The Meccan Period

Together, Abu Bakr and
Prophet Mohammed sallah
Allahoo alyhee wa salam
began the trip to Yathrib . As
they were leaving, the prophet
turned and looked at Mecca
and said,

“How good you are as a
land and how dear you are to

my heart! Had your people
not forced me out of you, I
would have never come out

and left you”

Abu Bakr and the prophet sallah Allahoo alyhee
wa salam didn’t didn’t go straight to Yathrib,
though. They took a different way to confuse the
Quryashis. They found a cave called Al Thawr and
hid inside.



When the Quryashis realized Prophet Mohammed
had escaped, they were so angry. They called a
search for the prophet. They even promised a
reward of 100 camels.



While Prophet Mohammed sallah
Allahoo alyhee wa salam and Abu Bakr
were in the cave, the Qurayshis came
very close to finding them. Abu Bakr
was scared. But Prophet Mohammed
told him “Don’t be sad. Allah is with us”.

Allah protected them and they were not
found.

However, a lot of people did want the reward of the
100 camels.
One man
was called
Suraqah
bin Malik.

He was able to track the Prophet sallah allahoo
alyhee wa salam and Abu Bakr down. He saw them
and he raced behind them.

But then, his horse
fell down in the sand
and wouldn’t move.
He got up again, and
his horse’s legs got
stuck in the sand
again. He realized
that Prophet
Mohammed was
protected by Allah
and he did not take
him to the Qurayshis.

And the Prophet and Abu Bakr went on to Madinah...
