Final 2018

The Finalists were called back to stage one last time for the announcement of the winners of Season 12. It’s always a
bittersweet moment; someone is about to be elated and others will be utterly let down. We do our best to help the
contestants understand that to a certain degree, it’s all a game of chance. We all have good days and bad days. The
person who wins is usually the one who was able to make magic happen right when they needed it. That, along with a
great pair of songs, is often what’s needed to sway the opinions not only of the people in the audience but, of course,
the judges. We believe that, so far, we have always succeeded in having the best performances of the night win the top
prizes. Could the outcome have been different on a different night? Very possibly. That’s why we are always happy to
welcome back all contestants, even those who have already succeeded in making it to the Grand Finale.

Once the results were revealed, 1st place in the Adult category was handed to April-Joyce Bulangcao and 2nd place
went to Precious Hernandez. First place in the Juvenile category went to Samantha Gavin and the 2nd spot went to
Sanskriti Akhoury. Samantha and April will each return to perform one of the songs from their album with the band at
this Season’s Grand Finale. We are very excited to hear them!

Versatile, The Singing Contest 2019 155
Compact,
Scalable
Array for
the Masses

Yorkville Sound’s Paraline Series PSA1 active full range
loudspeaker system delivers the clarity, scalability and precision
of a complex line array system in a compact, user friendly
format. Integrated DSP and efficient controls allow ‘plug and
play’ simplicity in a scalable vertical array – no additional
external signal processing or on site programming required.

The heart of the PSA1 design is the high frequency Para-Line
lens. This innovative technology transforms a point source
into a uni-phase plane wave, allowing multiple high frequency
drivers to sum coherently in the vertical plane without
self-interference.

Ideal for mobile PA applications where complex trussing or roof
rigging isn’t practical, Yorkville PSA1 cabinets mount quickly
and securely on a typical high quality speaker stand. Up to two
cabinets per stand can be arrayed when required. When
rigging is available, innovative optional external bolt-on flyware
allows up to four PSA1 cabinets to be configured easily in a
60°(v) x 110° (h) array for touring system or permanent install.

Rugged injection molded ABS cabinet design, Class-D
amplification, and Neodymium woofers minimize overall
cabinet weight, ensures system transport and set-up can
easily be handled by a single operator. Highly efficient amplifier
design means each PSA1 draws less than 3 amps in typical
operation allowing up to four cabinets to operate safely on a
standard 15 amp service.

Hi John,

I'd like to thank you for all that is going on with Jake.
These lessons have given him so much motivation and en-
couragement, not just towards music but as a maturing
teenager.

In today's society, it's very difficult for teens to choose a
good path, and to stick with it. Jake is learning so much
about himself musically, but with responsibility. He goes
to bed early Friday night so he can be up early Saturday
morning for his lesson. He plans his schedule around it.

He learns many knew aspects about music; whether it's Music is a big thing for him and it keeps him ground-

Angela Mesquita of Brasil Remittance

Each season, we like to feature the story of one of
our long-standing sponsors. This year, we’ve chosen to
tell you a little bit more about Angela Mesquita whose
company, Brasil Remittance, filled a desperate void in the
financial services industry for the many Brazilians who
emigrated to Toronto in the late 80’s. The success of her
company is directly related to the integrity of the woman
who runs it.

Angela at the 2018 Grand Finale being interviewed by Angela Mesquita is a proud Canadian, mother of
NTVC’s Juliano D’Lucca. Juliano will be back at this year’s three and successful businesswoman in the Davenport
Grand Finale transmitting the entire event on GoLive TV. Community. Since arriving in Canada from Brazil in 1987,
Angela has established herself as an integral part of the
Brazilian Community in Toronto through her business,
Brasil Remittance. Over the years, Angela has used her
influence in the community to help immigrants overcome
the many obstacles that come with transitioning to a new
environment and settling in Canada. Angela is very ac-
tive in the community helping organize fundraisers and
cultural events to help with any current issues that arise
