* 'A' 'An' 'The' are called articles.
* 'a, e, i, o, u' are vowel letters. So, we can use 'an' before

the words beginning with them.
* 'b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, y, z' are

consonant letters. So, we can use 'a' before the words
beginning with them.
* 'A' is used before a consonant sound though the first
letter is a vowel. Example : a ewe, a university, etc.
* An is used before vowel sound though the first letter is
a consonant. Example: An hour, an honest man, etc.
