Southites saw the "old building" demolished to make
way for the long awaited new auditorium.

A highlight of this operation was the opening of the
cornerstone by Leo Lowry, Miss Fern Eads, Miss Flora Jor-
gensen, and Mrs. Kathryn Kavanagh, all South graduates
and teachers who had attended its la ying. Mr. Krebs, Mr ..

Sorensen, and a group of 1960 South Hi\th students were
present to witness the c;,eremony.

Throughoutthe final semester the seniors directed their
attention toward commencement,
