1.3 Colouring: Review
In previous Grades, you have learned about primary colours and their
combination to derive other colours. Here is a brief review of what you
have learned so far.
Knowledge of colour
1. Primary colour: Primary colours are main colours.

2. Secondary colour: We get secondary colours by mixing any two primary
colours. See the picture below.

Note to the teacher
For colour concepts, let students play with colours more. Teachers should
help students divide the circle into 12 parts.

How to colour?
Look at the fruit basket below closely; observe the colours used.
Now, colour the picture. You may need to apply multiple colours and
repeat to produce the actual shades and colours.
Note to the teacher
Teachers may supply outline drawing on sketches to let students practise
colouring. Or, have students sketch line drawing first and then colour the
drawings.

2. Collage Art
As you know, a collage art is made of small pieces of various materials
glued to create a picture. This time, we will learn to create the picture of
a house with pieces of coloured papers.

3. Printing
Spray Printing
In previous Grades, you have learned to print and create
designs. Here, you will learn to create design by using the
technique of stencil and spray.

• Print the design on a paper by placing the stencils on it.
• Cover the borders or any other part you do not like to spray on.
• You may use a toothbrush to spray the colour.

6. Music
In this section, you will learn the basic sounds produced by the
harmonium keyboard.
Harmonium Keyboard
Harmonium is a very popular
instrument. It is a very important
instrument for a singer. It has
three levels sounds: low sound,
middle sound, high sound.
Actually, it is made for classical
music. But nowadays, it is also
used for modern music. It has
three octaves. They are: low,
middle and high. It has 7 normal notes, 5 sharp notes and 5 flat
notes. In seven normal notes, there are five whole tones and two
semi-tones.
