The Sage and the Mouse Long, long ago, there lived a great saint in the middle of a dense forest. The saint had magical powers, too. He had a beautiful hut among the flowers, fruits and trees in the forest. There lived many birds and animals in the forest. There were peacocks, pigeons, sparrows, mynahs, doves, eagles, bulbuls, vultures, pheasants, owls, woodpeckers, etc. There were elephants, tigers, beers, lions, jackals, deer, leopards, rabbits, kangaroos, cats, rats,snakes, frogs, etc. in the forest. The forest was full of grasses, bushes, flowers, fruits and trees. There were falls, rivulets and ponds inside the forest. The saint used to live in his meditation all the time.
