18 Listen, read and answer the questions. 4.6 STORM CHASER

What do you do on weekends. A lot of people watch a movie or go shopping. But not Katy Hartman.
On weekdays, Katy's a storm chaser.

On Friday evening, I go online and I look
at the weekend weather. I'm always
excited when there's a tornado in my area
Tornadoes are funnels of wind - they're fast
and dangerous. People are often scared of
tornadoes, but I love them because they're
exciting to watch.
My friends and I have a big truck for chasing
storms. We take video cameras, food and
water, flashlights, and a first-aid kit. Then
we look for the storm. In this picture, we're
chasing a big tornado in Oklahoma. It's very
windy and I'm watching the tornado. My
friend is filming it with the video camera.
Suddenly, the tornado is only 800 meters
away and it's moving fast towards us.
It's time to get in the truck and go!
