I must tell you that I am very happy after having read and answered the mail from a new friend who lives in a far country. Luang Prabang sounds exciting; I would like to visit you and go to interesting places in Luang Prabang, but I can’t afford to travel at this time. As you know, a round- trip ticket from Sidney to Vientiane is quite expensive. However, I am saving up the money so that I can come to see you. As for my hobbies, interests and ambition, I have quite a few; writing poetry and short stories are my favorite hobbies. Please keep my ambition as a secret between us. My ambition is to become a famous writer someday. I am a music lover. I listen to all kinds of music. I also play the piano and basketball for my school. We have to practise every Saturday morning. Well, let me know about your hobbies, interests and ambition. I have two e-mail addresses. My second one is, [email protected]. Thanks so much. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Preparing for a picnic at Tad Moon. My name is Deng. This is my plan about the upcoming holidays. My family and I are going to have a picnic at Tad Moon which suggested by one of my classmates, Somsy. In the past, we always bought lunch at site, but this time we plan to prepare lunch ourselves. We’re going to make bamboo soup at the picnic area. So, we have to get our cooking utensils and food ingredients for the cooking. Making the bamboo shoot soup, we need bamboo shoots, chillies, fermented fish sauce and soaked sticky rice (sticky rice paste). These are the main ingredients, and they are available at Tad Moon where local people sell their products. Charcoal and beverages are also available at the refreshment centre. It’s quite convenient to do your own cooking at Tad Moon. We are also going to wear something that suitable to go swimming. Sport shoes are also necessary in case we want to take a walk along the river bank. I think we have everything that we need and just hope the weather would be nice on the day of our picnic so we can enjoy the holidays. 3_Eng_M6 TB ready for print.pdf 40 7/31/2015 9:22:23 AM ສ.ວ.ສ ສະຫງວນລຂ ິ ະສດ ິ

Driving to Luang Prabang Driving to Luang Prabang in Laos is tiring, but interesting to see views along the road. Luang Prabang is about 350 km. far from Vientiane Capital. Most local tourists like to drive to Luang Prabang even though they know the road is hilly and curved that makes them very tired. On the road from Vientiane Capital, they can see beautiful Lao old style wooden houses that are not easy to find in other places. The first mountain, they have to cross is PhouPha where most passengers stop at the altar site and make their wishes for safe trips. When they go down the other side of Phoupha, they start to take adventure along narrow, hilly, curved, and sometimes on the cliff road. However, they can unwind themselves when they arrived to VangVieng where they can see beautiful mountains and Lao traditional living style of people. Further up to Phoukhoun, they can stop at the famous restaurant where they can have lunch and see the view with white clouds floating under the level of the restaurant.
