Flying Fish 1, 198X Dummiyama Daily No. 1 'Wife attaches small waist pouch to victim before every Tokyo trip to avoid further wallet loss. AKIRA TORIYAMA LOSES WALLET November X. Dumb manga artist from Aichi Prefecture, Akira Toriyama (27), went to Tokyo to appear on NHK radio. However, Toriyama, who was panicking about his upcoming radio debut, dropped his wallet on the way to the studio. The wallet contained the victim's driver's license and the outrageous sum of $500! (Ifyou think about it for a minute, this is just enough to pay for the train and the hotel. He's actually quite the cheapskate.) E> [D ffia a w D A I L V In fact, throughout the radio broadcast, Toriyama could be heard to mutter "Five hundred dollars...that's like 2,000 video games, 1,000 cups of instant ramen..." Toriyama was able to board the train home with the money from his NHK appearance, and he began desperately trying to think of an excuse to tell his wife about the wallet. In a cruel twist of fate, the train arrived at Nagoya Station before he had had a chance to concoct a suitable fable. Just that day, his wife had passed on a $30 scarf and instead purchased one for $10. Imagine the scarf you could buy for $500. Akira Toriyama Caught Red-Handed * in Crime of Perversion? October X. Flying Fish 2, 198X Dummiyama Daily No. 2 October X. Rural Aichi Prefecture resident and manga artist Akira Toriyama (27) bought a Honda Civic upon its debut and was still boasting about it, despite bad reviews when the new Honda Civic Turbo was announced the following year. The dumb manga artist Akira Toriyama, now enraged, began writing "TURBO" on the side of his car whenever it was featured in his manga Dr. Slump. Other manga artists in the area, upon witnessing this despicable behavior, began to laugh at him and call him names. Eventually, they asked him to bow to the Turbo and admit the folly of his ways. However, Toriyama ignored their request. At this moment, he is reportedly at home sitting astride the garden wall, upon which he has written "Civic Turbo." Akira Toriyama Acquires Birds Akira Toriyama (27), seeing significance in the fact that the Japanese word for bird, namely "tori," was part of his name, began to think (rather dumbly) that perhaps one ofhis ancestors had been aided by a bird in some way, and so he bought five birds, just like that. One in particular, a cockatiel, was very large and was said to bear a strong resemblance to Toriyama himself. Furthermore, recently, even the bird's character has come to resemble that of its owner. When the door to its cage is opened, the cockatiel first flaps its wings, then flies straight into a window and crashes to the ground. Reporter: Mr. A. Illustrations: Akira Toriyama
