health
care system. Advanced models can be linked via the Internet to a medical
facility, to aid in monitoring and reminding a patient to take his/her
medications.

ABSTRACT

Malaysia is truly blessed with all kinds of herbs and plants such as Pepperomia
Pellucida (or locally known as ‘Sireh Cina’) which can be prominently found in
forests and cliffs on wet soils. Pepperomia Pellucida offers medicinal properties
when applied to the body such as relief of headache during fever and treat of
infections. Hence in this research, we extracted oils from stems and leaves of
Pepperomia Pellucida via solid-liquid extraction and characterise its active
compounds using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). This
research was first done through sample collecting at Kolej GENIUS Insan,
Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia’s Recreational Garden. The sample was then
dried in drying oven at 50°C for 48 hours and grinded using mechanical
grinder to increase its total surface area for optimisation of oil extraction
process. The oil extraction process was performed via mixing ethyl acetate
with grinded sample (in powder form) in a ratio of 1:10. The presence of 2,4-di-
tert-butylphenol and eugenol in Pepperomia Pellucida’s oil was validated by
GC-MS spectrum, thus proved its antioxidant properties. Consequently,
Pepperomia Pellucida can be further made into products such as soap that will
necessarily have benefits towards our body.

ABSTRACT

Kaempferia Parviflora or more known as black ginger is a famous herbaceous
plant in Thailand. It is also known as a traditional remedy that can treat various
diseases. Kaempferia Parviflora contains high level of polymethoxy flavonoids
(PMFs) which are known as an antioxidant that plays a major role to activate
Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1), an anti-aging factor. The purpose of SIRT1 is to shield skin DNA
cellular from further damage due to exposure to sunlight and also delay the
aging of the cell and the formation of wrinkles. Here, we aimed to produce
soap synthesized from extractant oil of Kaempferia Parviflora via the
saponification process. After that, the identification of antioxidants was
performed using Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). To sum
up, Kaempferia Parviflora can be proven to be an antioxidant element that is
effective and helpful.

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has struck the education system around the globe. The
pandemic initiated an immediate and complete lockdown to all the educational
institutions for social distancing to curb the transmission of the virus. All the
people from the education system had to accept that teaching and learning
methods need to be altered in the period of COVID-19 as the situation led to the
forced adaptation of e-learning methods. This innovation aims to develop a web-
based system known as Al-Chemy. Al-Chemy is a developing website that is going
to be used as a hub for the Chemistry subject for Tamhidi students in Universiti
Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). For the implementation of this adaptation system, we
have considered the inherent concern of Malaysian students towards Chemistry
subject: they have the strong perspective that Chemistry is all about memorizing.
While we acknowledge the importance of memorizing at this level of study, we
have tried to focus our approach more toward understanding and explaining the
rationale underlying many concepts of Chemistry. This website can also become a
suitable reference for Malaysian Matriculation Programme, Sijil Tinggi
Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), and A-Level as well as any other pre-university
Chemistry course. In this innovation, the Rapid Application Development was
adapted as the development methodology. The website will be developed by
using wix.com. Wix is a website builder with easy-to-use tools which enable users
to quickly create an online presence via a drag-and-drop interface. Additionally,
elements of the interactive media, online laboratory, videos, quizzes, and games
will also be incorporated on the website. We hope that Al-Chemy will be able to be
used in helping students to acquire sufficient Chemistry knowledge in line with
the requirements provided by universities.

ABSTRACT

This study focuses on comparing the bioactive compounds of crescentia cujete
and painkillers. Crescentia cujete is a miracle fruit that is known to be able to
cure numerous ailments such as diarrhoea, stomachaches, and cancer. Here
we aim to prove the capability of crescentia cujete in relieving menstrual
cramps as it is still not scientifically proven. Taking painkillers is a common
solution to relieve menstrual cramps but it may bring harmful side effects if
taken frequently. The sample of crescentia cujete was extracted by ethanol via
maceration technique. After that, the identification of extracted coumpounds
was characterized by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). After
comparison with National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST library), it
is proven that the bioactive compounds of crescentia cujete showed the same
structural properties as 2-(4-Isobutylphenyl)propanoic acid (ibuprofen) thus
confirming its anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore, we conclude that
crescentia cujete can be an alternative safe method that is able to provide
relief for menstrual cramps similar to painkillers.

ABSTRACT

Kapal Terbang, also known scientifically as Chromolaena Odorata can be found
in open areas such as bushes , and in the forest. As the antiseptic that is
commonly used is flavin or acriflavine, natural resources that are Chromolaena
Odorata that contain omega-9 fatty acid are used as a replacement to fight
against the bacterial infection. Metabolomics is a valuable technology for
improving our understanding of the physiology and biochemistry of
Chromolaena Odorata. This study aims to determine the metabolite
compounds found in Chromolaena Odorata leaves using Gas Chromatography-
Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) to access the variation in metabolite profiles of
Chromolaena Odorata. The extract was prepared using an acetone extraction .
The expected compounds to be identified at the end of the extraction ranges
in alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, steroids, phenols,
cardenolides, terpenoids, anthraquinones, cardiac glycosides and various
carbohydrates based on previous findings. The production and buildup of
metabolite compounds may be influenced by a variety of genetic, ontogenic,
morphogenetic, and environmental variables. The literature reports, for
instance, that the accumulation of metabolite compounds is strongly
influenced by a number of environmental factors, including light, temperature,
soil water, soil fertility, and salinity. For most plants, a change in one of these
factors can affect the content of metabolite compounds even when other
factors remain the same. The expected result will show that Chromolaena
Odorata contains pharmacological active compounds that may enhance its
use as a traditional medicine.

ABSTRACT

Fungal growth in indoor areas is increasing and many people with certain
health problems such as the elderly are getting rather fatal infections from the
mould. Nowadays the type of fungal growth that collects and grows in
cupboards or walls or books or anywhere indoors is mould. There are many
types of mould that grow indoors Especially to elderly people or people with
allergies or weak immune systems or respiratory problems, mould growth can
result in rather fatal infections. As the mould grows, spores, cells, fragments
and unstable organic compounds can enter the air which can produce
allergens, irritants and mycotoxins and some of these can be toxic especially to
those who have a sensitivity to them. In our experiment, we used two boxes as
our setups, the control set-up and the experimental set-up. Thus we did
research on the factors of fungal growth and those are; oxygen, moisture,
warmth and darkness. Thus, we added some accessories to reduce these
factors to prevent fungal growth and those items are a fan, LED light, a
dehumidifier and two moist slices of bread to experiment on. In the
experimental set-up, we added a fan to have wind in the box as that will
quicken the rate of evaporation, so the water sprinkled on the bread will
evaporate into water vapour in the box making surroundings humid, and that’s
where the dehumidifier plays its part, it absorbs the moisture in the air (water
vapour). The LED lights are there to brighten up the box and remove the
darkness. Positive results were shown. A product can be made where it
contains a ventilation system, a substance that absorbs moisture as well as
light. This can be put into areas to prevent mould growth.
