The sound of instruments vibrates the human heart, soul and mind. The examples of instruments are madal, sarangi, guitar, keyboard, harmonium, tabala, sitar, tanpura, dholak, damphoo, etc. These instruments are classically divided into Sur and Taal Baja. 2.2. The ring on the head is carved from a single, hollowed out piece of wood; the heads themselves are goat skin. Dhyangro is basically played by Jhankris (Witch Doctors). The height of the drum is approximately 25 inches, and drum size is 13 x 13 inches. This is an authentic and old Nepali shaman’s drum. A shaman (Dhami-Jhakri) plays it to wipe away the spell of witch or evil on the patient trance rituals in the Himalayas, also played at festivals and on auspicious days. The player beats the dhyangro loud enough to hear across the village. It is a musical instrument of religious and cultural importance of the Sherpa community. b. Binayo Binayo is a traditional Kiranti musical instrument made from Malingo bamboo (one of the varieties of bamboo). It is played by plucking its metal wire reed with the finger being gripped between the teeth. And mouth also played a huge role to create a better sound. b. Dhime / Dhimay / Dhimaya Dhime is rather big compared to other drums played by the Newars and mostly the Jyapu community in Nepal. Dhime is made of wood or metal and both head covers are made of goatskin. It has a varied size diameter of 40 to 50 inches and a length of 17 to 21 inches. There are two types of Dhime musical instrument; one is smaller, called “Dhaacha Dhime” and one is bigger, called “Ma Dhime”. The Dhime left side is played by hand and right side played by thin stick, made of cane which is normally curved at the end. 2.4. Rhythm: Count and Clap (Ganti RaTaali) In music, rhythm is the aspect of music including all the elements such as accent, meter and tempo that relate to forward movement.
