HRH The Princess is the second daughter of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. HRH The Princess is a granddaughter of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. She has one older sister and two younger brothers, namely HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha and HRH Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti. HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya called herself “Than Ying” as at birth, HRH The Princess held the title of “Mom Chao ” with the name “Mom Chao Butnampetch Mahidol ” and was later given a new title of “Mom Chao Chakrityapha Mahidol ”. Later on, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother royally bestowed a new name of “Mom Chao Sirivanvari Mahidol ” to Her Royal Highness. Afterwards, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great bestowed a royal command to give the title of “HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana ” on June 15, 2005 and when His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua ascended to the throne, His Majesty therefore had a royal command to establish as “HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya ” .

Later, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Department of Creative Arts, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University, with the First-Class Honors (Gold Medal) with an average score of 3.93 and was awarded the Outstanding Student Award for the 2008 academic year with satisfactory results. After that, she pursued a master’s degree at the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in France. Chulalongkorn University presented an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Fine Arts of the year 2018 to HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya in performing her royal duties in improving the quality of life of the people and to glorify her ability to apply knowledge of fine arts in integration with other bodies of knowledge in a multi-disciplinary manner to improve the people’s quality of life in the creative economy and creative cultural industries that are beneficial to both the academic and professional circles, as well as the people and the nation. สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา ทรงพระอัจฉริยภาพในด้านต่างๆ โดยเฉพาะด้านศิลปะ การออกแบบแฟชั่นและ เครื่องประดับ เป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับนานาชาติ ทรงเป็นองค์ผู้อ� ำนวยการสร้างสรรค์แบรนด์เสื้อผ้าและเครื่องประดับ “สิริวัณณวรี” (SIRIVANNAVARI BANGKOK) พระอัจฉริยภาพทางด้านการออกแบบแฟชั่นของพระองค์ เป็นที่ประจักษ์และได้รับการยกย่องในระดับโลก พระองค์ได้รับเชิญจากห้องเสื้อ ปิแอร์ บัลแมง ให้จัดแสดงผลงานการออกแบบเสื้อผ้าจ� ำนวน 39 ชุด ในงานสัปดาห์แฟชั่นปารีส ฤดูใบไม้ผลิและฤดูร้อน ประจ� ำปี พ.ศ. 2551 ที่โรงอุปรากรปาเลส์การ์นีเย กรุงปารีส เมื่อวันที่ 29 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2550 โดยเสื้อผ้าที่จัดแสดงนี้ พระองค์มีแนวพระด� ำริในการผสมผสาน ผ้านุ่งไทยในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ ที่ตัดเย็บโดยช่างจากวิทยาลัยในวังหญิง เข้ากับเครื่องแต่งกายของชาวตะวันตกอย่างลงตัว พระองค์ยังทรงพระปรีชาสามารถทางด้านกีฬา โดยได้รับคัดเลือกให้เป็นนักกีฬาทีมชาติไทย และทรงเป็นตัวแทนประเทศไทยไปร่วมแข่งขัน ในการแข่งขันกีฬาแบดมินตันซีเกมส์ พ.ศ. 2548 ประเภททีมหญิง ที่ประเทศฟิลิปปินส์ โดยได้รับรางวัลเหรียญทองและอีกหลายรายการ ซึ่งนอกจากกีฬาแบดมินตันแล้ว พระองค์ยังสนพระทัยกีฬาขี่ม้าตั้ งแต่พระชันษา 9 ปี และได้พัฒนามาเป็นนักกีฬาขี่ม้า พระองค์ได้รับ รางวัลชนะเลิศในรายการไทยแลนด์แชมเปียนชิพคิงส์คัพ พ.ศ. 2555 ในวันที่ 21 กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. 2561 ต่อมา สมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว มหาวชิราลงกรณ บดินทรเทพยวรางกูร มีพระบรมราชโองการโปรดเกล้าโปรดกระหม่อม พระราชทานพระยศ “พันเอกหญิง” ในฐานะ พระอาจารย์หัวหน้าแผนก โรงเรียนทหารม้า ศูนย์การทหารม้า (อัตราพันเอก) นิตยสารฟอร์บส์ ได้ถวายการจัดล� ำดับให้พระองค์อยู่ในล� ำดับที่ 16 เยาวราชนิกุลที่ได้รับความนิยมมากสุดในโลก ในปี พ.ศ. 2556 ขณะที่เว็บไซต์ AskMen ได้ถวายการจัดล� ำดับให้พระองค์เป็นเจ้าหญิงที่โดดเด่นที่สุด อันดับที่ 7 และนิตยสาร Garzia จากประเทศอังกฤษ ยังได้ขอพระราชทานถวายการจัดอันดับให้พระองค์เป็นสมาชิกราชวงศ์ที่มีสไตล์ที่สุดจากทั่ วโลก HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya displays her proficiency in various fields, including sports. She was selected as an athlete for the Thai national team and represented Thailand to compete in the 2005 SEA Games badminton competition for women’s team in the Philippines, where she won gold medals and many other awards. In addition to badminton, HRH The Princess has also been interested in the equestrian sport since the age of 9. Later, she became interested in being an equestrian athlete and won the Thailand Championship King’s Cup in 2012. On July 21, 2018, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua had a royal decree to bestow the rank of ‘Female Colonel’ as His Majesty holds the rank of head of the department of the Cavalry School, Cavalry Center (Colonel). In addition, HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya also has a talent in designing fashion and accessories which is outstanding and recognizable internationally. HRH The Princess runs her own clothing brand, namely “SIRIVANNAVARI BANGKOK” The proficiency of HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya is evident not only among the Thai people, but it is globally acclaimed. She was invited by Pierre Balmain Couture to showcase 39 designs of her collection at Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2008 at the Palais Garnier in Paris on September 29, 2007. 24 สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา ตั้ งพระทัยมั่นในการสืบสาน รักษา และต่อยอดพระราชปณิธานอันยิ่ งใหญ่ ในสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง สมเด็จย่าของพระองค์ ด้วยพระวิสัยทัศน์และพระอัจฉริยภาพ ตามแนวพระด� ำริ “ผ้าไทยใส่ให้สนุก” คือความสุขที่ได้เลือกใช้ศิลปหัตถกรรมไทย เพื่อให้รายได้กลับสู่ชุมชน ส่งเสริมและกระตุ้นผ้าไทย ให้ทันสมัยสู่สากล เป็นที่นิยมในทุกเพศ ทุกวัย และทุกโอกาส สร้างประโยชน์อันล้นพ้นให้แก่ประชาชนชาวไทย หนึ่งในโครงการที่สร้างประโยชน์ คือ มูลนิธิศิลปาชีพฯ ในสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ ที่เน้นการฟื้ นคืนภูมิปัญญาผ้าไทยและงานหัตถศิลป์ไทย สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้จัดตั้ ง “กลุ่มทอผ้าไหมแห่งแรก ของประเทศไทย” ของมูลนิธิศิลปาชีพฯ ขึ้นที่บ้านนาหว้า อ� ำเภอนาหว้า จังหวัดนครพนม และเมื่อวันที่ 23 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2565 สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา ได้เสด็จไปยังวัดธาตุประสิทธิ์ อ� ำเภอนาหว้า จังหวัดนครพนม ทอดพระเนตร นิทรรศการความเป็นมาของกลุ่มทอผ้าไหมกลุ่มแรกของมูลนิธิส่งเสริมศิลปาชีพฯ และได้พระราชทานแนวพระด� ำริในการพัฒนาภูมิปัญญา ฟื้ นฟูลายผ้าและความเป็นมาของโครงการศิลปาชีพฯ ตามพระราชปณิธานของ สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนี พันปีหลวง ที่ทรงมุ่งมั่นฟื้ นคืนภูมิปัญญาผ้าลายโบราณให้มีความร่วมสมัยสู่สากล เป็นการสร้างงาน สร้างรายได้ให้แก่ชุมชนบ้านนาหว้า อันเป็นที่มาของ “โครงการนาหว้าโมเดล” และได้พระราชทานตราสัญลักษณ์ส� ำหรับโครงการสืบสานพระราชปณิธาน “นาหว้าโมเดล” ที่มีความหมายลึกซึ้งน่าประทับใจ สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา ทรงให้ความส� ำคัญกับงานด้านศิลปาชีพมาตั้ งแต่ทรงพระเยาว์ พระองค์ทรง มีโอกาสโดยเสด็จ “สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง” ไปทรงเยี่ยมสมาชิกศิลปาชีพในภูมิภาคต่างๆ ท� ำให้ทรงรับรู้ว่า “สมเด็จย่า” ของพระองค์ ทรงให้ความส� ำคัญในการอนุรักษ์ภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่ นที่สืบทอดจากรุ่นถึงรุ่น อีกทั้ งยังเป็นการ ส่งเสริมให้คนในชาติเกิดความรักและภาคภูมิใจในงานหัตถศิลป์ของชาติ เป็นการสร้างงาน สร้างอาชีพจุนเจือครอบครัว มีเกียรติและมีความ ภาคภูมิใจในตนเอง โดยเฉพาะการถักทอผืนผ้าด้วยมือนั้น ถือเป็นงานหัตถศิลป์ที่ได้รับการยกย่อง แสดงให้เห็นถึงความมีอารยะและภูมิปัญญา พื้นถิ่ นในแต่ละภูมิภาค สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา จึงมีพระปณิธานอันแน่วแน่ที่จะสนับสนุนและส่งเสริม อาชีพให้แก่ช่างทอผ้าและผู้ประกอบการกลุ่มผ้าไทยให้เป็นอาชีพที่มีความยั่ งยืน อีกทั้ งยังเป็นการอนุรักษ์ผ้าทอพื้นเมืองอันทรงคุณค่าไว้ ไม่ให้เลือนหายไปท่ามกลางกระแสโลกาภิวัตน์ สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา ทรงตระหนักถึงภูมิปัญญาพื้นถิ่ นอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของชาติ เสด็จไปทรงเยี่ยม และให้ก� ำลังใจกลุ่มทอผ้าในภูมิภาคต่างๆ อย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ งในช่วงวิกฤติที่มีการแพร่ระบาดของโควิด-19 การเสด็จของพระองค์ ท� ำให้ประชาชนเกิดความซาบซึ้งใจว่า สถาบันหลักของชาติมีความห่วงใยและพร้อมที่จะช่วยเหลือบ� ำบัดทุกข์ของประชาชนในระยะยาว การเสด็จในภูมิภาคต่างๆ นี้ ท� ำให้ภูมิปัญญาการถักทอผืนผ้าด้วยมือได้รับความสนใจ ดังเช่นการพระราชทานผ้าลายพระราชทานลายต่างๆ มีการจัดการประกวด การตัดสิน และการจ� ำหน่ายผืนผ้า สร้างรายได้ให้เศรษฐกิจท้องถิ่ นเกิดการหมุนเวียนแม้ในช่วงวิกฤติ การที่เสด็จเยี่ยมและให้ก� ำลังใจชุมชนทอผ้าทุกภูมิภาคทั่ วประเทศ ด้วยเหตุใดจึงเริมที่จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช ่ “เมื่อครั้ งที่ไปเยี่ยมศูนย์ส่งเสริมศิลปาชีพระหว่างประเทศ อ� ำเภอบางไทร จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา ได้ชมนิทรรศการเกี่ยวกับผ้าไทย ท่านหญิงมีความสนใจผ้าที่มาจากภาคใต้ เพราะบางลวดลายมีความคล้ายกับผ้าของภาคเหนือ จึงเก็บความสงสัยเรื่องที่มาของลายผ้ามาตลอด จึงอยากจะไปศึกษา อยากจะไปชมสถานที่ที่เป็นต้นก� ำเนิดของผ้าเหล่านั้น และเมื่อมีโอกาสได้ไปท� ำบุญทางภาคใต้ จึงมีโอกาสได้ทราบ ข้อมูลของผ้าพื้นถิ่ น จึงเป็นที่มาของแนวคิดที่จะสืบสานต่อยอดแนวพระด� ำริขึ้นมา” พระองค์ไม่เพียงทรงสนับสนุนให้แต่ละชุมชนสืบสานการทอผ้าพื้นถิ่น แต่ยังพระราชทานแนวพระด� ำริในการต่อยอดงานผ้าไทย ให้มีตลาดที่กว้างขึนด้วย้ “อุตสาหกรรมแฟชั่นมีตลาดที่กว้างขวางมาก มีหลายระดับ เช่น แฟชั่นลักชัวรีและของตกแต่งบ้าน ผ้าไทยของเรามีศักยภาพที่จะน� ำไปใช้ กับตลาดนั้นได้ ไม่อยากให้เข้าใจว่าผ้าไทยน� ำไปออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์แฟชั่นได้เพียงอย่างเดียว” การทรงงาน “ผ้าไทย” พระองค์ได้รับค� ำแนะน� ำจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านผ้าไทยและนักออกแบบหลากหลายสาขา ทรงน� ำมาปรับใช้กับการทรงงาน เพื่อให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุดแก่ประชาชน “ขอขอบคุณทุกท่านเป็นอย่างยิ่ ง ที่เปิดใจรับฟังและถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์ซึ่งกันและกัน ท� ำให้ทราบว่าทุกคนมีก� ำลังใจที่จะสร้างสรรค์ ผลงานที่ดี บางทีก็อยากทราบว่าเรามองไปในทางเดียวกันหรือไม่ ความคิดเห็นต่อของชิ้ นนี้เป็นอย่างไร ถ้าคุณเห็นดีเห็นงามเช่นกัน แสดงว่าเรามองไปในทิศทางเดียวกัน”   

ความประทับใจในผ้าไทยของพระองค์ ก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์อย่างมากมายในด้านการสร้างงาน สร้างอาชีพให้กับประชาชน “ช่วงก่อนที่จะไปศึกษาต่อต่างประเทศ มีความตั้ งใจว่าเราอยากจะกลับมาท� ำงานทางด้านผ้าไทย เพราะเห็นมาตั้ งแต่เด็ก รู้สึกว่ามหัศจรรย์มาก มีความประทับใจในความสวยงาม ท� ำให้อยากเรียนรู้ในเรื่องนี้ สมเด็จย่าท่านทรงเป็นไอดอลของท่านหญิง ก่อนที่จะไปศึกษาต่อที่ปารีส ก็ได้กราบบังคมทูลลา ท่านบอกว่า อย่าลืมรักษาความเป็นไทย โดยเฉพาะเรื่องของแนวคิดและรูปแบบที่เราจะน� ำไปผสมผสานกับความเป็น ตะวันตกได้อย่างชัดเจน จึงตั้ งปณิธานว่า ถ้าจะช่วยเหลือประชาชนและก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์แก่ประเทศชาติ ก็ควรเป็นสาขาวิชาชีพที่ ร่� ำเรียนมา” เมื่อครังเสด็จหมู่บ้านดอนกอย จังหวัดสกลนคร ที่มีผ้าทอย้อมครามงดงามเป็นที่เลื่องลือ มีรับสั ้ ่ งว่าควรรักษาภูมิปัญญาพื้นถิ่นที่เป็นมรดก ทางวัฒนธรรมนี้ไว้ และพระองค์ทรงเน้น ย้ ำ�ถึงเรื่องของความยั่ งยืนในการถักทอผืนผ้า ซึงเป็นสิ ่ งที่อุตสาหกรรมแฟชั ่ ่นโลกได้ตระหนักถึง การสร้างสรรค์ผืนผ้าที่ไม่ท� ำลายสิงแวดล้อม นอกจากนี้ยังทรงเน้นว่า ผ้าไทยสามารถน� ่ ำไปสร้างผลิตภัณฑ์ได้หลายหลาก เพื่อจะได้ เปิดตลาดผ้าไทยให้กว้างขวางยิงขึ่ น้ “ชุมชนบ้านดอนกอยมีความเชี่ยวชาญด้านการทอผ้าครามที่มีคุณภาพ ต้องมาคิดว่าจะต่อยอดอย่างไรให้มีมูลค่าเพิ่ มและจ� ำหน่าย ให้ได้มากขึ้น สิ่ งส� ำคัญคือคุณภาพของผลิตภัณฑ์ ต้องเปิดโลกทัศน์ให้ชุมชนเข้าใจว่าผ้าทอมือไม่ได้น� ำไปใช้เพียงอุตสาหกรรมแฟชั่น แต่น� ำไป ออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์อื่นๆ ได้อีกมาก ในครั้ งนั้นตั้ งใจมาดูวิถีชาวบ้านและมาดูว่าตลาดเป็นอย่างไร พวกเขามีการพัฒนาความคิดสร้างสรรค์ อย่างไรบ้าง รวมถึงให้ก� ำลังใจพวกเขาด้วย อยากให้พวกเขาเก็บภูมิปัญญาดั้ งเดิมไว้ โดยน� ำความร่วมสมัยเข้ามาผสมผสาน” นอกจากการเสด็จมาทอดพระเนตรความก้าวหน้าของงานที่ดอนกอยแล้ว พระองค์ยังได้พระราชทานแนวทางพระด� ำริที่เป็นประโยชน์ และสร้างเอกลักษณ์กับผ้าย้อมคราม “ได้ให้ค� ำแนะน� ำเรื่องการย้อมครามให้มีหลายเฉดสี เรื่องการผสมสี เรื่องของเส้นใย นั่นคือสิ่ งส� ำคัญ ส่วนเรื่องลวดลายควรมีขนาดใหญ่เล็ก มีจังหวะการจัดวางลายที่เหมาะสม เรื่องพวกนี้ต้องอธิบายให้เขาฟัง เพราะว่าเขาท� ำทุกวันอาจจะท�ำซ้�ำๆ ตามความเคยชิน ถ้าเราบอกเขาไปว่า อันนี้สวย อันนี้ลายใหญ่ทั้ งผืนจะสวยมาก ก็จะมีผลงานที่พัฒนาต่อยอดไปจากเดิม บางครั้ งมีพื้นที่ระหว่างเชิงผ้ากับการต่อลาย อันนี้ก็ต้องมา พัฒนาต่อ เพราะท่านหญิงทราบดีว่าผู้บริโภคจะน� ำผ้าเหล่านี้ไปท� ำอะไร ลวดลายจึงต้องออกแบบให้ตรงกับความต้องการของตลาด ส� ำหรับ ชุมชนนั้น นอกจากจะทอผ้าขายแล้ว จะต่อยอดอย่างไรในการขายของชุมชน จึงมีการแนะน� ำให้น� ำผืนผ้ามาพัฒนาเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์อื่นๆ ด้วย” การเสด็จเยือนบ้านดอนกอยในครังนั้ ้น พระองค์ยังได้ทรงฟ้อนร�ำกับชาวบ้านที่มาเฝ้ารับเสด็จ เป็นภาพอันน่าประทับใจที่ได้เผยแพร่ ไปในสื่อต่างๆ สร้างความปลื้มปีติให้เหล่าประชาชน ในการไม่ถือพระองค์ ทรงให้ความเป็นกันเองกับผู้ที่มารอเฝ้ารับเสด็จ เป็นภาพที่ เมื่อใครได้เห็นก็รู้สึกปีติและอบอุ่นในหัวใจ “ท่านหญิงดีใจมากที่ได้ร� ำกับชาวบ้าน ทุกคนสวมชุดพื้นถิ่ น ดีใจมากที่เห็นเด็กๆ สวมใส่ผ้าคราม มีทั้ งผ้าย้อมโคลน และเป็นเสื้อคอกลมกับ กางเกงขาสั้นย้อมคราม เปรียบเสมือนชุดพละของท้องถิ่ นนี้ เป็นอะไรที่น่ารัก มีความเป็นชนบทที่มีความพอเพียง เป็นชีวิตที่จริงแท้” เมื่อครังสมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา เสด็จไปทอดพระเนตรงานผลิตภัณฑ์ท้องถิ ้ ่นภาคใต้ ณ อาคารหอประชุมเฉลิมพระเกียรติ มหาวิทยาลัยนราธิวาสราชนครินทร์ จังหวัดนราธิวาส หนึ่งในผู้ที่เข้ามาเฝ้ารับเสด็จคือ ว่าที่ร้อยโท ดิลก ศิริวัลลภ ชาวนราธิวาส ผู้เคยถวายงานล่ามภาษามลายูเมื่อครังพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดช ้ มหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง เสด็จฯ ไปทรงเยี่ยมราษฎร ์ ในจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ และคุณดิลกได้ถวายงานอย่างต่อเนื่องแม้เมื่อครังพระองค์หญิงตามเสด็จสมเด็จย่ามาทรงงานที่จังหวัดนราธิวาส ้   พระองค์หญิง : “ตอนนั้นท่านหญิงอยู่กับคุณดิลกก็เป็นเด็กซนๆ นะ” คุณดิลก : “ก็น่ารักดีพ่ะย่ะค่ะ” อยากให้คุณดิลกช่วยเล่าให้ฟังเรื่องถวายงานสมเด็จย่า จนถึงมาถวายงานให้พระองค์หญิง คุณดิลก : “ตั้ งแต่ พ.ศ. 2516 พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 9 เสด็จประทับที่จังหวัดนราธิวาส พระองค์ท่านทรงรื้อฟื้ นโครงการใน พระราชด� ำริ จ� ำได้ว่าเกี่ยวกับการศึกษา เพื่อให้ชาวบ้านพูดภาษาไทยได้ สามารถสื่อสารให้เข้าใจกันและกัน เป็นจุดก� ำเนิดศูนย์อ� ำนวยการบริหาร จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ขึ้นเป็นแห่งแรกและแห่งเดียวในประเทศไทย เพื่อบูรณาการเกี่ยวกับการศึกษา ศาสนา ประเพณี วัฒนธรรม ที่เป็น ปัญหาดั้ งเดิมของที่นี่” คุณดิลกทูลถวาย พระองค์หญิง : “ตอนนั้นท่านหญิงตามเสด็จสมเด็จย่ามา ท่านมีโครงการปักผ้า ทอผ้า แล้วยังมีการเกษตรด้วย คุณดิลกจ� ำได้ใช่ไหม” คุณดิลก : “จ� ำได้พ่ะย่ะค่ะ ผู้หญิงที่นี่มีข้อจ� ำกัดด้านการศึกษา ไม่มีอาชีพ เป็นแม่บ้านโดยส่วนใหญ่ พอมีงานศิลปาชีพและโครงการของ พระเจ้าอยู่หัวเกิดขึน ท�้ ำให้คนหนุ่มสาว คนพิการ ก็มีงานท� ำ มีอาชีพท� ำ มีรายได้ ท� ำให้ชีวิตมีคุณค่า ค่าของความเป็นคนก็เลยเกิดขึนมา โดยเฉพาะ้ ช่วงที่โควิด-19 เข้ามา ศิลปาชีพท� ำอยู่ที่บ้าน ไม่ได้เดือดร้อนกับใคร ใครขยันมากได้มาก ใครท� ำสวยมาก ราคาก็สูงมาก สมเด็จย่าทรงมอบ ศูนย์ศิลปาชีพฯ ให้ข้าพเจ้าดูแลโดยตรง มี 6 อย่างคือ ผลิตภัณฑ์ลิเภา ผลิตภัณฑ์ใบชิว ผลิตภัณฑ์ปาหนัน ผลิตภัณฑ์ใบลาน ผลิตภัณฑ์เรือกอและ จ� ำลอง แล้วก็สวนยางแห่งชาติ” พระองค์หญิง : “เราก็ต้องท� ำเหมือนเดิม ต้องท� ำให้มันไปได้ไกลขึ้น” คุณดิลก : “ท� ำให้นราธิวาสฟื้ นคืนชีวิตขึ้นมา ผู้คนก็จะมีชีวิตชีวา มีความรู้สึกว่ารักประเทศไทย รักพระเจ้าอยู่หัว”

27 ภารกิจในการสืบสานพระราชปณิธานอันยิ่ งใหญ่ใน สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ของสมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา คือการช่วยเหลือประชาชนชาวไทย โดยพระองค์มีแนวพระด�ำริดังนี้ 1) ทรงกระตุ้นพัฒนาฝีมือจากภูมิปัญญาของช่างทอผ้าที่มีอยู่เดิม ให้มีความเป็นเลิศและดีเด่น เป็นสุดยอดผ้าไทย ด้วยการจัดการประกวด ผ้าลายพระราชทานลายต่างๆ 2) ทรงน�ำอุปสงค์ความต้องการสวมใส่ผ้าไทย (Demand) มากระตุ้น ในส่วนของอุปทาน (Supply) ได้พระราชทาน แนวพระด�ำริ “โครงการผ้าไทยใส่ให้สนุก” ที่ขับเคลื่อนและขยายผลโดย กระทรวงมหาดไทย ให้คนทุกเพศทุกวัยสามารถสวมใส่ได้ในทุกโอกาส ด้วยแนวพระด�ำริว่า ทุกเพศทุกวัยจะสวมใส่ได้ควรมีการออกแบบที่ดีมากระตุ้นให้ช่างทอผ้าได้เรียนรู้ว่า “ความต้องการจะเพิ่ มขึ้น ถ้าทอผ้า ตัดชุดได้ตรงกับความต้องการ” โดยน�ำผืนผ้าดั้ งเดิมของบรรพบุรุษที่มีความสวยงาม มาดัดแปลงให้มีความร่วมสมัย สอดคล้องกับความต้องการ ของตลาด เช่น ย่อลายให้เล็กลง ผสมผสานลวดลาย และประการส�ำคัญ 3) พระราชทานแนวทางการใช้สีเอิร์ธโทน ซึ่งสามารถใช้งานได้อย่าง อเนกประสงค์ สง่างาม และทันสมัย โดยมีพระวิริยอุตสาหะในการศึกษาค้นคว้า และได้จัดพิมพ์เป็น “หนังสือ Thai Textiles Trend Book” ด�ำเนินงานโดย กรมส่งเสริมวัฒนธรรม กระทรวงวัฒนธรรม 4) ทรงตระหนักถึง “ความยั่ งยืน” ของโลกใบเดียวนี้ ให้มีการรักษาสิ่ งแวดล้อมที่ดี ทรงสนับสนุนและส่งเสริมการย้อมผ้าด้วยสีธรรมชาติ ลดการใช้สีเคมี ปลูกพืชพรรณที่ให้สีย้อมธรรมชาติ ปลูกฝ้าย ปลูกหม่อนเลี้ยงไหมในชุมชน เพื่อให้เกิดการถักทอผืนผ้าและผลิตภัณฑ์ที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่ งแวดล้อม ไม่มีพิษต่อน้ � ำ พิษต่อดิน พิษต่อมือ พิษต่อผู้สวมใส่ เพราะสิ่ งใดที่เป็นเคมี จะปะปนแปลกปลอมไปด้วยสารพิษที่เป็นพิษต่อร่างกายและโลกใบนี้ทั้ งสิ้ น สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา ทรงให้ความส�ำคัญถึงรายละเอียดต่างๆ ที่ประกอบขึ้นมาเป็นผ้าผืนงาม อาทิ การย้อมเส้นใยที่จะน�ำมาทอ การย้อมสีเส้นด้ายที่ใช้สีย้อมธรรมชาติจากภูมิปัญญาของบรรพบุรุษที่สั่ งสมกันมา รวมถึงการย้อมคราม การเขียน ลายบาติก ทุกแขนงล้วนเป็นสิ่ งที่พระองค์มีพระประสงค์ที่จะสืบสานให้เป็นมรดกของชาติ เมื่อครั้ งที่พระองค์เสด็จไปทรงเยี่ยมกลุ่มทอผ้า ย้อมครามบ้านดอนกอย อ�ำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร พระองค์ทรงร่วมทอผ้าและทรงปั่นด้าย พร้อมมีพระปฏิสันถารกับช่างย้อมทอผ้า ย้อมคราม สร้างขวัญก�ำลังใจแก่กลุ่มทอผ้าย้อมครามบ้านดอนกอยเป็นอย่างมาก ท�ำให้ผลิตภัณฑ์ผ้าย้อมครามที่เกิดจากภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่ น ของชาวภูไทเป็นที่รู้จักอย่างแพร่หลาย การย้อมครามเป็นภูมิปัญญาที่แต่ละท้องถิ่ นมีวิธีการและเอกลักษณ์ที่ต่างกันไป จึงจ�ำเป็นต้องมีการ สืบสานไว้มิให้สูญหาย เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จไปพระราชทานขวัญและก�ำลังใจแก่กลุ่มชุมชนผลิตภัณฑ์ท้องถิน ในงาน “สืบสาน อนุรักษ์ศิลป์ผ้าถิ ่ นไทย ด� ่ำรงไว้ในแผ่นดิน” ของภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ตามโครงการยกระดับผลิตภัณฑ์ภูมิปัญญา OTOP ที่กรมการพัฒนาชุมชน กระทรวงมหาดไทย ร่วมกับ สมาคมแม่บ้านมหาดไทย จัดขึ้นที่ หอประชุมจามจุรี มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏสกลนคร จังหวัดสกลนคร มีการจัดแสดงผลงานจากแต่ละชุมชน อาทิ ผ้าทอของชาวไทด�ำ ผ้าทอไหมแพรวาบ้านโพน จังหวัดกาฬสินธุ์ และผ้าทอจากกลุ่มทอผ้าย้อมสีธรรมชาติหนองบัวแดง จังหวัดชัยภูมิ พระองค์มีพระวินิจฉัยแนวทางการพัฒนาลวดลาย พร้อมพระราชทานแนวทางพระด�ำริ ในการต่อยอดพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ผ้าทอให้มีความร่วมสมัย จากการทรงงานของ สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา เกี่ยวกับผ้าไทย ท�ำให้สร้างความตื่นตัวอย่างเห็นได้ชัด เกิดการสร้างงาน สร้างอาชีพให้กับประชาชน อีกทั้ งยังสร้างความตื่นตัวในการสร้างสรรค์ผ้าไทยในวงการต่างๆ รวมทั้ งการพัฒนาผืนผ้าและ ผลิตภัณฑ์จากผ้าทอมือแนวทางใหม่ๆ เข้าสู่ตลาดอย่างต่อเนื่อง เห็นได้จากงานแสดงผลิตภัณฑ์จากชุมชนทอผ้า จะได้รับความสนใจเป็น อย่างมาก ด้วยคุณภาพของผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ได้รับการพัฒนาให้เหมาะสมกับยุคสมัย พัฒนาการออกแบบลวดลายที่เป็นที่ชื่นชอบ รวมทั้ งโครงสี ของผ้าที่อ้างอิงจาก หนังสือ Thai Textiles Trend Book ที่พระองค์ทรงรับหน้าที่เป็นองค์บรรณาธิการบริหาร น�ำเสนอแนวทางของเฉดสี ในแต่ละช่วงฤดูกาลแฟชั่น ซึ่งมีการน�ำเสนออย่างต่อเนื่องและเป็นประโยชน์แก่วงการผ้าไทย วงการดีไซน์ และอุตสาหกรรมแฟชั่นอย่างสูงสุด “หนังสือ Thai Textiles Trend Book Spring/Summer 2022” คือปฐมบทแห่งยุคผสมผสานใหม่ ที่รวบรวมข้อมูลของผ้าไทยและความพิเศษ ในการเทียบสีเทรนด์แฟชั่นโลกเข้ากับสีไทยโทน อันเป็นเอกลักษณ์จากภูมิปัญญาไทยที่ยากจะลอกเลียน ด้วยการสนับสนุนให้เกิดการย้อมสีผ้า จากสีย้อมธรรมชาติทั้ ง 6 เฉดสี ตามสีของแฟชั่นซีซั่นสปริง/ซัมเมอร์ ปี 2022 มาไว้ในเล่มเดียว สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา เสด็จไปทรงเป็นประธานในงานเปิดตัวหนังสือและงานเสวนาวิชาการหัวข้อ “การส่งเสริมและพัฒนาภาพลักษณ์ ผ้าไทยสู่สากล” เพื่อยกระดับและแบ่งปันองค์ความรู้แก่วงการผ้าไทย ภายในงานยังมีการจัดแสดงนิทรรศการ “แนวโน้มและทิศทางผ้าไทย และการออกแบบเครื่องแต่งกายด้วยผ้าไทย” พร้อมด้วยผลงานการออกแบบเสื้อผ้าจากผ้าไทยจาก 12 นักออกแบบแถวหน้าระดับประเทศ

28 พระองค์ทรงพระนิพนธ์ค� ำน� ำไว้ในหนังสือเล่มนี้ว่า “กรมส่งเสริมวัฒนธรรม กระทรวงวัฒนธรรม และทีมที่ปรึกษาของข้าพเจ้า ได้รวบรวม ข้อมูลเชิงลึก และท� ำการศึกษาค้นคว้าวิจัยเพื่อจัดท� ำหนังสือเล่มนี้ขึ้น ท� ำให้หนังสือ Thai Textiles Trend Book Spring/Summer 2022 สามารถใช้งานได้จริง ข้าพเจ้าได้น� ำประสบการณ์ด้านแฟชั่น ทั้ งจากการที่ได้ไปเรียนและศึกษาดูงานในต่างประเทศ การลงมือปฏิบัติจริง การที่ได้มีโอกาสเข้าไปเป็นอาจารย์พิเศษตามมหาวิทยาลัยต่างๆ และได้ลงพื้นที่ในต่างจังหวัดหลายจังหวัด ท� ำให้เห็นมิติอันหลากหลาย รวมทั้ งความรู้ความสามารถที่มี มอบไว้กับหนังสือเล่มนี้ เพื่อให้เกิดประโยชน์แก่เหล่านักเรียน นักศึกษา อาจารย์ ผู้ประกอบการ ศิลปิน ช่างทอผ้า และผู้ที่อยากเป็นนักออกแบบในทุกสาขาทั่ วทุกภูมิภาค เพื่อรักษาสมบัติทางวัฒนธรรมของชาติที่ พระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทูลกระหม่อมปู่ และสมเด็จย่าของข้าพเจ้า ได้พระราชทานค� ำแนะน� ำและสอนข้าพเจ้าเสมอมา ในเรื่องการสร้างอาชีพให้แก่ราษฎร ซึ่งจะน� ำไปสู่ความยั่ งยืน ท� ำให้ราษฎรมีอาชีพเลี้ยงตัวเองและครอบครัวได้” สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา ยังทรงเป็นองค์ประธานการเสวนาวิชาการในงานเปิดตัวหนังสือนี้เสมอ เพื่อให้ ผู้สนใจเข้าใจถึงวัตถุประสงค์และประโยชน์จากหนังสือเทรนด์บุ๊กนี้ อย่างในการเปิดตัวหนังสือ Thai Textiles Trend Book Autumn/Winter 2022-2023 (เล่มที่ 2 หนังสือเทรนด์บุ๊ก) ทรงเป็นองค์ประธานในงานเสวนาวิชาการ เรื่อง “การส่งเสริมและพัฒนาภาพลักษณ์ผ้าไทยสู่สากล” โดยทรงบรรยายไว้ช่วงหนึ่งว่า “หนังสือเล่มแรกประสบความส� ำเร็จมาก ในแง่ของผลการตอบรับและผลงาน เห็นการเริ่ มต้นพัฒนาเรื่องสีและองค์ความรู้อย่างชัดเจน รู้สึก ภูมิใจมากที่มีหนังสือวิชาการด้านแฟชั่นที่จริงจัง สีสวย ครบรส และใช้งานสะดวก ความส� ำคัญของออทั่ม/วินเทอร์ในประเทศไทย แท้จริงแล้ว โลกของเรามีค� ำว่า “ซีซันนอล” โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ ่ งโลกของอุตสาหกรรมแฟชั ่ น เมืองไทยเราก็มีฤดูหนาว แต่ไม่เทียบเท่าสมัยก่อน ปัจจุบันคนไทย ่ เดินทางไปต่างประเทศ เท่ากับว่าเรามีฤดูกาลและโอกาสสวมใส่ และหนังสือเล่มแรกมีการแนะน� ำลวดลายการทอของแต่ละจังหวัด “ปีนี้อยากพัฒนาโดยหน้าแรกจะพูดถึงผ้าคราม ถ้าอ่านตามต� ำราฝรั่ ง ดูในแผนที่โลกจะเห็นว่ามีอยู่ทุกที่และเป็นการย้อมเย็น มัดย้อม อาทิ อเมริกา อินเดีย ญี่ปุ่น โดยมีเฉดสีคล้ายกับของไทย แต่อาจจะมีความแตกต่างกันไปบ้าง ด้วยสภาพดิน แสงแดด การหมัก มัดย้อม ไม่เหมือนกัน ส� ำหรับในประเทศไทย หัวใจหลักอยู่ทางภาคอีสาน จังหวัดสกลนคร ไล่มาจะมีที่ภาคเหนือและภาคกลางบ้าง การย้อมครามเป็นการย้อมสี ธรรมชาติ ทั่ วโลกของเราก� ำลังเน้นความยั่ งยืนและอัพไซคลิ่ ง หรือการใช้สีธรรมชาติมากยิ่ งขึ้น สีของอินดิโกมีอยู่ทุกที่ “คราม” เป็นสีตั้ งต้น ของสีที่ผสมกับเฉดสีอื่น เพื่อออกมาเป็นสีใหม่ โดยเอาสีไทยโทนมาเทียบ เล่มแรกมีการแนะน� ำเทคนิค 6 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ ยกดอก ขิด จก ปัก มัดหมี่ เกาะหรือล้วง มาเล่มนี้ได้เพิ่ ม 2 เทคนิคซึ่งเหมาะต่อฤดูหนาว คือ “แพตช์เวิร์ก” และ “ด้น” ซึ่งแพตช์เวิร์กหาได้ตามงานของชาวไทยภูเขา แถบภาคเหนือ เทคนิคการด้น จะเป็นผ้านวม เทรนด์บุ๊กเล่มนี้จึงเลยค� ำว่าอุตสาหกรรมแฟชันไปแล้ว แต่ยังรวมถึงของแต่งบ้าน ออกแบบภายใน ่ สถาปัตยกรรม ช่างฝีมือต่างๆ รวมถึงครูบาอาจารย์ เล่มนี้คือสมบัติของชาติ คือต� ำราเรียนโดยที่ไม่ต้องเสียเงินให้กับฝรั่ ง นอกจากนี้ยังเขียนด้วย ภาษาที่อ่านแล้วเข้าใจง่าย” นอกจากนี้ยังทรงเห็นถึงสภาวะของโลกในปัจจุบันที่วงการสิงทอควรตระหนัก โดยทรงกล่าวถึงความยั ่ ่ งยืนในวงการแฟชั่น “เล่มก่อนหน้านี้ประสบความส� ำเร็จมากในแง่ของผลตอบรับ อุตสาหกรรมสิงทอเกิดความกระปรี้กระเปร่าในการผลิต เกิดกระแสและพลังงาน ่ ที่ดีในการออกแบบ ถือเป็นการเริมต้นพัฒนา ทั ่ ้ งเรื่องสีและองค์ความรู้ใหม่ๆ รู้สึกปลาบปลื้มที่เรามีหนังสือด้านแฟชันอย่างจริงจังเสียที ในการน� ่ ำ ไปใช้ท� ำการเรียนการสอน หรือใช้ประกอบอาชีพ “อย่างไรก็ตาม อุตสาหกรรมสิ่ งทอเป็นสิ่ งที่ก่อให้เกิดภาวะโลกร้อน เล่มนี้สอนเรื่องการลดใช้ทรัพยากร หรือใช้แล้วต้องปลูกทดแทน ใช้วัสดุ ที่คุ้นเคยอย่างคุ้มค่าที่สุด เพื่อลดการเกิดของเสีย ซึ่งภูมิปัญญาไทยเรื่องการย้อมผ้าด้วยสีธรรมชาติจากวัสดุที่มาจากธรรมชาติช่วยแก้ปัญหาได้ แต่ต้องท� ำอย่างจริงจัง หวังว่าจะเป็นหนังสือที่อ่านแล้วเพลิดเพลินและเป็นประโยชน์กับอุตสาหกรรมสิ่ งทอ แฟชั่นและดีไซน์ ก่อนจะมีเทรนด์บุ๊ก เล่มต่อๆ ไป”

ส� ำหรับหนังสือ Thai Textiles Trend Book Spring/Summer 2023 เล่มล่าสุด (เล่มที่ 3) น� ำเสนอแนวคิด “วัฒนธรรมอันเคลื่อนคล้อย” (Moving Culture) น� ำเสนอเรื่องราวของการเคลื่อนที่ทางวัฒนธรรม และการแลกเปลี่ยนเอกลักษณ์ของแต่ละถิ่ นฐานบนผืนผ้า ซึงได้แรงบันดาลใจ ่ จากบรรยากาศฤดูร้อนของไทย โดยท� ำการศึกษาควบคู่ไปกับงานภูมิปัญญาและงานหัตถศิลป์ สะท้อนแนวคิดผ้าไทยหลายประเภทที่มีที่มาจาก วัฒนธรรมอื่นๆ ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงธรรมชาติของวัฒนธรรมที่ไม่ตายตัว แต่มีการปรับตัวและแลกเปลี่ยนของอัตลักษณ์ประจ� ำถิ่ นเกิดขึ้นอย่างช้าๆ และต่อเนื่อง โดยในการบรรยาย สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา ได้ทรงกล่าวถึงการทรงงานที่มาเป็นหนังสือ Thai Textiles Trend Book ว่า “เราเป็นคนแอ๊กชั่น แต่ไม่ค่อยพูด รูปเหล่านี้คือการบอกตัวเราที่ท� ำงานนะ ไม่ว่าอยู่ที่บ้าน ท� ำงานต่างประเทศ ซึ่งที่ชอบมากคือท� ำงาน ด้วยมือ ถ่ายรูป จดบันทึก นี่คือที่มาและแรงบันดาลใจของท่านหญิงที่อยากพระราชทานแก่คนท� ำงานสายอาชีพนี้ ความขยันของเราสามารถ เป็นตัวอย่างที่ดีให้คนอื่นได้ ขอบคุณค่ะ” และทรงกล่าวถึงความคาดหวังที่หนังสือเล่มนี้จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อคนทั้ งหลาย “ท่านหญิงอยากเห็นน้องๆ รุ่นใหม่ชาเลนจ์ตัวเอง เอาผ้าขาวม้ามาท� ำเครื่องประดับ หรือของใช้ในบ้าน ว่าจะท� ำได้ขนาดไหน” นอกจากนั้นในหนังสือเล่มนี้ยังมีเนื้อหาที่ทรงอยากแนะน� ำให้คนทั่ วไปได้รู้จัก ซึงสิ่ งนี้จะมีอยู่ใน Thai Textiles Trend Book ทุกเล่มอยู่แล้ว ่ ไม่ใช่แค่เรื่องสีโทนไทยที่เสมือนหัวใจหลักของเล่ม “อยากแนะน� ำผ้าบาติก ผ้าขาวม้า ผ้าหางกระรอก ผ้าพิมพ์ลายธรรมชาติ โดยมีวัสดุแห่งฤดูกาล อย่างผ้าฝ้ายเข็นมือเส้นเล็ก ไหมน้อย ใยกัญชง เส้นใยรีไซเคิล ส� ำหรับเส้นใยรีไซเคิลเป็นเทรนด์ที่ก� ำลังเป็นแฟชั่นระดับโลก คนเริ่ มใช้ในชีวิตประจ� ำวันมากขึ้น เคยไปสัมผัสผ้าที่ท� ำมาจาก เส้นใยรีไซเคิลที่อิตาลี ผิวสัมผัสนุ่ม สาก กระด้างหน่อยๆ ด้วยวิธีการทอแน่นก� ำลังดี ส่วนในไทยเป็นเรื่องใหม่ ต้องใช้เวลาพัฒนา แต่คิดว่าท� ำได้ อยากให้ลองท� ำดู” ส่วน 5 เทรนด์สี ที่เลือกมาให้ แต่ละสีสามารถเชื่อมกันได้หมด เป็นสีที่มีชื่อ สามารถน� ำไปออกแบบสีผ้าได้ ก็ขอให้ทุกคนค้นคว้า หัดสังเกตการใช้สีของแต่ละสถานที่ต่างๆ สีจากวัตถุ สีจากธรรมชาติ” ทั้ งนี้ทรงกล่าวถึง Thai Textiles Trend Book ทั้ งหมดที่ได้จัดท� ำมาว่า “เทรนด์บุ๊กเล่มที่ 1 และ 2 ยังใช้ได้ เล่ม 3 ก็ใช้ได้ ทุกอันย่อยมาให้หมดแล้ว ท่านหญิงอยากให้ทุกคนเข้าใจว่าหนังสือเล่มนี้เมดอินไทยแลนด์ ใช้ได้กับนักเรียนนักศึกษา เป็นต� ำราเรียนที่ใช้ได้เท่าเทียมกัน ต� ำราไทยที่เทียบเท่าต� ำราฝรั่ งที่ราคาสูงเหลือเกิน ทุกคนสามารถใช้อ้างอิงในการ ท� ำงานของทุกท่าน ขอให้ใช้ให้ถูก เมื่อใช้ให้ถูกจะไปได้ดี ขอให้ท� ำความเข้าใจ “ท่านหญิงเชื่อเหลือเกินว่าจะเป็นองค์ความรู้ที่ผู้ประกอบการรอคอย จะสร้างรายได้เป็นกอบเป็นก� ำ พวกเราที่เป็นนักวิชาการ จะย่อยให้ ทุกคนได้ต่อยอดต่อไป ครูอาจารย์ต้องสอนและให้โอกาสเด็กได้อ่านและท� ำ หนังสือเล่มนี้ต้องลงมือท� ำ เชื่อเหลือเกินว่าอาชีพนี้จะท� ำให้ประเทศไทย เจริญด้วยมือของเรา ขอฝากหนังสือเล่มนี้และใช้ให้มีประโยชน์ที่สุด” ล่าสุดได้มีการติดตามพัฒนาการของโครงการ “ดอนกอยโมเดล” ที่ขับเคลื่อนโดย กรมการพัฒนาชุมชน กระทรวงมหาดไทย เป็นโครงการกลุ่มผ้าทอต้นแบบของ อ� ำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร ตามแนวทางพระด� ำริ “ผ้าไทยใส่ให้สนุก” ในสมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา มุ่งมั่นพัฒนาคุณภาพผ้าของชุมชนบ้านดอนกอยไปสู่การเป็นชุมชนต้นแบบของประเทศ นับตั้ งแต่ปี 2563 ที่พระองค์เสด็จไปทอดพระเนตรขั้นตอนการผลิตผ้าย้อมคราม ที่เกิดจากภูมิปัญญาพื้นถิ่ นของชาวภูไท ใช้เวลาในการพัฒนาไม่ถึง 2 ปี ปัจจุบัน ผลิตภัณฑ์ผ้าย้อมครามจากดอนกอยเกิดลวดลายใหม่ๆ ดีไซน์ทันสมัย อ้างอิงเฉดสีตามเทรนด์แฟชั่น สร้างรายได้ให้กับชุมชนไม่ ต่� ำกว่า 10,000 บาทต่อคนต่อเดือน ต่อยอดสู่การเป็นโครงการต้นแบบที่ยั่ งยืน ด้วยการก่อตั้ งศูนย์เรียนรู้ “วิชชาลัยดอนกอย วิถีแห่งการพัฒนาที่ยั่ งยืน” “นาหว้าโมเดล” เป็นโครงการตามแนวพระด� ำริ ในโอกาสครบ 50 ปี โครงการศิลปาชีพฯ ในสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระองค์ทรงส่งเสริมภูมิปัญญา ฟื้ นฟู และพัฒนาลายผ้าจากชุมชนต้นแบบทอผ้าที่มีฝีมือในการทอผ้าลายโบราณให้เห็นเป็นที่ประจักษ์ พระองค์ได้ ทรงพัฒนาชุมชนต้นแบบบ้านนาหว้า อ� ำเภอนาหว้า จังหวัดนครพนม ด้วยแรงบันดาลพระทัยที่มุ่งมั่น ท� ำให้ผ้าไทยจัดเป็นมรดกที่ ล้� ำค่าของชาติ กรมการพัฒนาชุมชน กระทรวงมหาดไทย น้อมน� ำแนวทางพระด� ำริใน สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา ไปสร้างสรรค์ โครงการต้นแบบที่สร้างประโยชน์แก่ชุมชน โดยได้มีการฟื้ นฟูการปลูกหม่อนเลี้ยงไหม เพื่อให้ช่างทอผ้าสามารถน� ำเส้นใยจากหนอนไหมไปผลิต ผืนผ้าได้ทุกเมื่อตามต้องการ โดยลดปัญหาการขาดแคลนทรัพยากรเส้นใย พึ่งพาตนเองในด้านการสร้างสรรค์ผืนผ้าตั้ งแต่ต้น น้�ำสู่ปลาย น้�ำ ได้อย่างยั่ งยืน

30 HRH Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya has taken on a new responsibility by continuing Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s legacy in promoting Thai textiles through The SUPPORT Foundation which has immeasurably benefited Thai people for decades. With her fresh vision and talent, the Princess has initiated the “Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanook” project, using local arts and crafts to generate income for communities as well as modernising Thai textiles with the use of contemporary materials fitting all genders, ages and occasions. The SUPPORT Foundation has always been one of The Queen Mother’s most celebrated initiatives. Benefiting a great number of Thais since its establishment, the project originated in Ban Nawha, Nawha district, Nakhon Phanom province where the country’s first silk weaving group was founded. On January 23th, 2022, HRH The Princess travelled to Wat That Prasit there to visit an exhibition on The SUPPORT Foundation’s first weaving group as well as to give direction for further development of local wisdom and weaving patterns in accordance to the wishes of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother whose determination to revive and modernise ancient weaving patterns has created jobs and income for the community. This has led to the creation of “Nawha Model”, the logo of which the HRH The Princess generously designed with a profound and touching meaning. HRH Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya became interested in The SUPPORT Foundation’s work at a very young age. Accompanying Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on many trips to visit the Foundation members in different regions, HRH The Princess realised that her grandmother’s focus was the preservation of the local wisdoms passed on for generations. This in turn has promoted the love for Thailand’s artistic heritage and generated self-sufficient income. Hand-woven textiles, especially, is a respectable craftsmanship reflecting local wisdom and civilization. HRH Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya is hence determined to support all jobs related to the making of Thai textiles in accordance with Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s original wish to preserve unique local textiles in this fast-changing globalised world by creating a sustainable career in Thai textiles for the locals. Realising the importance of local wisdom which shapes Thailand’s national identity, HRH The Princess frequently visits weaving community groups in different provinces to give encouragement and moral support to local weavers, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when everyone’s livelihood was affected. People have been touched by her visits: a proof of the monarch’s will to give long-term support for the people, not merely a quick solution. In addition, her visits have revived public interest in hand-woven textiles. The “Princess Sirivannavari’s S Motif” has been presented to the weavers and the subsequent textile design contest has generated economic activity for the weaving communities during the crisis of the pandemic when many other activities came to a standstill. Despite having visited many places where highly celebrated textiles were originated, HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya chose to launch her initiative in Nakhon Si Thammarat province. “At the SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (SACIT) (in Bangsai district, Ayutthaya province), I visited all exhibitions on Thai textiles and became particularly interested in Southern textiles. Some of their patterns are similar to those of the Northern counterparts. Back then, I had no idea what they’re called or where the design originated. I kept those questions in mind and that motivated me to learn more about them. I wanted to go to the places these textiles came from. Then, during a merit-making trip to the South , I witnessed local craftsmanship first-hand and felt an urge to sustain and develop the projects initiated by my grandmother.”

34 HRH The Princess’s goal is not only to preserve the local wisdom of weaving, but also explore ways to expand the market for their textiles. “People may forget that fashion has a very wide market spanning different levels of society. Thai textiles can be part of luxury and home furnishing markets. I don’t want people to think of Thai textiles exclusively as fashion: there are many other opportunities for them.” HRH The Princess has applied advice from many experts in her working team to ensure maximum benefit for the people. “I’m very thankful to everyone for being open and sharing their experiences with one another. I can see we’re all motivated to work on this together. I’ve always made sure we’re all on the same page, especially when I work with Vogue Thailand which has had experiences working with Thai designers and craftsmanship. I’d like to know whether they see exactly what I see, or agree with what I’m doing, so that I know we’re moving in the same direction.” HRH The Princess’s fascination with Thai textiles has brought great benefits to the people, especially their increasing career opportunities. “When I was young, before studying abroad, I always wanted to work with Thai textiles. I’ve seen them since when I was a child and I thought they’re amazing. They’re beautiful and remarkable and I wanted to learn more about them. My grandmother has been my idol. When I went to bid her farewell before my overseas study in fashion design, she told me not to forget my Thai roots, most notably their style and taste which could become striking once fused with certain Western characteristics. I then made a vow to myself that I’d do whatever I could with my profession to help improve Thai people’s quality of life.” During her visit to Ban Donkoi in Sakon Nakhon province famed for beautiful indigo-dyed woven textiles, HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya expressed the need to preserve this cultural heritage while stressing the sustainable and eco-friendly aspects of the weaving industry, a major concern for the global fashion market. In addition, she emphasised the versatility of Thai textiles with wider possibilities beyond fashion. “Here’s a hub of woven textiles which has been creating very beautiful products. Now, we have to think what we can do to add more value, making them more marketable. What’s important is the product's quality. We need to expand the weavers’ world view so that they understand woven textiles are not only for wearing, but also many other uses like accessories and home furnishings. I went there to observe their way of living and to identify the potential market. I wanted to see how far they’d developed, how much they’d evolved creatively and to give them moral support. Honestly, I ‘d love to see them keeping up with their heritage, and to add a modern touch. I was there to see how they wanted to sustain this into the future.” Not only did she observe the development of textile works at Donkoi, but HRH The Princess also gave useful advice for creating an identity for indigo-dyed fabrics there. “I told them there should have been different shades of indigo: colour mixing and threads are very important. In terms of designing patterns, there needs to be a combination of large-scale and small-scale ones while colours, rhythm and space also need to be put into consideration. This is what they do on a daily basis so chances are that they’re just repeating the familiar process. If I give feedback like ‘This is nice and it would be great if we have large-scale patterns for the entire fabric,’ then we’ll have different works. Sometimes we develop ideas and techniques for the rim parts. I know how consumers use these textiles so we need to design patterns that better fit the market. We also asked what other trade the locals wanted to do? We then gave them advice on what other community products they could make from their indigo-dyed textiles.”

During this trip, HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya also performed traditional Thai dance with the locals at the welcoming ceremony. Memorable images of this, later published in several media outlets, have brought joy to the Thai people. Her friendly demeanour has indeed touched many hearts. “Personally, I was happy I could join their dance. Everyone was wearing traditional clothes and I was especially delighted to see young children wearing indigo-dyed clothes. There was this mud-dyed t-shirt worn with shorts, probably a local sports uniform: it’s really cute. It felt very pastoral…People are living sufficiently: it’s a reality.” During the time HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya travelled to the South to observe local handicrafts at Chalerm Phrakiat Building, Princess of Naradhiwas University, Narathiwat province, one of the people at the welcoming ceremony was Acting Lieutenant Dilok Sirivallop, a Narathiwat native who once served as a Malay language interpreter for Their Majesties King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit on their visit to the Southernmost provinces. Acting Lt. Dilok continued his service when the Queen later travelled with the Princess to work in the South. HRH The Princess : “Back then when I was with Khun Dilok, I was a naughty kid, right?” Mr. Dilok : “In a cute way, your highness,”. “I’d like Khun Dilok to tell us about the time you worked for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, and how you came to see me.” Mr. Dilok : “Back in 1973, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great took residence here in Narathiwat. That marked my first impression as the province was very impoverished back then. He started the first royal project here. It’s an educational project to develop Thai language speaking and communication skills for the locals. That’s how the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre came to be. It’s Thailand’s first and still the only centre of its kind that’s been working on integration in terms of education, religion, tradition and culture, all part of the original conflict here,” HRH The Princess : “Back then when I accompanied my grandmother here, she had an agricultural project aside from embroidery and woven textiles, do you remember that?” Mr. Dilok : “Yes, indeed. Women here had little education and not much work from which they could earn a living, so most were housewives. The SUPPORT Foundation in addition to the Royal Projects have been creating many jobs for teenagers, people with disabilities and many others. With careers, they feel they’re worthy people. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, people working for the SUPPORT Foundation could do it from home efficiently. Those hard-working ones earn more and so do those whose works are beautiful. I came here because I was assigned by Your Highness’s grandmother to oversee six categories of The SUPPORT Foundation products including Liphao, Bai Chew, Pa-nan, palm leaves, model ships and rubber.” HRH The Princess : “So we have to sustain this and take it further.” Mr. Dilok : “Once Narathiwat is restored, people will be lively. They will love the country and the King.” In sustaining Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s determination to help Thai people, HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya gave a few practical directions. First was to upskill the weavers in order to achieve the highest level of excellence by organising a design and weaving contest for “Princess Sirivannavari’s S Motif.” Second was to create the “demand” for Thai textiles to drive the “supply” by initiating the “Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanook” project to encourage people of all ages and genders to wear Thai fabrics on any occasion. In addition, she noted that good design was fundamental in making the textile compatible for everyone. This in turn has prompted weavers to learn that “the demands for their products will increase should they create what the market is looking for.” This can be achieved by adjusting the originally beautiful traditional pattern to make it more contemporary like downsizing patterns or combining different designs. Third was to utilise earth-tone palettes which are not only versatile, but also serve as a contrast to any colours and make the design more modern. The knowledge she has acquired through lengthy research has culminated in the Thai Textiles Trend Book, published by the Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture. Fourth was to focus on sustainability. HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya encourages weavers to make their process more environmentally friendly by, for example, using natural dyes, growing plants that can give natural dyes and growing one’s own cotton or cultivating silkworms in an eco-friendly way to ensure the non-toxic and chemical-free process. This guarantees safety not only for wearers, but also for the weavers, the soil, the water and the world we live in.

Weaving technique is not the only element HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya aims to promote. In fact, HRH The Princess wants to preserve the entire culture of weaving: the dyeing of the threads with natural dyes, the technique of indigo-dye inherited through generations and even batik drawing—all of these HRH The Princess regards as Thailand’s national heritage. During a visit to Ban Donkoi Indigo-Dyed Weaving Group in Phanna Nikhom district, Sakon Nakhon, HRH The Princess tried spinning and weaving hands-on, while greeting members of the weaving group. This special gesture brought joy to and boosted morale of the community, while also casting spotlight on the indigo-dyed hair from local Phutai wisdom. Indigo dyeing technique is unique to each community, with methods and features that differ from one to another, and hence the need for preservation. Moreover, HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya gave moral support to local OTOP (One Tambon One Product) weavers in “Suebsan Anurak Silp Pha Thin Thai Damrong Wai Nai Phaendin” (Inheriting and Conserving Arts of Thai Traditional Fabrics to Remain in Our Land) project for the Northeastern region at the OTOP fair organised by Community Development Department, Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Interior’s Ladies Association, at Chamchuri Auditorium, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University. Textiles from weaving communities such as those from Phutai Dam community, Phraewa silk from Ban Phon, Kalasin province and Nong Bua Daeng Natural Dye Weaving Group from Chaiyaphum province were featured. She gave suggestions on pattern development and colourway that would enhance their textiles with an outstanding, modern look. HRH The Princess work with Thai textiles has clearly given the industry a much needed lift. These initiatives have created not only more jobs but also much enthusiasm for the use of Thai fabrics among different creative communities as well as the development of weaving techniques and products in the market. This is evident in the larger interest among fairs featuring community products, thanks to the quality, the development of new design, forms and silhouettes that appeal to contemporary consumers. Above all, this is due to the Thai Textiles Trend Book, edited by HRH The Princess herself, and featuring seasonal colour trends. The book has become an indispensable bible for both weavers and designers alike. “Thai Textiles Trend Book Spring/Summer 2022 is a prelude to the new age of eclecticism featuring information on Thai textiles and, most remarkably, comparative guidelines on global colour trends and Thai palettes derived from the long-cherished, inimitable local wisdoms. The book encourages the use of six naturally-extracted colour dyes in correspondence with the Spring/Summer 2022 fashion trend. HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya presided over the book launch as well as the supplementary seminar "Promoting and Developing the Image of Thai Fabrics to be International for the Year 2022" to help develop and share the knowledge with the textile industry. Organised by Cultural Promotion Department, Ministry of Culture, it was accompanied by the exhibition "Trends and Directions of Thai Fabrics and Costume Designs with Thai Fabrics” where visitors could enjoy exquisite creations by 12 renowned Thai fashion designers. HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya wrote in the preface: “The Cultural Promotion Department at the Ministry of Culture and my advisory team have compiled in-depth information and conducted research for this book, making Thai Textiles Trend Book Spring/Summer 2022 a truly practical guide. I have also put into this book my own fashion experiences, accumulated from years of study and overseas visits, my hands-on practice, my opportunities as a lecturer at different universities in addition to my actual visits to different localities which have given me diverse perspectives as well as my capabilities in the hope that it would benefit students, lecturers, manufacturers, artists, weavers and aspiring designers in all practices and from all regions. This is to preserve our cultural heritage and create jobs so that people can sustainably take care of their family. This is what His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, my royal grandfather and royal grandmother, always taught me.”

38 Apart from her role as the editor-in-chief of Thai Textiles Trend Book, currently in its third volume, HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya always presides over the seminar at the launch of each volume in order to elaborate on its objectives and benefits. For example, she explained in the at the seminar "Promoting and Developing the Image of Thai Fabrics to be International” at the launch of Thai Textiles Trend Book Autumn/Winter 2022-2023: “The first volume is very successful both in terms of feedback and subsequent textile work. There’s clearly improvement in colour and knowledge development. I’m very proud of this serious fashion textbook that’s colourful, beautiful, comprehensive and practical. For the global fashion industry, there’s a term ‘seasonal’ and ‘Autumn/Winter’ isn’t entirely irrelevant in Thailand as our weather isn’t as cold as it was. However, Thai people always travel abroad so there are opportunities to wear Autumn/Winter clothes.” “In the first volume, we talk about textile patterns from each province. This year, I’d like to take it further by discussing indigo-dyed textile. If you read international textbooks, you know it’s everywhere. There are iced water dyeing and tie dye in the US, India and Japan with slightly different colours from what we have here due to different conditions of the soil, sunlight, fermentation and tying techniques. In Thailand, the heart of this indigo dyeing technique is in Sakon Nakhon, then it’s spread to the North, and some parts of the central region. Indigo dyeing is a natural process and the whole world is talking about sustainability and upcycling right now so we should focus on natural dyes. Indigo is a ubiquitous colour. It is the starting colour you can use to mix with other colours to get a new shade which you can refer to in the Thai Color Tones. In the first volume, we’ve introduced six techniques: Khit, Chok, Yok, Mud Mee, Ko Luang and Printing & Painting. For this volume, we add two techniques—“Patchwork” and “Don”. You can find the former in indigenous Northern people’s traditional clothes and we use the latter for duvet. This Trend Book exceeds the scope of the fashion industry because we also include home decors, interior design and architecture as well as stories of artisans and craft masters. It’s a national treasure, a textbook from which you can acquire knowledge without having to pay foreigners. Also, it’s written in a style that’s easy to understand.” In addition, HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya understands the current environmental condition of the world of which Thailand’s textile industry also needs to be aware. On sustainability in fashion, she notes: “Following the previous volume’s success, our textile industry has become more active in terms of production. There’s a good energy in the design industry where we now see new colours and knowledge. I’m proud that we finally have a serious fashion textbook that can be used for both classroom and professional practices.” “However, the textile industry has a role in causing climate change. This issue, we thus touch on issues like resource management such as replanting and maximising materials to reduce wastes. Our ancient natural dyeing wisdoms can solve this problem but we first need to take it seriously. I hope people enjoy reading the book and find it useful for the textile, fashion and design industry until we have the next Trend Book.” The latest and third volume, Thai Textiles Trend Book Spring/Summer 2023, proposes the idea “Moving Culture” concerning movement of textile cultures and exchange of textile identities among different localities, inspired by Thailand’s summer. The study is conducted through research on local wisdoms and handicrafts to demonstrate how Thai textiles have embraced influences of other cultures. This reflects the moving nature of cultures—how they slowly adapt and continuously transform through exchanges. During the discussion at the book launch, HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajkanya remarked on the origin of this volume: “I’m a woman of action, not words. These images are all about me at work, whether at home or abroad. What I really like is that they show I work with my hands—taking photos and writing notes, for example. These are inspirations I’d like to share with people working in this field. Our hard work can set an example for others.”

In addition, HRH The Princess also talked about her expectation for this book to be useful for others. “I’d like to see young people challenging themselves by using Pha Khao Ma for accessories or home decors.” The issue also features what HRH The Princess would like readers to focus on apart from topics like Thai Color Tones, the heart and soul of every volume of Thai Textiles Trend Book. “I want to highlight batik, Pha Khao Ma, Hangkrarok silk, printed silk using natural colours, seasonal materials such as hand-spun cotton, delicate silk thread, hemp fibre and recycled fibre. You can see recycled fibre everywhere now: it’s a global trend. I had an opportunity to feel recycled fibre in Italy: it’s soft, slightly uneven and has a moderately tight mesh. In Thailand, it’s relatively new and needs time to develop. I think it will work: it’s worth a try.” “The five colour trends are all connected. They are well-known colours and can be used as reference for designing textile colours. I’d like to encourage everyone to research on and observe the use of colours in architecture, objects and nature.” HRH The Princess also talked about all the Thai Textiles Trend Book volumes: “Volume 1 and 2 are as useful as Volume 3. We’ve digested the information for easy usage. I’d like to reiterate that these books are made in Thailand and all students can equally use them as textbooks. Their quality is similar to that of expensive Western counterparts. Everyone can use them as reference in their professional practice: you just need to use them well, then you’ll do well. That’s what I’d like you to understand.” “I truly believe that these books will serve as the source of knowledge all manufacturers have been waiting for. Your profit will thrive once you use them. We academics have the duty to digest the knowledge for your use. Teachers and lecturers also have the duty to teach and let students do it by themselves…These are the books that work when you actually do it. I truly believe our country will prosper in our hands. I’ll then leave these book in your hands so you can make the best use of them.” There is a recent development on “Donkoi Model,” the model weaving group of Phanna Nikhom, Sakon Nakhon. This initiative of HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya has been carried out by Community Development Department, Ministry of Interior, which supports this royally initiated “Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanook” project with a purpose to develop the textiles from Ban Donkoi towards becoming a model community of the country. Since 2020 when HRH The Princess visited the Ban Donkoi and observed the production of indigo-dyed textiles there, it only took the community only two years to produce new modern patterns and designs with colours that reference fashion trends. Their products have been generating a monthly income of over 10,000 Thai baht for each household, leading to the next step of becoming a sustainable model community with the establishment of Ban Donkoi’s indigo dyeing learning centre “Wichalai Donkoi - The Way of Sustainability.” “Nawha Model” celebrates the 50th anniversary of The SUPPORT Foundation of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand. This Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s initiative has been promoting, reviving and developing local wisdoms through ancient patterns made by model weaving communities. Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s determination has made textiles from Nawha model community at Nakhon Phanom’s Nawha district Thailand’s living heritage. Community Development Department, Ministry of Interior is committed to support HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya’s further initiative in reviving the Nawha model’s cultivation of silkworms to provide sufficient materials for weaving all year round, to alleviate the problem of low fibre supply and to be in complete control of the whole sustainable production cycle.
