Today, at a press conference, Akira Toriyama spoke in earnest for 30 whole minutes about his home¬ town in Aichi Prefecture. "I’m Toriyama. Everyone says that where I come from is totally rural, but it's really quite a hip town. "The local coffee shop, Hip Coffee Shop X, is so trendy that you’d be hard-pressed to find a place like it even in Tokyo! E> 03 m a ZA un ZA D A I L V "I mean, the decor inside is so tropical. The menu's all in French, I think. The ornamental plants are huge, the tables are made of white wood, and all the beer is imported! "See!? It's not really the boondocks after all!" When one of our reporters visited the coffee shop to investigate the claims, he found it to be an elegant establishment that might be found in the U.S., but to his surprise, the house next door was growing eggplants! A farm tractor drove by in front of the shop, which is surrounded mostly by fields. And someone had put a hoe in the umbrella stand out front.
