“Hello! You recovered quickly. You could sit up after a

few days of your surgery,” the surgeon told Kung as he walked
into the patient room. His smile highlighted the compliment.
After examining the surgical wound, the doctor intro-
duced the lab biopsy results.
“Is it cancer, Doctor?” Kung shot out the question im-
mediately.
The surgeon was silent for a moment. He didn’t think
he would get direct questions from patients like this. He
nodded slowly.
“How come the cancer screening test I have taken in
the past years via health check-up has always been nega-
tive?” Kung’s tone of voice was filled with grief and regret.
“In some cases, the blood test results do not show a
value that exceeds the criteria. At first, I thought your result
would be negative, but the lab results came out, and they
showed that the mass was actually cancerous. It has already
spread to two out of eleven lymph nodes. Therefore, when
the surgical wound is healed, you should begin the treatment
process,” the doctor explained in a sympathetic tone.

“Do you have any other symptoms?” the doctor asked.
“My right leg, Doctor. Since I woke up from the surgery,
my right leg has felt completely numb and without any
strength. However, my left leg is fine.”
“I will coordinate this matter and refer a neurologist to
come in and have a look.”
“Thank you, Doctor,” Kung replied.
One afternoon, Kung pondered and began to feel unde-
termined whether she should receive chemotherapy treat-
ment or not. Then, she thought of a friend practicing as a
doctor in America who had been treated for breast cancer
in the past. Kung had known her since she studied abroad.
“Are you familiar with the American Cancer Society?
They have a lot of excellent online resources in case you are
interested in learning more. https://www.cancer.org/cancer/
colon-rectal-cancer.html (American Cancer Society)6,” Kung’s
friend commented.
“Thank you so much. I will look into it. But, to be hon-
est, I’m so afraid of chemotherapy. I have heard of terrible
side effects.” Kung consulted a friend as well as vented out
her worries and concerns.

“I can certainly relate to the fear of chemotherapy and
its side effects. However, I think each type of chemotherapy
has its own effects. For example, the treatment for breast
cancer differs from colon cancer. The main goal is to treat
it aggressively once, so you don’t ever have to treat it again.
If it were to come back later, the treatment would be much
harsher, and you would be older and less likely to tolerate
it well.”
The words of this trusted Christian friend, a family prac-
tice physician, made Kung seriously decide to move on with
the chemotherapy treatment.

In an examination room in the Oncology Department, Kung

watched her doctor go over his notes.
“A CT Scan (Computerized Tomography)7 of your ab-
domen and entire gastrointestinal tract after the surgery
last month found nothing abnormal. All is clear except two
nodules on the lungs. At this point, they are too small to
determine their nature, so we must continue to monitor
them.” The oncologist summarized the results from the
report to Kung. Then, he began explaining chemotherapy
principles for her case.
“There are many treatment regimens for chemotherapy
for stage III colon cancer in which the cancer cells have
spread to the lymph nodes. The protocol suitable for your
case is either XELOX or FOLFOX8.”
“For the XELOX regimen, you will receive the drug by
intravenous injection, which takes no more than half a day.
After that, there will be oral pills that you can continue to
take at home. Each dosing cycle is three weeks apart, and
the treatment includes four rounds total.”
“For the FOLFOX regimen, the drug is administered by
intravenous injection only, no oral medication. However, you

must stay in the hospital for three days and two nights. Each
dosing cycle is two weeks apart for twelve rounds in total.”
“I would like to choose the first regimen. I don’t want
to stay overnight at the hospital unnecessarily. I have to
take care of my mother and two children. Also, if possible,
I want to finish my chemotherapy before August. My family
will move to Montenegro because my husband got a new
teaching position there.”
“If that’s the case, then fine. You can finish chemo-
therapy in three months, but with a condition. Your body
must be able to handle it okay without dosage reduction or
postponement of each chemo round. The side effects from
the XELOX regimen will be much more than the FOLFOX
regimen.” The doctor warned Kung.
“Understood, Doctor. I will try to endure.” Kung accepted
the warning with a firm tone. She thought her body would
be able to handle it. Kung was not a weak person and had
no health problems in the past. Moreover, she has enjoyed
playing sports since she was a teenager, whether basketball,
badminton, tennis, or swimming.

ก่อนนอนคืนนั้น ลูกคนเล็กถามกุ้งว่า “แม่ครับ อะไรคือเคมีบำ�บัด
ครับ” เด็กทั้งสองรู้ว่าวันนี้แม่ของตนไปรับเคมีบำ�บัดเป็นครั้งแรกใน
ชีวิต
กุ้งพยายามคิดว่า จะอธิบายให้ลูกเห็นภาพได้อย่างไร แล้วจึงเริ่ม
พูดว่า
“ตอนนี้ ในร่างกายของแม่ กำ�ลังมีสงครามระหว่างสองฝ่าย ฝ่าย
หนึ่งคือคนร้าย ซึ่งก็คือเซลล์มะเร็ง อีกฝ่ายหนึ่งคือคนดี นั่นคือ เซลล์
ที่ดี รวมทั้งภูมิคุ้มกันของร่างกายด้วย แต่เราไม่รู้ว่าฝ่ายไหนมีมากกว่า
กัน และการสู้รบนั้นใครจะชนะ การให้เคมีบำ�บัดเข้าไปในร่างกาย ก็
เหมือนการส่งพายุทอร์นาโดเข้าไปในสนามรบ ในระหว่างที่ฝ่ายคน

At the Chemotherapy Department, Kung reclined next
to a host of medical equipment.
“It’s time to start releasing the drug,” said the nurse
standing beside the bed. She spoke in a gentle voice when
she learned that this was the first time for Kung to receive
chemotherapy.
Chemotherapy marks the beginning of a journey through
the dark. At this moment, Kung’s gaze was fixed on her left
arm, which has a needle connected to a saline line and an
IV drug bottle that hangs high beside her bed. As soon as
the chemo drug entered her body, Kung could feel a cooling
sensation that gradually spread to both of her lungs. She
had never experienced anything like it.
Kung knew that in a time such as this, the Word of God
was the only thing she could depend on, so she opened up
the Bible verses that she had been familiar with since child-
hood.

The Lord, the Psalmist’s Shepherd.

The Lord is my shepherd; I will not be in need.
He lets me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.

At the end of the chapter, Kung closed her eyes. Then
she reflected in her heart again.

of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and
Your staff comfort me.”
Today, this verse held special significance to her. Little
tears began to flow down both cheeks. “God, I will not be
afraid. Please give me strength. Increase any faith that I
may lack.” Kung prayed to God.
Before bed that night, Kung’s youngest son asked,
“Mom, what is chemotherapy?” Both children knew that
their mother had gone for chemotherapy for the first time
today.
Kung tried to figure out how to explain it to the children,
then she said, “Right now, there is a war going on between
two sides in my body. On one side are the villains, who are
cancer cells. On the other side are the heroes: good cells
and the body’s immune system. However, we don’t know
which side has more troops or who will win that battle. In-
jecting chemotherapy drugs into my body is like sending a
tornado storm into the battle while the villains fight against
the heroes. The heroes hope that the storm will completely
wipe out the villains. But, of course, the heroes will also be
hurt by the storm and have some losses. The hope is that
the heroes will survive, even a few, and one day they will be
able to rebuild a new strong army again.”

จากคีโมที่เพิ่งได้รับไป เธอเอื้อมหยิบมือถือขึ้นมาดูว่ากี่โมงแล้ว และ
เห็นข้อความหนึ่งจากร้อบ สามีของเธอ
“ตอนนี้พ่อของผมอยู่ในห้องไอซียู ด้วยภาวะหัวใจล้มเหลว ผม
ซื้อตั๋วเครื่องบินแล้ว อีกสองวันจะบินไปอเมริกา”
กุ้งอ่านข้อความนั้นด้วยความตกใจ ไม่กี่วันก่อน ร้อบเพิ่งส่งต่อ
ข้อความจากพี่สาวของเขาที่อเมริกามาให้ บอกให้รู้ว่าพ่อของเขาเข้า
ห้องฉุกเฉิน พ่อปวดท้องและหายใจไม่ออก อีกทั้งมีปัญหาด้านหัวใจ
และมีภาวะโลหิตจางจากมะเร็งต่อมน้ำ�เหลืองที่มีมาหลายปี ทำ�ให้

ได้รับออกซิเจนเต็มขนาด พ่อก็ยังมีเหงื่อเต็มใบหน้าด้วยความเหนื่อย
จากการที่ต้องพยายามหายใจ เราทุกคนจึงตัดสินใจให้พ่อจากไปอย่าง

สงบ เราไม่อยากให้พ่อต้องทรมานมากไปกว่านี้ วันสุดท้ายที่พ่อจาก

“พ่อของคุณต้องดีใจมากที่ได้เห็นคุณอีกครั้ง ขอบคุณพระเจ้า
จริงๆ ที่คุณได้กลับไปทันดูใจพ่อ” กุ้งพูดด้วยเสียงสั่นเครือ และมี
น้ำ�ตาคลอ “คุณร้องไห้หรือเปล่า”
“ผมร้องไห้สองครั้ง ครั้งแรกคือตอนที่เครื่องบินเริ่มออกจาก
สนามบินที่เมืองเคียฟประเทศยูเครน ผมรู้สึกว่าขณะนั้นทุกอย่าง
มันเป็นจริงมาก นั่นคือผมกำ�ลังจะกลับไปลาพ่อเป็นครั้งสุดท้ายแล้ว
จริงๆ และผมร้องไห้อีกครั้งหลังจากที่พ่อได้จากไป พวกเราจะคิดถึง

It was very late into the night, but Kung was still awake.

She couldn’t sleep well due to the side effects of the che-
motherapy she had just received. So Kung reached out and
picked up her phone to check the time. Then she saw a
message from her husband, Rob.
“My father is now in the ICU with heart failure. I have
bought a plane ticket and will fly to America in two days.”
Kung read the message in shock.
A few days ago, Rob had just forwarded a message from
his sister in America. His father was in the emergency room
with abdominal pain and shortness of breath. He also had
anemia, lymphoma, and cardiac issues, so a blood transfu-
sion was needed. He was deteriorating rapidly.
Kung sent a reply to her husband. “I want to let you
know that I have sent messages to many friends to pray for
you and your trip back to America. I also mentioned your
father’s condition.” She had never thought that everything
would happen so suddenly.
A few days later, Kung received the news that Rob’s
father had passed away peacefully.

“Was your father conscious and able to communicate
with you when you met him?” Kung asked her husband when
they had the opportunity to talk on the phone.
“Yes, Dad could hear me speak and replied by writing
in a notepad. I had the opportunity to be alone with him
for one full day. However, he was exhausted. Even with full
oxygen support, Dad was sweating all over his face. He was
exhausted even from just trying to breathe in the oxygen.
Thus, we all decided to let my father pass away peacefully.
We don’t want him to suffer anymore. On his last day, all
three of us held his hand until his last breath.”
“Your father must have been happy to see you again.
Thank God that you got back in time to see him.” Kung spoke
in a trembling voice with tears in her eyes. “Did you cry?”
“I cried twice. The first time was when the plane took
off from the airport in Kyiv. I felt like that moment was so
real that I was returning to say goodbye to my father for
the last time. Then I cried after the moment my father
eventually passed away. We will miss him, but I know I will
see him again10.”

ขณะที่นอนพักอยู่บนเตียงที่บ้านของเธอ
“ยึดมั่นไว้ แล้วเดินหน้าต่อไปนะ นอนพักเยอะๆ แล้ววิ่งรอบๆ
บ้าน สักสองสามรอบ!”
“แค่จะเดินเร็วๆ ฉันยังแทบไม่ไหวเลย นับประสาอะไรกับการ
วิ่ง ผลข้างเคียงจากคีโมทำ�ให้ฝ่าเท้าของฉันเจ็บไปหมด” กุ้งตอบ
พร้อมกับนึกขำ�
“มันก็เหมือนกับการวิ่งมาราธอน ในรอบกิโลเมตรสุดท้ายนั่น
แหละ มันอยู่ที่จิตใจต่างหาก” เพื่อนของกุ้งพูดจากประสบการณ์
ตรง ที่เคยวิ่งมาราธอนมาในอดีต
“อืม พูดได้ดีทีเดียว ขอบใจนะ”
หลังจากที่กุ้งรับคีโมผ่านไปได้สามสัปดาห์ วันนี้กุ้งได้กลับมาพบ
หมอด้านมะเร็งอีกครั้ง เพื่อรับคีโมรอบที่สอง แต่ทว่า เวลานี้ กุ้งไม่มี
แม้แต่เรี่ยวแรงที่จะลุกนั่ง

“How are you feeling, Kung? How many rounds of che-

motherapy have you had?” asked a concerned friend over
a text message.
“One round already, but there are three more to go,”
replied Kung as she lay on her bed at home.
“One down. Well, stick with it, get lots of rest, and run
a few times around the block!”
“I could hardly do a brisk walk. How could I run? My
feet are sore. It’s part of the side effects from the chemo.”
Kung replied as she laughed.
“It’s like running a marathon in the 25th mile. It’s a
mental state!” said Kung’s friend from direct experience;
he’d run marathons in the past.
“True. Well said. Thank you.”
Three weeks after the first round of chemo, Kung re-
turned to see her Oncologist again for a second round, but
this time she didn’t even have the strength to sit up.
“Low blood pressure. Are you okay?” asked the nurse
in the exam room. Kung was silent; she hadn’t the strength

to answer. The nurse helped her to lie down on a nearby
bed.
“Lie here first. I’ll ask the doctor to come and visit you
here instead.” Not long after, the doctor walked into the
spot where Kung was resting.
“The blood count today is not very good. White blood
cell levels are abnormally low. I will adjust the medication
to help with some side effects, but you have to nourish
yourself a lot more. If the white blood cell count is below
the threshold, you will not be able to continue chemo. For
the treatment to be the most effective, the chemo cycle
should not be interrupted.”
“Yes, Doctor,” Kung agreed in a low voice. In her mind,
she wasn’t sure if she could do what the doctor told her.
The nurse took Kung to the chemotherapy room a moment
later to continue receiving the second round of chemo.

“Hello, Teacher. I just emailed you details of the boys’
homework for this week.” Kung sent a short message to the
boys’ tutors in Thailand.
“I am currently receiving chemotherapy at the hospital.
Therefore, I am leaving the boys in your care.”
“Sure, no problem. I will also add in some fun games
during the lessons for them,” the tutor replied.
At the end of each lesson, the various tutors update Kung
on the children’s completed assignments with pictures. Kung
felt grateful to God for His provision in bringing tutors who
love and understand the boys by helping with school home-
work and assignments. In addition, the Covid-19 situation in
Ukraine made the school decide to offer online classes this
year. Therefore, both children could switch from in-person
classes to online courses without flying back to Ukraine.
Kung had been dismayed by COVID-19 and its effects
since the start of the Pandemic, but now she gained a new
perspective: sometimes there are hidden blessings in what
seem like calamities.

Furthermore, Kung felt blessed by God’s financial provi-
sion in her time of need. Each month, Kung would receive
compensation from the health insurance she purchased
several years ago for critical illness, which was enough to pay
for her children’s tutoring costs. As a result, her husband
was not burdened with additional responsibilities while the
boys studied online.
When Kung finished chemotherapy treatment and
returned home, she updated her husband on her latest
condition as of the second chemo round.
“I am not sure if I can continue with the treatment. I
feel fatigued and so discouraged that I want to stop che-
motherapy altogether.”
Upon hearing that, Kung’s husband then consulted her.
“The other day, my sister suggested I fly to Thailand and
bring the boys back to Ukraine. She was concerned that
you may not have the strength and energy to care for the
children during chemotherapy. What do you think? What are
your thoughts?”
“I will need some time to think about it,” replied Kung
with a heavy feeling.

กุ้งนึกถึงความเจ็บปวดของพระเยซูที่ต้องทนทุกข์ทรมานมากมายเพื่อ
เราบนกางเขน เพราะมันจะช่วยให้เราผ่านความทุกข์ยากลำ�บากครั้ง
นี้ไปได้ ขอพระเจ้าทรงเมตตาน้องกุ้งนะคะ” น้ำ�เสียงที่พูดนั้นเต็ม
ไปด้วยความห่วงใย
ก่อนที่กุ้งจะหลับตาลงนอน เธอพูดกับพระเจ้าในใจว่า “พระเจ้า
ค่ะ หนูเชื่อว่าพระองค์มีเหตุผลที่ให้หนูต้องเผชิญกับความทุกข์ทรมาน
แบบนี้”

In the late afternoon, Kung looked at the two children

as they were happily playing together. Their laughter and
Grandma Pat’s smile when she looked at her grandchildren
prompted Kung to pick up her phone.
“I have made the decision. I want the boys to continue
being in Thailand. Both are important encouragement and
emotional support for my mom and me. How will my mother
and I continue to fight cancer without them here with us?”
Kung told her husband in a trembling voice.
One week later, the side effects of chemo became more
pronounced. Early on, Kung’s fingertips went numb and felt
a sharp pain when exposed to room temperature water.
Now, however, her fingertips began to turn dark purple as
if there had been no blood flow for weeks. There were no
prints left on her fingers and toes. Kung’s fingernails and
toenails became fragile and brittle. They were no longer
smooth but bumpy and dark in color. She barely had the
strength to pick up anything.
In the evening, Kung planned to take the kids to the
bedroom upstairs.

“Would you like to sleep downstairs? Kaew can help to
set the bed for you,” Kung’s mother asked with concern.
“No, Mom. I will sleep with the boys upstairs. If I sleep
downstairs, the children will follow me, and they will interfere
with your rest,” said Kung as she walked up the stairs.
Kung’s two hands tried to hold onto the railing tightly.
Each step was challenging. Because the soles of her feet were
red and swollen, each step that Kung took felt like there were
sharp nails on the ground. She felt like she was climbing a
steep mountain; the railing was a rope that helped her to
pull her body forward bit by bit.
“Can you help by supporting me?” Kung asked the
children.
The two children did not hesitate. Instead, they quickly
came to support Kung on the side and behind her. A mo-
ment like this made Kung think that she had made the right
decision to keep her children with her in Thailand.

Before bed that night, Kung recalled her conversation
with a Sister in Christ from church. She had been kind enough
to care for Kung while she was at the hospital many times
during the surgery and chemotherapy treatment.
“Kung, how are you? Are your red and swollen soles any
better?”
“No, Sister. It hurts more and more every day to the
point where I almost don’t want to walk anywhere,” Kung
replied as she showed her soles.
“What you are experiencing now, I would like to encour-
age you to think of the pain Jesus suffered so much for us
on the cross; it will help us get through this hardship. May
God have mercy on you.” Her voice was full of concern.
Before Kung closed her eyes to sleep, she said to God
in her heart, “Lord, I believe you have a reason for allowing
me to experience this suffering.”

กุ้งรู้สึกกระวนกระวายและขุ่นเคืองตลอดเวลา
“ผมไม่อยากอยู่ที่นี่อีกแล้ว!” ลูกคนโตพูดเสียงดัง น้ำ�ใสๆ เริ่ม
เอ่อล้นจากดวงตา หลังจากที่เขากับแม่ไม่อาจตกลงกันได้อยู่พักใหญ่
“ไปเลย อยากไปไหนก็ไปเลย เดี๋ยวแม่จะช่วยเก็บกระเป๋าเสื้อผ้า
ให้ด้วย!” กุ้งเผลอตวาดใส่ลูกด้วยความโกรธจนตัวสั่น แล้วเดินออก
จากห้องนั้นทันที
กุ้งนั่งอยู่คนเดียวลำ�พังอีกส่วนหนึ่งของบ้าน และเธอเองก็ร้องไห้
ไม่ต่างจากลูกเช่นกัน กุ้งรู้สึกเกลียดตัวเองเป็นที่สุด “นี่ฉันทำ�อะไรลง
ไป!” กุง้ ตอ่ วา่ ตวั เอง แลว้ นึกถงึ ถอ้ ยค�ำ เตอื นของรุ่นพี่ครสิ เตยี นคนหนึง่
ที่เคยผ่านการรับเคมีบำ�บัดมาเมื่อสิบปีก่อน
“ช่วงที่รับคีโม ไม่เพียงแต่ร่างกายจะเปลี่ยนแปลงไปอย่างมาก
อารมณ์ก็จะเปลี่ยนแปลงไปมากเช่นกัน คุณกุ้งต้องเตือนคนรอบข้าง
ไว้ด้วยนะครับ เขาจะได้เข้าใจว่าอารมณ์ของเราจะแปรปรวนมาก”11
ตกค่ำ� กุ้งเริ่มจะหมดแรงและปวดท้องมาก เธอมองดูเด็กสองคน
ที่กำ�ลังเพลิดเพลินกับการวาดรูปอยู่บนโต๊ะที่ห้องนอน
“เรานอนกันเถอะนะลูก แม่เหนื่อยเหลือเกิน พรุ่งนี้ค่อยทำ�ต่อ
ได้ไหมจ๊ะ” กุ้งพูดด้วยเสียงที่แผ่วเบา แต่ดูเหมือนว่าเสียงที่พูดออก
ไปนั้น จะไม่ได้รับความใส่ใจนัก
กุ้งพยายามพูดอีกครั้ง แต่เด็กๆ ก็ยังคงวาดรูปต่อ

ลูกคนเล็กรีบปล่อยดินสอในมือ แล้ววิ่งมาหากุ้งที่เตียงด้วยความ
ตกใจ “ทำ�ไมแม่ถึงพูดแบบนี้ล่ะครับ แม่ทำ�ให้หัวใจของผมรู้สึกเจ็บ
มาก” เด็กน้อยพูดอย่างไร้เดียงสา พร้อมกับเสียงสะอื้นเคล้าน้ำ�ตา
“แม่…ผมไม่อยากให้แม่ตาย” ลูกคนโตรีบตามมาที่เตียง และพูด
กับกุ้งด้วยใบหน้าที่เศร้าสลด
กุ้งมองดูลูกๆ ด้วยความรู้สึกผิดมาก “แม่ขอโทษ แม่ไม่ตั้งใจจะ
พูดรุนแรงแบบนี้ แม่ก็ไม่อยากตาย แม่อยากจะอยู่กับลูกไปนานๆ แต่
แม่ก็ไม่รู้ว่าจะทนกับสภาพนี้ ไปได้อีกนานแค่ไหน แม่ไม่รู้จะทำ�ยังไง…
ไม่รู้จะทำ�ยังไงจริงๆ!” กุ้งพูดทั้งน้ำ�ตา แล้วก็ปล่อยโฮออกมา พลางก้ม
ศีรษะลง พร้อมกับซบหน้าของตนลงบนฝ่ามือทั้งสอง นี่เป็นครั้งแรก
ในชีวิตที่เธอร้องไห้อย่างหนักต่อหน้าลูกทั้งสองคน

Over the past few days, Kung had grown increasingly

irritated. Nothing the boys spoke was pleasant to her ear.
Instead, impatience and frustration became her constant
companions.
“I don’t want to stay here anymore!” said her eldest
son, breaking into tears after Kung and he couldn’t come to
an agreement.
“Go! Go wherever you want. I’ll help you pack your lug-
gage!” Kung accidentally scolded the child in trembling anger
and immediately walked out of the room.
Kung sat alone in another part of the house, crying - no
different than her son. At this moment, Kung hated herself so
much. “What have I done?!” she angrily asked herself. Then,
at once, she thought of the cautionary words of a Brother in
Christ who had undergone chemotherapy ten years ago.
“During the chemo, not only will the body change dras-
tically, but the mood will also change a lot. So, Kung, you
must warn the people around you about this fact, so they
will understand that your moods will be very volatile11.”
In the evening, Kung’s energy was starting to run out. She
had a severe stomach ache. The two children were happily
drawing on their sketchpads on the bedroom table.

“Let’s go to sleep, Sons. Mommy is so tired. Can you
continue tomorrow?” asked Kung in a weakened voice. How-
ever, the boys did not give much attention to her asking.
Kung tried to ask again, but the children kept drawing.
“I am angry now. Do you not feel sorry for me? I am
exhausted and fatigued, you know? I will quit my chemo treat-
ment if you no longer listen to me. And if I am not healed in
the future, you two will have to live with Dad without Mommy.”
Kung trembled with rage. Tears of discouragement began
to flow. At this moment, she couldn’t control her emotions
any longer.
The youngest child quickly released the pencil in his hand
and then ran towards Kung in shock. “Why did you say that,
Mom? You made my heart hurt,” said the little boy innocently
while sobbing and tearing up.
“Mom, I don’t want you to die.” Distraught, the eldest
child rushed to the bed and spoke to Kung.
Kung looked at the children with guilt. “Sons, I’m so sorry.
I also don’t want to die. I have wanted to be with you both
for a very long time, but I don’t know how to cope with this
condition. I don’t know how much longer I will be able to
endure this. I really don’t know what to do…. I don’t know
what to do!” Kung burst out desperately as her tears ran
down her eyes. She sank her head and hid her face under
both palms. It was the first time in her life that she cried this
hard in front of her two children.
