Yule Gourmet: Real chocolate melted in

simmering milk and Chocolate ganache gently
spiced with cinnamon ...the perfect winter
treat indeed. The nippy weather has all of us
tending towards our favourite winter comfort
foods. Now that Christmas is finally here,
what better way to celebrate this festive
occasion than with some good food.

Grades VI & VII learners displayed their
culinary skills and shared some Christmas
delicacies- Gingerbread cookies, plum cake,
Yule log, eggnog, Irish stew and so much
more. All the dishes had delightful Christmas
colours and were delectable - scrumptious
indeed! The learners also made DIY carte de
jour ( Menu Cards) that were impressive and
spectacular. Everything that was displayed
was luscious and moreish. The participants
were assessed on rubrics like gourmet skills,
texture, appeal and culinary table
presentation.

Spruce Craft: The Spruce Craft

Competition was conducted for Grades
VII-- VIII to capture the festive season of
Christmas. It was a magical experience
that helped our learners unleash their
inner creativity. Learners created
Christmas tree ornaments, tinsels ,
wreath, snowflakes, reindeer, ornamental
bells with origami paper. The participants
were assessed on rubrics like unique
creativity, décor, difficulty level and
overall presentation.

rendition on ‘Bharat Humko Jaan se
pyara hai’ and graceful dance
performances on ‘Ai Watan’ from
the film ‘Raazi’ imbued the learners
with patriotic zeal.

To culminate the day, the Lotus
Valley family took a pledge : The
promise to secure liberty , fraternity
and justice was made. To unite and
focus on combatting the Covid-19
pandemic with utmost compassion;
to protect the tenets of the Indian
Constitution, uphold its values and
be responsible representatives of this

National Farmers Day or Kisan Divas is
observed on December 23 every year to
mark the birth anniversary of the fifth
Prime Minister of India, Chaudhary
Charan Singh. He served as the Prime
Minister of India from July 28, 1979 to
January 14, 1980. He is fondly
remembered as the 'Champion’ of
India's peasants, and in 2001, the
government decided to mark his birth
anniversary as Kisan Diwas.

To pay obeisance to the ‘Champion’ of
India’s peasants and to express their
immense gratitude to the farmer
community, Grade XI learners
organized a special assembly on 23rd
December 2020. Learners showcased an
informative power point presentation
that highlighted farmer’s contribution
to the nation and provided an insight
into the Farm Bills 2020 . Artistic
renditions were used effectively to
illumine various issues and concerns.



LotusLights 3.0 : Nurturing Talent,
Celebrating Creativity
The incredible talent of our learners
was once again brought to the fore as
LotusLights 3.0 unfurled across
sections of Grade IX . In consonance
with the School's philosophy,
LotusLights is a medium to foster the
creative acumen of each learner and
promote holistic development. Display
of artistic, culinary and technical skills
added vibrance to the proceedings.
Besides showcasing their skills in
diverse domains, the learners
displayed their 'Sewa' contributions
very enthusiastically during the event.

The Third edition of LOTUSLIGHTS,
THE EXPRESSION SERIES was
hosted by Grade XI in November.
Display of culinary skills , poetic and
artistic renditions and rib-tickling
stand-up acts lent a vibrant flavour to
the proceedings.
Insightful comparisons between the
states of Telangana and Haryana
greatly added to the learners'
repertoire of knowledge. Replete with
lively and enlightening performances,
the show was a beautiful
amalgamation of creativity and
ingenuity.

A well-structured and graded programme,
‘Vocational Education’, is aimed at building

skills and values through need-based life

activities. It is an integral part of the holistic

learning process and helps develop self-
esteem and confidence in the learners.
