YOGA SESSION Grades IV to XII : December 2022 “Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees.” B.K.S. IYENGAR Yoga, an ancient practice, and meditation has become increasingly popular in today’s world. Yoga develops inner awareness. Research studies have highlighted the benefits of yoga in improving mental and physical health. Specific improvements that are significant to classroom settings include improved outcomes in behaviour, stress reduction, and emotional balance. Lotus Valley International School caters a whimsical and fun stretching and breathing program as a part of evidence-based curriculum. We believe that students learn best through practice, reflection, and application, and that when they feel connected to school, they are more likely to bring what they learn home, and beyond. The curriculum meets National and Physical Education Health Standards while also being uniquely designed to address core need of educators and learners ranging from Grade Nursery to Grade XII. We also provide enough exposure for learners to participate in various inter school and open Yoga competitions. We are pledged to empower our learners with the confidence to create and experience 20- 60-minute-long yoga classes that meet standards while improving their health and happiness.

YOUNG MINDS AT WORK ….. VIHAN KHURANA VI - NARMADA Book Review “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio The genre of the book is realistic fiction. The story is of a boy named August, who has facial deformities. His parents and sister are very kind. August has been homeschooled till 5th grade. After that, his parents send him to an actual school. This story tells us about the challenge faced by August in the school. In the school, most of the children avoid August. At the lunch table, August sits alone since everyone stays away from him. Jack, one of his classmates, is very kind to August and becomes his best friend. He’s the only one who sits with August in all the classes. A girl names Summer, who feels sad for August, starts accompanying him during lunch. I really appreciate Jack and Summer as unlike others, they treat August as a normal boy. Despite facing some bullies like Julian and the indifference of his classmates, August remains motivated and completes the year successfully. The story has a wonderful message for the readers. It tells us to never give up and overcome our challenges bravely. I recommend this book to children of age 8 years and above. I give this book a 4.5 / 5.0 star rating. KYNA CHAUDHARY XI - EINSTEIN

Its not only us but her grandparents and other family members, who have been asking for remaining part of recordings as we shared only few moments initially. Two hours just went like few minutes. As a parent I went back with tears of happiness and a memory of lifetime. This wouldn't have been possible without your mentorship and guidance, Ritu ma'am's unparalleled passion for learners and the unmatched hardwork, coordination and collaboration of all the teachers.
Dear Ritu Ma'am, Heartiest congratulations to you for such a mesmerizing annual presentation of Grade 1. Hats-off to the entire team who stood as robust pillars behind the Grade 1 students and brought out the best in them. The preparation must have been a herculean task for the teachers but they made it appear effortless to the parents. Karyashaala is not an easy topic but the lucid script made it so interesting and informative. The well-directed acting of the chirpy kids added so much zing. The careful selection of songs was so relevant, especially "Mitti Anmol" and "Bun Raha Bharat" captured the audience. The dances were so graceful and the choreography was well thought for each song. The kids stole the show when they ran across the stage with Dupattas and scarves and handled their props like proficient dancers. Our hearts beamed with pride when we saw the kids carefully carrying their props to and fro the stage. Thank you for making them so responsible. And yes, the Ladies-in-Red actually set the stage on fire. It was an honor to watch our passionate teachers summarize the show A big thanks for giving us this opportunity to witness such a delightful show. Happy that our tiny tot is putting his brave steps forward unflinchingly, under your tutelage, to face a challenging world. He has taken one step ahead from the origin dot of the learning curve - adsorbing and absorbing what you(the teachers) show him to learn. We really look forward to continuous engagement with you, and furthering the learning process of our son at Lotus Valley. I have seen her develop so much in this one year, from being a shy child to developing into a confident girl, her vast improvement in Hindi written and oral skills, learning Spanish words at this age (which was beyond my imagination) and cherry on the top was the annual function. As you know when he joined in Apr, due to the covid confinement impact, he was very afraid of school and it was so difficult to even get him to the class but because of the remarkable effort put by Rachna ma’am and Gunjan ma’am, today as he graduates from Prep, he is a confident boy who is able to read & write paragraphs, has friends , dances on stage and is happy to be in school. We have come a long way, and we have immense gratitude for LVIS. I would like to state that it is because of the brilliant class teachers like Rachna ma’am and Gunjan ma’am, who not only allowed Kriday to work and settle at his own pace with all the love, warmth and compassion in the world but also guided us as parents with ways and strategies, Kriday has been able to grow & prosper. The show was commendable. I was literally awestruck to see the grand performance by the tiny tots.The hardwork put in by teachers was clearly visible. Only concern I would like to raise is that all the kids should be given equal opportunities of stage presence. Activities like skit, singing and dancing should be distributed in a way that each kid gets to perform his part and not be just a part of a big group. Keep up the good work with this zeal Lotus Valley! Adhyaansh Kansal The show was superb.
