Allah Subhanoo Wa Ta'la sent many prophets How many
to teach people what He likes and doesn't prophets can
like. He sent Nuh, Yunus, Ibrahim, Hud,
Moosa, Suleyman, Eesa, and many more. you name?
All of the prophets were very good people.
The last prophet Allah sent to
teach people was Prophet
Mohammed. He was the BEST
PROPHET and the best person in
all of the world.
Prophet Mohammed was the prophet sent for me and
you to learn from. We have to follow his way just like we
follow a map so we can go to Jannah. Don’t you want to
go to jannah?
Let’s read his story together and do our best to follow
him.
Prophet Mohammed was born in
Mecca. Mecca is where the Kabah is.
Prophet Mohammed was born more
than 1,400 years ago. At that time, the
people were doing very bad things.
They were doing shirk.
They put lots of idols in the Kabah, and they would make
salah and dua to them! They were also fighting with each
other, not saying the truth, and doing many other bad
things. So Allah sent the final prophet to show them the
right way.
Mohammed’s father was Abdullah.
Mohamed’s mother was Aminah.
Sallah Allahoo alyhee wa salam,
Sallah Allahoo Ala Mohamed
One night, when Prophet Mohammed was still
a baby in Aminah’s stomach, Aminah had a
wonderful dream that there was a light coming
out of her and it was shining bright all the way to
Syria! This was because Prophet Mohammed
would be the one who would help the people go
from the darkness of bad things to the light
(Islam).
Sadly, Prophet Mohammed’s father’s life
ended before Prophet Mohammed was
born. He never got to see his dad.
But he had a foster mother, Halimah. A long time ago,
the people of Mecca would send their children to the
“badiya” or the desert which had clean air and
helped make their children grow stronger. There, the
children would learn the pure Arabic language.
Foster mothers would give them milk and take care
of them.
Halima said that when the foster
mothers went to Mecca to pick the
children to take with them, none of the
ladies wanted to choose Mohammed
(sallah Allahoo alyhee wa salam). They
thought because his father had died
and he was an orphan, his family
wouldn’t be able to pay them to take
care of him. But, in the end, Halima
ended up taking Mohammed sallah
Allahoo alyhee wa salam.
A Special Boy As soon as Halima took little
Prophet sallah Allahoo alyhee
wa salam, everything changed
for the better for her.
-Her very slow donkey
suddenly became a super
fast donkey.
- When they went to her home
in the desert, her old camel
started having much more
milk.
Halima herself also had much more milk to
give. She realized right away that Mohammed
salah Allahoo aylhee wa salam was a very
special boy.
Even the land around her house suddenly
had much more grass...
One day, when Prophet Mohammed was 4
years old, some boys he had been playing
with, went running to Halima. They told her
a man had come and they thought he had
hurt Prophet Mohammed.
But, it was actually the angel Jibreel that
had come. He had taken out a blood clot
from Prophet Mohammed’s heart and
washed his heart with Zam Zam water.
Jibreel had cleaned and purified Prophet
Mohammed’s heart so that it was the
purest heart ever.
After that, Prophet Mohammed
went back to his mother...But
when he was 6 years old, his
mother passed away. His
grandfather, Abdul Mutalib, then
took care of him. Abdul Mutalib
used to love Mohammed sallah
Allahoo alyhee wa salam dearly.
When Abdul Mutalib would go to the Kabah, he
used to sit on a special blanket or couch. He would
let Prophet Mohammed sallah Alalhoo alyhee wa
salam sit on it, too.
But then Abdul Mutalib passed away, too.
The prophet sallah Allahoo alyhee wa
salam went and lived with his uncle Abu
Talib. Abu Talib treated him like his own
son, and he would prove to be one of
Prophet Mohammed’s greatest
supporters.
Mohammed’s Grandfather was AbdulMutalib,
Mohammed’s Uncle was Abu Talib…
Sallah Allahoo Aleya Mohammed,
Sallahoo Alyhee wa salam
Prophet Mohammed grew bigger. He was an excellent
young man. He stayed away from shirk and bad things.
He took care of the goats and sheep. He was a
shepherd or راﻋﻰ ﻏﻧم.
When he was close to 12 years old, Prophet
Mohammed traveled with Abu Talib to Al-Sham
on a business trip. There, a learned man
named Bahira said: “This is the prophet (ھذا ﺳﯾد
ھذا رﺳول رب اﻟﻌﺎﻟﻣﯾن,)اﻟﻌﺎﻟﻣﯾن.” He saw in Prophet
Mohammed the signs of a prophet.
He said that whenever Prophet
Mohammed passed a rock or a
tree, it made sujood to him. And
they only do that to a prophet!
Bahira told his uncle to keep
him away and safe so that
nobody would hurt him.
Prophet Mohammed grew up, and
everybody around him saw that he
had the best of manners. They called
him Al Ameen: the one who always
says the truth. He started working for
a woman named Khadijah radiya
Allah anha. She was an amazing
woman. She saw that Prophet
Mohammed had the most excellent
manners, always said the truth and
was very kind.
Khadijah asked Prophet Mohammed to get married.
Together they started a family.
Prophet Mohammed and Khadijah had:
One year, the walls of the Kabah
were damaged by some floods.
The Quraysh began to rebuild the
Kabah, but then they started to
fight. Everybody wanted the
special honor of putting The Black
Stone (Al Hajar Al Aswad) back in
its place.
Finally, one of the elders had an
idea. He said that the first man
who would walk in the gate the
next morning should be the judge,
and decide who gets to put the
stone back.
It was Prophet Mohammed who walked in. They were
so happy that it was him.
When Prophet Mohammed heard the problem, he had
a wonderful idea. He said that they could put the stone
on a big blanket or cloth, and each leader from each tribe
would hold a part of it and lift the stone up. Then, Prophet
Mohammed would put it in place.
When Prophet Mohammed
turned 40 years old, he would
go to the cave Hira, ﻏﺎر ﺣراءand
think about Allah and ask for
guidance . He would ask Allah
to show him the right way.
Sometimes he would stay there
for a few days and he had very
little food with him.
He also started having
dreams that all came true.
One day, during Ramadan, the Prophet sallah
Allahoo alyhee wa salam was sitting in the
cave Hira, when the angel Jibreel came to
him. The angel hugged him tight and then
said:
Read. اﻗرا
Prophet Mohammed said:
“ ﻣﺎ أﻧﺎ ﺑﻘﺎرئI cannot read”
2- Jibreel repeated: Read. اﻗرا
Prophet Mohammed said:
“ ﻣﺎ أﻧﺎ ﺑﻘﺎرئI cannot read”
3- Jibreel said: Read in the Name of
Your Lord...
Prophet Mohammed was so scared. He ran
home to his dear wife, Khadijah and said
"Zamilooni, Zamilooni", which means “cover
me in a blanket”.
Khadijah Radiya Allah Anha covered him, and
comforted him. She told him that Allah would
never let anything bad come to him because he
helped those who needed help and was so good to
everybody.
She took Prophet
Mohammed to her cousin,
Warqah bin Nawfil who was
a very learned man. He told
them that Mohammed
Sallahoo alayhee wa salam
was the LAST Prophet...and
he warned them that the
people would try to take him
out of Mecca.
The next thing the Quran revealed was
So prophet Mohammed sallah
Allahoo alyhee wa salam
started telling people about
Allah and the Quran. But he
started with his closest friends
and family.
The first people to believe in
him were:
1- Khadijah radiya Allah Anha
2- Abu Bakr: the prophet's best friend
3- Ali- the son of Abu Talib
and
4- Zaid
They were the first Muslims.
They invited their close family
and friends to Islam, too
After 3 years of telling people privately and
secretly, Allah ordered Mohammed Sallah
Allahoo alyhee wa salam to tell the people of
his tribe (and everyone).
Now. , the call to Islam was no longer a secret.
So Prophet Mohammed went to Al Safa
Mountain, and he stood there and called
out
“Ya Sabaha...Ya Sabaha”,
which was like a call for help.
The people heard him and came running.
The prophet asked them, "If I said there were
horsemen behind this mountain coming to attack,
would you believe me?”
They said, "Yes". Because he was Al Ameen
Then, the Prophet sallah Allahoo
alyhee wa salam told them, "that I am
warning you of a punishment from
Allah if you do not believe in Him and
worship Him alone”. Abu Lahab said
“Tabin laka” (May you perish)
And from that moment on,
Prophet Mohammed began
There were people
who listened to him,
and believed him. اﻣﻧوا.
That means, they
became Muslim.
to tell all
the people.
But many others
did not. They did
not listen and they
did not become
Muslim. Many of
these were from
the leaders of
Quraysh.
The people who did listen and who
became Muslims needed to learn Islam.
The Prophet sallah allahoo Alyhee wa
salam chose a small house near Al Safa
Mountain to be their secret school. It was
called Dar Al Arqam.
leaders of Quraysh saw that the
Muslims were serious about Islam, they tried very
hard to get the Muslims to give up Islam and go
back to their old ways. They would laugh at the
Muslims and make fun of them. They would say
mean things to them.
They also tried their best not to let people listen to
the Prophet. When traders would come to visit
Mecca, they would tell them, “Don’t listen to
Mohammed. He is a ‘sorcerer/ he’s playing magic on
people.” اﺳﺗﻐﻔر ﷲ
The Qurayshis even went to
Prophet Mohammed’s uncle
Abu Talib and asked him to
tell Prophet Mohammed to
stop.
They would give Prophet
Mohammed lots of money
and wealth and an
important position in the
society, but he had to stop
telling people to listen to
Allah and become Muslim.
