Issue
LVG-15/1st Quarter/2021-22

Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push.
A smile. A world of optimism and hope.
A ‘you can do it when things are tough’.

Dear Reader,

We bring to you the first edition of our quarterly e-magazine, Different Strokes, for the
Academic Session 2021-22. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to challenge us in ways
we could never have imagined, from unparalleled volume of family time to virtual
schooling to working remotely. These unforeseen changes in the way we live,
combined with ambiguity, can be overwhelming. At such a time, it will be helpful for
all of us to stay positive and remind ourselves that it will not be this way forever. This
is a difficult time, but it is just that — a time.

The past many months have witnessed a constant school-home collaboration with
mentors adopting new methods of educating learners and parents stepping up and
taking charge of their wards’ education. Maintaining regular communication between
school and parents is more important than ever as we navigate these difficult times.
The E-magazine is one of the many earnest efforts by the school to keep the parents
well-informed of the various school events across all Grades and classroom
pedagogies.

This quarter was packed with successful Inter-School Events- LotusMUN,
@Binarybots, special days and innovative activities, which empowered our learners
not only to refine their skills but also helped their young minds imbibe the values of
optimism, compassion and gratitude. Moreover, it is through these activities that we
encourage our learners to push their limits, strive for excellence and evolve as
confident individuals. Events such as Mentor Connect Programme, ‘गुफ्तगू…. between
You and Me’, facilitated a heart-to-heart tête-à-tête, thus paving the way towards
establishing a positive Mentor-Mentee relationship.

We take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the parent fraternity for
their passionate involvement and constant trust. We hope you will enjoy cruising
through our learners’ escapades.

Happy Reading!

“Like tiny seeds with potent power to push through tough
ground and become mighty trees, we hold innate reserves of
unimaginable strength and resilience within us.”

My Heartiest Congratulations to the students, parents,
staff and Management of the Lotus Valley Family for
the stellar performance in CBSE Xth & XIIth Board
Examinations. I truly believe in the saying “Never
mould your dreams to fit your limits, mould your limits
to fit your dreams”. The warm and facilitative
environment provides learners with ample
opportunities to grow and maximize their potential and
students’ outstanding result is a testimony of the same.

This pandemic did not only bring us closer to each other, DR. SHAYAMA CHONA
but taught us to be resilient and to love ourselves Padma Shri &
unconditionally. It taught us that the strength to
overcome adversity rests within each one of us and that Padma Bhushan Awardee
nothing is impossible if we believe in our own
efficacy. It is the unconditional love and support given
to each child that brings out their uniqueness and helps
them blossom into graceful lotuses.

The school aptly refers to its members as the ‘Lotus Valley Family’. The management,
students, teachers, parents, housekeepers, guards - everyone is a part of this symbiotic
family, facilitating each other’s development at each step with mutual respect. Lotus Valley
Gurugram has always believed in fostering the right values in its learners, making them an
inseparable part of each child’s mind set. ‘Sewa’ or social service is one of these
fundamental values. No one is more genuine in this world than someone who lightens the
burden of another, especially in times of need like the ones we are witnessing presently.

Nothing makes me happier than to see learners achieve great heights, contribute to
people’s welfare and make their mark on the world. By harnessing the all-round exposure
they receive, our children shoulder the responsibility of building a more inclusive, and
equitable world order. I can say with conviction that the Director-Principal Ms Anita
Malhotra and her team of teachers have worked tirelessly and continue to successfully
transport the institution’s indomitable spirit of boundless learning into the virtual mode. I
am immensely proud to see Lotus Valley uphold its values, soar to new heights and stay true
to its motto “ARISE AWAKE AND STOP NOT TILL THE GOAL IS REACHED”.

With all my love and blessings…

Believe in yourself… Believe in your capacity to do good and great things.
Believe that no storm is so great that you cannot weather it.

I would like to begin by Congratulating our Grade X & XII
learners for their exemplary performance in CBSE Board
Examinations. Their belief in themselves coupled with
hard work and sincere efforts truly surpassed all
limitations and challenges. As we embark on a new
journey in 2021-22, we express our heartfelt gratitude to
the parent fraternity for the immense faith reposed in us.
Recent times have set new norms. From a physical world
we have been pushed into a virtual realm because of the
current COVID-19 situation. However, this has not
deterred us from continuing our tryst with imparting
education and igniting enthusiasm for learning in our
children.

This quarter has been perplexing with some of our Mrs ANITA MALHOTRA
families having gone through unforeseen crisis. In such Director - Principal
testing times, it has become imperative for us to keep our
children positive and to focus on their mental well-being. State & CBSE Awardee

We want to see them stay upbeat, soar to new heights and achieve success in all their
endeavours.

Hard times don’t last forever and every struggle in life only makes us stronger. The skies
may not be blue now, but the fervent hope that a new dawn awaits us cheers our way. We
need to concentrate on the silver lining amidst the thickest and darkest clouds at present
times. We are confident that the clouds of uncertainty will soon be vanquished by the
indefatigable power of the human spirit. Life will get back to normal eventually, but
hopefully, after this experience is over, our lives will include more of appreciation of human
liberty and gratitude to the Almighty.

Moving forward with our sight set on higher goals, let us keep the light of hope, faith and
positivity kindling in our heart and nurture it with love, warmth and respect. We look
forward to hear the laughter of our children ring through and fill the corridors with cheers.
The good times will return and walking into the school will be nothing short of a
celebration!

Wish you all happy and fun-filled days ahead with your loved ones and a Happy 75th
Independence Day!!
