A scene which brought forth one of
the innumerable laughs throughout the
play showed Dorene Barrasky throw out
her hands in horror as Jeri Pluedeman
kissed Vern Barnett.

At Federal Inspection, on April 29, an inspection com m ittee observed the
leadership, drill, a nd command of Company "B, ". inspected the Arms Room,
checked the records of South's Battle Group, and reviewed the Rifle Platoon
Defense tactics, the Squad Fire Team tactics, and the Butts Platoon and Crack
Squad drills. Later SHS cadets performed a Brigade Drill at Fort Omaha.
At the Recognition Night ceremony, on May 20, Cadet Major Art Simon
received the World-Hera ld's annual ROTC medal as the "outstanding cadet"
at South High . '.Art had won the "Best Junior Cadet" medal ln 1959 .
