"Two of my 'Glory Days' Friends are
were during Pomperettes.
One was when we got to memori• es
wear green stockings and
Santa hats; the other was to cherish
when we finally got to do a
flashlight routine." L ittle did we know that first day
when we walked through the
Becky Dieter doors of South High, that we
would walk back out four years later with
so many memories. Those memories are
made of the friends we've made, the
thinab s we've learned and the ways we've
chanaed during those four short years.

Remember when you met a special
person and just knew you would be
friends for the duration of high school?
You hoped that this friendship would
not deteriorate after graduation. Or how
about that teacher or coach you looked
up to?

As the song says, "Glory Days" pass
us by. Sometimes they are ?ver bef?re
we know it. Have a good time durmg
these four years and cherish your
"Glory Days."

Throw away
books!
It's the weekend

T hank God it's Friday! Throw your
books in your locker and jet for the
nearest doors.
On the weekend the majority of the students
break out to party. There are always football
games or other sporting events to attend. Some
like to drive around while others prefer their
bikes. Movies and the shopping malls are other
favorite spots.

Whatever the choice, the feeling of being
free has once again shown up. If there is a time
for our "Glory Days," it has to be the weekends.

At top, Tim Newcomer scoots a little closer to Ulla Martinkainen. At left,
Tami Higgs tries to show Benita Barton a few cheerleading tricks. Above,
Karen Davis waits for the lights to change.

Top, Hey, Stephanie East, watch where you're going.

Dear World is 'madcap'

N ovember 8 and 9, the South High Drama
Department performed the madcap mu-
sical Dear World.
With a cast of close to 50 students, anyone who
wanted to be a star had his/her break.

The show wouldn't have been brought off the
pages without the direction of Mr. Jim Eisenhardt.
Others who worked on the musical were: musical
director, Ms. Mary Lou Jackson; instrumental
director, Mr. Mark Arnold; set designer, Mr. Doug
Young, and choreographer, Steve Swirczek.

Dear World, based upon the classic French
play, The Madwoman of Chaillot, is about a
woman trying to save the world from evil men who
want to turn Paris into an oilfield.

Top left, Julian (Tom Davis) is t rying to discover
himself in Dear World.

Students are
alive and well
at South High!

T here is a lot of learning that
goes on at South High. But
there is a lot of life outside
the classroom as well.

As soon as bells ring, the halls
fill with students eager to exchange
the latest gossip, catch up on week-
end plans or discuss Friday's game.
In every corner of the building
students are living out their high
school days with energy and enthusi-
asm at South High.

Inside the classroom and out,
our students enjoyed being them-
selves and being together as they
made the 1985-'86 school year a year
to remember.

Above right, Glenn Moore thinks,
"What a night!"
"Huh?" asks Steve Gardner.
Far right, Tina Marquez and Pam
Lentis complain, "I can't do a thing with
my hair."

When you made that winning touch-

You get out of a sport exactly what

th only two returning players,
most of the team was inexperienced. The
team worked hard on improving their
skills throughout the season. Coach
Kastrick commented, "We were a much
improved team at the end of the season.
We're a team of the future."
The .record of one win and eight
losses definitely does not reflect the
talent and enthusiasm of the team.
