SPECIAL DAY CELEBRATIONS DIWALI CELEBRATION : Grades VI to VIII Lotus Valley makes earnest efforts to enlighten and imbue its learners with the light of hope and knowledge. The most sparkling and twinkling festival of all, Deepawali, was celebrated with great exhilaration in the school.

COALITION OF FOOD SYSTEMS TRANSFORMATION IN INDIA (COFTI) GIZ under German Cooperation The School participated in the coalition workshop on Transforming Food Systems, along with over 100 stakeholders from diverse backgrounds reflecting a collective commitment to addressing food system challenges. This workshop is part of the Coalition of Food Systems Transformation in India (CoFTI) and focuses on ensuring healthier diets within planetary boundaries, following the 2021 UN Food System Summit.

COLLABORATING WITH THE NGO PURE HEARTS Parthav Sarin, Grade X Fuji At Lotus Valley, we take immense pride in nurturing the values of compassion, patriotism, and a commitment to noble causes in our learners. A testament to this enthusiasm among our learners is the recent initiative led by Parthav Sarin, a learner of Grade X Fuji. Collaborating with the NGO Pure Hearts, Parthav initiated a heartfelt tribute to our brave soldiers. This initiative provided learners with a unique opportunity to extend their wishes and send rakhis along with handmade cards to the Indian soldiers, acknowledging their courage and perseverance. Our soldiers, stationed at the borders, resiliently endure numerous challenges while remaining separated from their families, all for the sake of our nation. They continue to uphold the sacred essence of brotherhood through their unwavering vow to safeguard us.

THE ART EXHIBITION- World of Colours Where words fail, Art speaks! Ms. Tamana Chona is an inspiration not only for the Youth but also for the Community at large. Her work is a testament of her go-getter spirit and Never Giveup Attitude Art is an expression of her feelings, moods and life as a whole The Art Exhibition- ‘World of Colours’ held at India International Centre from 17th21st November truly depicted the essence of Tamana’s artistic journey. Through her paintings, she skillfully conveys emotions, thoughts that resonate with her experiences. Her ability to transform a blank canvas into a vibrant world of colors is truly aweinspiring. Each stroke of her brush seems to carry a story, and every hue she chooses reflects a facet of her rich imagination. The 'World of Colours' exhibition was a visual feast, showcasing the diversity and depth of her artistic expression. It will be right to say that – ‘ In a world where words sometimes fall short, Ms. Tamana Chona's Art becomes a language of its own, speaking volumes about the beauty of creativity, the strength of the human spirit, and the endless possibilities that lie within the realm of artistic expression’
THE JOY OF GIVING – Vanshika Jain Grade XII “It is not enough to be compassionate, you must act.” -Dalai Lama With the spirit of kindness and beauty of heart, Vanshika Jain, a student of grade XII has proved that if one wishes to give to society, they will find themselves paving the way. To Vanshika, a wholesome life means to contribute to the betterment of society and engage in philanthropic endeavours through charitable work. Her initiative ‘Bridge the Gap’ aims at connecting capable and committed volunteers, of similar mental prowess with NGOs, in a systematic and collaborative way. This initiative helps create a seamless bridge between the nonprofits and willing volunteers. In recognition of her efforts, Vanshika has been awarded as ‘The Most Dedicated Intern’ by the Neo Fusion Creative Foundation for her consistent efforts. Vanshika, along with Lotus Valley students Mehr Gaharwal, Nysa H Vaid, Diya Bhatnagar, Vanya Jethi (Grade XII), Mysha Sharma and Juniyali Panwar (Grade XI) and Aarnav Bhasin (Grade X), work positively to impact lives and inspire others with their generosity and compassion. From arranging book drives to teaching conversational English at several NGOs, they have created an incredible foundation that mentors children and conducts skill based classes. Their selflessness shines brightly through their efforts and steadfastness.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY Grades IV-XII Learners of Lotus Valley observed World Mental Health Day on Tuesday, 10th October 2023. Tailored activities were conducted across classes to celebrate the day. For Grades 4-5, 'Weigh Your Words' emphasized the power of communication. In Grades 6-8, 'Make Compassion Your Passion' aimed at fostering empathy and understanding. Lastly, for Grades 9-12, grounding exercises were conducted to help manage stress and anxiety.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES Grades IV-XI On Friday, 1st December 2023, learners participated in ‘SAKSHAM- Dis is Ability’ with full zeal. Aligned with the theme of the 2023 International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the activities were purposefully designed to empower and engage students in initiatives to endorse the SDGs in collaboration with individuals with disabilities. Grades IV-VIII immersed in a motivational Ted Talk followed by empathy posters and reflection time.

NATIONAL UNITY DAY Grades IV-XII National Unity Day, celebrated on 31st October 2023 as Rashtriya Ekta Divas, is an important occasion in India's calendar, and is dedicated to acknowledging the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the unity he helped forge. VIETNAM EXPERIENCE PROGRAMME 24th -29th September 2023 Grades VII- XII Lotus Valley organized an Educational Exchange Programme to Vietnam for learners of Grades VII-XII from 24th September to 29th September 2023 with the aim to offer them a unique opportunity to explore the rich culture, history, and traditions of the captivating Country - Vietnam. The Director-Principal, Ms. Anita Malhotra and the Vice Principal, Primary & Middle Wing, Ms. Ritu Jawa accompanied the learners on this wonderful expedition.

EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES Grades III-X Lotus Valley organised the ‘European Day of Languages’ on 26th September, 2023. The aim was to go beyond the academic boundaries of foreign languages and explore various aspects that the European languages have to offer. It was an enlightening experience for the learners to enjoy, learn and experiment with diverse activities in the three languages – Spanish, French & German.

DELE A1 Escolar Spanish Certification for School Learners The DELE A1 Escolar Spanish Certification Exam certifies the linguistic competence of the learners. It tests their understanding and comprehension of common expressions and sentences in Spanish language. 11 students of Grade IX took the above exam on Friday, 12th May, 2023, in Instituto Cervantes, Connaught Place, and passed with flying colours.

IN-SERVICE - TEACHERS' TRAINING PROGRAMME National Curriculum Framework, Foundational Stage “In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn.” The school hosted a workshop on the National Curriculum Framework which was conducted by Dr. Romila Soni, Assistant Professor in the Department of Elementary Education at NCERT. During the workshop, Dr. Soni highlighted the significance of the National Education Policy (NEP) and the paradigm shifts in the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS).
IN-SERVICE TEACHERS' TRAINING PROGRAMME Effective Methods Of Teaching English :Ms Kiran Mishra A series of In-Service Teacher Training Workshops on English Language covering important topics such as- Pronunciation, Tenses and Language Etiquettes were organised by the School on 11th and 13th September, 2023 with the aim to enhance and deepen understanding of English. Ms. Kiran Mishra, an accomplished Media Professional and a renowned English Facilitator with over 38 years of experience in the field of writing, teaching and communication was invited as the Resource Person.

UNSW EDUCATORS MEET University Of New South Wales, Australia On 17th November 2023, foreign education consulting firm ‘I-Step’ organized an educators meet to discuss and promote legal studies and other courses offered at the University of New South Wales, Australia . Social Science educators Priyanka Sandhu and Shubhangi Tiwari participated in the workshop.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP August 2023 'A penny saved, is a penny earned!’ – By Benjamin Franklin A 'Wealth Management Workshop' was organized for the staff on 11th August 2023 in collaboration with 'Scripbox'- A leading digital wealth management organization. The resource person, Mr. Anirudh Dar, discussed the importance of evidence based investing, wealth creation and asset allocation.
Hindi Workshop for Mentors 1 st December’ 2023 At Lotus Valley, we understand the importance of language proficiency, especially for educators, as it is vital for effective communication, cultural preservation, and national cohesion. Recognizing that language learning extends beyond just acquiring words, we conducted a Hindi workshop for Pre-Primary to Grade I mentors. Held on 1st December in the school premises, the workshop was led by our faculty member Ms. Priyanka Gupta. Topics from basic elements like ‘Swar’, ‘Vyanjan’, ‘Pancham Varn’ to more complex concepts like 'Sanyukt Akshar', 'Matras', and pronunciation were covered.

VISTAS : CAREER COUNSELLING Grade X : October 2023 The School’s Career Counselling unit, Vistas, organized an enlightening series of career counselling sessions for Grade X students. The target was to facilitate students’ preparedness for subject selection by providing deeper insights and a comprehensive picture. This imbued the learners with confidence thereby creating a sense of empowerment in them.
CYBER SECURITY COLLOQUIUM Grades VIII to X : September 2023 The School conducted an awareness session on ‘Cyber Security Colloquium’ (Take Cybercare) on September 22nd , 2023 in the School Auditorium. Cyber Security expert Mr Rakshit Tandon enlightened the students.
PUBERTY WORKSHOP A Puberty Education Workshop was organized by the School in collaboration with Whisper India for the young girls of Grades V to IX on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. It was efficacious in empowering them with comprehension, confidence, and a constructive outlook on the changes they should expect during Puberty.
MASTERING THE ART OF CRAFTING WINNING SOPS & SEIZING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UK UNDERGRADUATE COURSES: Dr. Pankhuri Agarwal On October 3rd, 2023, an enlightening online session titled ‘Unlocking Your Path to Success: Mastering the Art of Crafting Winning SOPs and Seizing Scholarships for UK Undergraduate Adventures’ was held in the school's auditorium on MS Teams. This session was exclusively organized for students of Grades XI and XII.

POCSO ACT – Grades IV to VIII : August-November Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram has teamed up with CACA in a joint venture to sensitize the children about their physical and psychological well being. The programme provides age appropriate and progressive safety workbooks based on WHO’s Life Skills and Moral Science which inculcate preventive and holistic approach against child abuse in general, child sexual abuse in particular and child rights and gender equality. It creates a safety net for children through various methods. Each month 1-2 chapters of the workbook are discussed. The questions in the workbook are open-ended. Interesting viewpoints are exchanged which helps learners to have a better understanding of the theme and ensures meaningful take aways from the story. Interesting follow up activities make the sessions more engrossing.

SHIN PROGRAMME Grades IV : August - November 2023 The Shin Programme, prioritizing holistic development, focused on Shapes with Patterns in the above quarter. Learners engaged in refined observation, logical thinking, and problem-solving through number arrangements. Exploring Polyominoes and constructing pentominoes in groups enhanced their understanding of geometric features. Their motivation to explore was fuelled by the sense of accomplishment from solving puzzles. They developed problem-solving skills, improved concentration, and learned perseverance and resilience. Facing varying difficulty levels, they embraced mistakes as opportunities for growth.
