Lotus Valley learner, Devaansh Wadhwa of Grade VII Mahanadi won Gold medal in an Interschool Badminton Tournament held at DPSG Sushant Lok. Congratulations Devaansh! Inter School Badminton Tournament Grade VII


Learners of Lotus Valley participated in the Inter-School Roller Skating Championship held at Vibgyor High School, and brought laurels to the Inter School Roller Skating Championship school by bagging medals and secured Second Position. They participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.


Learners of Lotus Valley brought laurels to the school by winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the Interschool Skating Championship under different Roller Skating Competition GD Goenka 2022-23 categories and age groups held at G.D. Goenka Public school sector – 48. Gurugram. The learners participated with full of zeal and enthusiasm.


Lotus Valley learners participated in the Inter-School Competition held at K.R. Mangalam World School, Gurugram and brought laurels to the School, Roller Skating Competition K R Manglam 2023 by winning First Position. All the learners performed extremely well and with full of zeal and enthusiasm.


Learners of Grades VI-XII enthusiastically participated in the Interschool competition ‘Recalibration' held at - DPS Sushant Lok on 17th December 2022 and made us proud by winning ‘Overall Trophy’. Recaliberation Grades VI-XII It was a wonderful learning experience wherein learners participated in various competitions ranging from IT, Commerce, Science, Mathematics, Hindi and English. It also gave them the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge and skills. Congratulations! Kudos to the learners and mentors!

Youth Parent Meeting Orientation Session- Grade X, XII The co-scholastic activities were discussed at length that gave the parents an idea of the curriculum which is self-directed with hands-on learning activities; that not only will give our students a medium to fully utilize their creative talents and energies, but also help them in their all-round development. A special session for Career counselling and Stream selection was held by CogitoHub for the Grade X audience. The Orientation programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. “With the right mindset, we can’t lose, we either practice what we’ve learned or we learn what we need to practice.”

“Be who you are, not what the world wants you to be.” Early Adolescence can be a time of confusion and discovery. As adolescents develop their sense of self, they may have to make challenging decisions regarding their academics, friendships, sexuality, gender identity, and independence. In light of this, the Counseling & SEN Department held workshops on adolescence for learners of grades VII and VIII on February 21, 2023, and February 22, 2023. The goal of the Growing Up Great workshop was to acknowledge and address the children's curiosity and confusion over one's physical development, changing connections with others, and position in the wider world, which might naturally result from the transition. WORKSHOP ON ADOLESCENCE Grades VII-VIII The session's objectives were to discuss the many stages of adolescence, the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social changes that a kid experiences, the five I's of adolescence, and how to deal with them so that one can grow up healthy. Open discussions and self-reflective questions were employed to disseminate the issues. The main goal was to increase learners ’ understanding of growing up and the challenges that come along with it. Learners' questions on the topic were addressed, and they were encouraged to share their experiences. Also, input from the students was solicited in order to determine how well they had comprehended the information.


Lung Care Foundation (LCF) was established on 25th May 2015 as a notfor-profit organization, dedicated to the cause of promoting ‘Lung Health’ in India. Socho Naan anthem for clean air was originally composed by Lung Care Foundation. The song urges the citizens to make ecologically responsible decisions and adopt environmentally-friendly lifestyle to help curb air pollution. A competition organised by LCF wherein learners conjointly re-created existing version and rendition of ‘Socho Na’, for which Lotus Valley Lung Care Foundation- LCF Grade IX-X International School, Gurugram bagged by a Trophy and Certificates of Appreciation. “A problem well stated is a problem half solved.” An engaging and informative session on “Problem-Solving Tools” was organised for the learners of Grades IX and XI on Thursday, 15th December 2022. Mr Maulin Gandhi, A Quality Assurance Professional (parent of Grisha Gandhi, learner of Grade IX Nilgiris) conducted an insightful session for learners to gain a better understanding of the problem being solved before developing a solution. Problem Solving Tools Guest Speaker- Dr. Maulin Gandhi The ‘Why Why’ Analysis used a series of questions to drill down into successive layers of a problem and a ‘Fishbone Diagram’ or ‘Ishikawa Diagram’ helped learners sort possible causes into various categories that branch off from the original problems. Mr Gandhi kept the learners captivated throughout and provided them with various approaches to deal with future problems. The active participation of learners made the session alluring. The session concluded with the felicitation of the guest as a token of appreciation.

Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram organised Lotus Korero, a contextual conversation to engage youth in democracy and governance through the platform of G20 India in collaboration with Y20 India Talk Series, a panel discussion on "Polymath Approach to Indian Education, A Pre-requisite for Good Governance" was organised. In the Inaugural Session, DirectorPrincipal Mrs Anita Malhotra presented the welcome address followed by Inaugural address by Special Guest, Mr Sudhanshu Trivedi, Member of Rajya Sabha, a special message by Mr Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs was also given. Lotus Korero 2023 Y20 India Talks- Youth & Democracy Keynote address by Guest of Honour, Mr Shehzad Poonawala, National Spokesperson of BJP and address by Special Guest, Ms Velentina Brahma, Y20 India Secretariat member. Minister Hardeep Puri spoke about the significance of India hosting the G20 Presidency and Sudhanshu Trivedi, spoke in detail about how India was poised to lead the global order under the leadership of PM Modi. BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla explained how after 2014 the participation of youth in politics has increased and how young people from non-dynastic backgrounds could now draw inspiration from PM Modi and enter the public space. The address by Velentina Brahma, Y20 Secretary, Media highlighted the events taken up by Y20 India and importance of participation of youth in it.


A graceful Cultural program was put together by the students of the school and Young Diwakar Sharma, the Runner up of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs was the show stopper of the cultural program. A panel discussion on "Polymath Approach to Indian Education, A Prerequisite for Good Governance" was organised which was participated by 18 students from various schools. In the Valedictory Ceremony, Mr V Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs gave a special message to all who were present and emphasised about how youth could play a greater role in public affairs and democracy. Senior Journalist and Anchor Mr Anand Narsimhan and Mr Gaurav Bidhuri, International Boxer also graced the event and made energy interventions. The prizes to the winner of Panel discussion were distributed in the presence of august guests.

CAREER COUNSELLING SESSION Grade X & XII - Get Set, Go !!! "The best way to predict the future is to create it." —Abraham Lincoln To spark the learners to orchestrate their higher education aspirations, Lotus Valley International school in collaboration with Education-USA organised a career counselling session ‘Get Set, Go!’ for Grades X & XII on Thursday, 23rd March 2023. Ms. Megha Yadav facilitated the session with a plethora of information viable for the learners to channelize their passions well in time. She emphasized that one must have in-depth knowledge of the choices. She mentioned how it is recurrent among students going through this transition phase, to get influenced by misinformation and eventually making wrong decisions. Furthermore, she urged the students not to make decisions based on peer pressure. To soar high with study dreams in well reputed universities of the USA and simultaneously assess their progression, a highly informative and precise presentation was presented. Queries raised by the learners were addressed by the resource person and all the required information, weblinks and contact details were also shared. The session turned out to be immensely enriching and interactive for the learners.

Youngsters worry about a variety of things, such as concerns with mood swings, physical changes, and perplexing media messages. In light of this, the Counseling & SEN Department held workshops on puberty for learners of Grades V and VI on December 8, 2022, and December 13, 2022. Early Adolescence can be a time of confusion and discovery. As adolescents develop their sense of self, they may have to make challenging decisions regarding their academics, friendships, sexuality, gender identity, and independence. Considering this, the Counseling & SEN Department held workshops on adolescence for learners of Grades VII and VIII on February 21, 2023, and February 22, 2023. This is a way of life that trickles down from the Director Principal, Ms. Anita Malhotra and reaches to the very heart of the institution to our dear learners. Grade IV took on the challenge of entertaining and bringing to life the story of ‘Shahjahan and the Ruby Robber’, authored by the prolific and popular Ms. Natasha Sharma. The book is a part of their Classroom Library Programme and enactment of the same made learners more adept with the storyline and its characters. The event began with a mellifluous rendition of Sargam, Sufi song and Qawwali. This was followed by a Welcome Address by Director Principal who spoke of the importance of unity in diversity and the necessity of the school and parents working together as a team for the wholesome development of each child. The stage was then taken over by the fabulous and fiery performers of Grade IV. Each child put their heart and soul into weaving magic on stage with their performances. They kept the audience sitting on the edge of their seats as each scene melted into the next before reaching its grand conclusion. ANNUAL PRESENTATION WONDER… A MUSICAL EXTRAVAGANZA Grade VI : February 2023 At the culmination of our Academic Year, the learners of Grade VI presented a Musical Extravaganza- ‘Wonder’, an adaptation of the Book ‘Wonder’ by R.J. Palacio which is part of their Novel reading programme. The celebration was set off with a soulful prayer and ceremonial candle lighting followed by a scintillating rendition of the song ‘Perfect’. The Director – Principal, Ms. Anita Malhotra extended a warm welcome to the parents and addressed the gathering with her inspiring words. She extended her deepest appreciation towards the parents for their involvement in working in camaraderie with the school , which further created a harmonious and positive learning environment for the children. Learners set the stage on fire with their flawless and creative presentation. The training phase was a perfect amalgamation of seniors playing the role of mentors and setting an example of what the school propagates for ‘students to be leaders’ and buddy teachers. True to the labour and efforts put in by Grade VI team , the incredible and heart - warming story of August Pullman left an indelible mark on our learners as they mesmerised one and all with their superlative performance. As the play came to a winsome end, our Vice Principal, Ms. Ritu Jawa applauded the learners . She also appreciated the mentors and learners for their perseverance, sincerity and determination to have completed this unfathomable task of preparing and presenting an Annual Presentation in a mere 10 days.

To celebrate the values that make Christmas a badge of culture at Lotus Valley International School Gurugram, the Cultural Committee 2022-23 organized a Christmas Special Assembly on December 23,2022, in a collaborative effort with the talented learners of Grade XI. The event was a cornucopia of Christmas, and in its grand success embodied Christmas values and personified the thoughts and ideas that anchor the day. The day was inaugurated by a melodious medley of carols, beautifully sung by the junior choir who began the day with utmost zeal. An insightful thought, along with International, National, Sports and School news were presented by the anchors of ‘Tinsel TV’. ‘Carol of the Bells’, a symphony of melodies was presented by the magical maestros of music of Lotus Valley. The dance presentation by Grade XI learners had the audience spellbound with their revolutionary recital on Christmas beats. An inspiring skit was presented by the amazing actors of Grade XI, which personified the values and beliefs behind Christmas. The enthusiasm of our learners knew no bounds as they achieved yet another milestone in their academic journey. This momentous day will surely remain etched in their memories. The day began with the mentors talking about the deft usage of pens. Our learners participated with great vigor in the ceremony as they launched the pen and untied the bright ribbons tied on their favorite pens. This was followed by the learners penning down their first thoughts on using their new writing instruments. The learners felt empowered and a general love for writing was evident, as they wanted to do written work in each of their subject classes.
