ESI Club: back row, Sofia Mayorga, Ms. Leah Souk up, Ms. Pam,
Joan Hamilton, Maria Ontiveros, M iguel Orozco, Juan Ramirez;
front row, Aida Escolero, Maria Mayorga, Carlos Macias, Raul We ll, I have been thinking about when I first met you and
Macias, Mr. Stan Flowerday. (Photo by Marjorie Waterman) it seems like such a short time ago, whe n actually it has been
several years. You were in the e ighth grade. I was proud to be-
come your mentor, I was trying to reme mber how we became
friends, whe n I realized it does not matter how we became frie nds,
but what does matter is that we grew to be frie nds. You have al-
ways been a very sepcial part of my heart. Back the n you told me
one of your goals was to graduate from high school. You are about
to reach that goal and I a m really proud o f you. I am proud of you
because through times that were hard and troubling you remained
strong. You continued to work to reach your goal. Graduating is
one of the many goals that you have and this is only the beginning
of the successes that you will have in li fe. Keep your mind focused
on your dreams. In life there will always be someone or something
that will come along to put you back two steps for every three you
make. "/ want you to learn to deal with and listen to anything
without losing your temper or your self-confidence." (These are
my words of wisdom that I also apply to my li fe.) Although we do
not have the opportunity to speak much, remember that I will al-
ways be here for you in any way that I can.
May God bless you.
