Alumni, Aeronautical Engineering
NMIT
Four years ago when I chose to do aeronautical engineering, I knew I was taking the road
less travelled, but I wasn’t walking alone. While the preponderance of students pursuing
engineering were opting for branches more known and widely accepted there were some
who dared to do the different, some out of passion and others with the heart to test new
waters. On the august of 2013, when I attended my first lecture at the Department of
Aeronautical Engineering at the Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, I among a class
of 70 other passionate and driven students from different backgrounds not only from India but from different
corners of the word, identities, cultures and talents, I was certain that I had taken one of the best decisions of my
life.
The department of Aeronautical Engineering started in the year 2011-12 is now burgeoning at such at a fast
pace and the credit undoubtedly goes to faculty that has unceasingly worked hard to make the quality of our
education exceptional, in every aspect be it the lectures, well equipped labs, organizing of departmental events,
presentations, fests, clubs. The knowledgeable and ever motivating faculty has strongly encouraged heuristic
learning among its students and under their tutelage the students have done immensely well for themselves in
their academic life and are doing very well in their careers even post-graduation making us technically competent
with the highest academic standards to be able to face the industry.

I am what I am today not just due to the dedication and hard work of mine but also of all the faculties in NMIT.
All the faculties especially from the Department of Civil Engineering which was my major, were always supportive
and responsive to my inquisitive nature. They supported me, taught me and followed me till I reached my goal
and all along the path, always encouraged me. Even today, whenever I go to my alma-matter, I can feel the
warmth and love. I will forever be indebted to the perseverance of each and every member who crossed my path
during my stay there and taught me new and valuable lessons which helped me grow not just academically but
in life. I wish all the luck to the department of Civil Engineering and the college as a whole and I am sure that
NMIT will always make sure its students are taken care of in every aspect, be it academic, intellectual or emotional,
to aspire and become leaders of tomorrow.

The years that we spend in our college are a big transitional stage in every one’s life.
The time that we spend in college is the preparation for our future endeavors. Choosing a
college is very vital which can potentially impact your career or in some cases your future
itself. Your choice will out show the quality of education that you ought to receive. However,
I was lucky enough to land up in an incomparable place that is NMIT :)
This golden era not only takes you closer to being qualified for a professional world and prosper in your career;
it also imparts inspiration to feed your dreams and choose independence to enjoy your life and shape up your
entire future itself. NMIT has created a strong foundation of knowledge in me which helps me even today to face
all the difficulties not just in my technical world but as well as in my personal life. Every professor in NMIT is an
artistic merit and source of knowledge to all the students. My time in NMIT has enriched my life in all the possible
ways. It has provided me with the required tools to enhance my skills, taught me the value of knowledge about
this diverse world, people and concepts in general.
Eventually, it has enabled me to become more successful in life when I finally graduated as an Engineer to face
the true world. It also has imparted the knowledge about the importance of thinking differently and asking valid
questions in all situations before you accept anything or agree upon any decision. All these aspects of college
has also made me a complete or well-rounded as a true human being and respect everyone around me and
their thoughts. All of these experience that I had in NMIT are truly irreplaceable and I would not trade them for
anything in the world. If I could go back in time and speak to my much younger version when I was first asked
the question, “What has been your best experience of life?” the very licit angelic version of me would certainly
be surprised by what my answer is now. To summarize, my experience at NMIT has taught me one fundamental
thing, life isn’t about finding yourself but life is about creating yourself. You do not find yourself you create yourself
by what you choose to do at the very present moment. Let it be high up on the clouds or the rock bottom of the
floor you need to face it well and behave wise. Only our college life prepares us for all of this unpredictability of
our future. It was a perfect blend of joy and hardships. I met different people, learnt about them and their cultures

OSTIUM Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology has been one of the best places in my life which enabled me to learn
and keep myself always above the engineering and technical crowd. Even though the institution had just been
established when I came in just as one of the second year batch, the institution rapidly built up the required
infrastructure and esteem required for exposure and placements of all us. The very knowledgeable faculty showed
the right direction and tremendous dedication and courage in the way the course work was handled and making
themselves always available, making sure that none of the serious undergraduates felt left out, which helped
us step-in right into our dream careers. Throughout the journey of the course the faculty had shown extreme
support whether be it offering an elective even if very less strength of students were interested in it (esp. because
they were core electives like DSP / VLSI for electronics students) or when it comes to extended overtime in labs
and projects in holidays or after-college hours; or, when it comes to very basic thing as how books were issued
in library with student friendly schemes like book-bank which let the student not worry about his economical
position during the course. The college had a very good status/respect, which reflected in activities where very
great well-known technical people and famous visiting professors and leading industrialists accepting invites for
various symposiums held inside the college or even to get easy outside expert guidance for our project works.
In fact our faculty had people from great positions from ITI and BEL. Overall the institution has helped us build
more competitive dreams also chase it and we all have come forward a long way with our institution, creating a
win-win path along the way.

NMIT, a Second home to me. I would like to start by showing my gratitude towards the college which gave
my immense opportunity to explore the technology. I was lucky enough to have got some wonderful seniors who
motivated me to spend my vacations doing Robotics Research activities and I can bet at Btech level there is no
better place to learn technology other than NMIT and Center for Robotics Research.
It changed my full perception towards technology and how I approached my engineering took a drastic turn

possible without the immense support from my department which gave me all the freedom to explore and I

My Experience at NMIT
“Who we are is a cumulative set of experiences that we have as we grow up. For me NMIT was incredibly formative.
Each of my professors and lab staff, had something unique to offer, and helped lay a solid foundation of engineering
basics. There was also a lot of encouragement from the principal and ready help from the admin staff.
The experience of interacting with people from such a wide range of backgrounds via extra-curricular activities
like the music club, the literary forum, and inter-collegiate fests truly opened my mind.
NMIT was 3 years old when I commenced my degree. It’s heartening to see the progress that it has made over the
years. In retrospect NMIT allowed me to stand on my own feet and to mature as a person. In future, I hope that it
be regarded for providing an atmosphere conducive to developing a curious mind, challenging norms, exploring

The decision to choose Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology for my post-graduate studies (2015-2017)
