Staffroom is an area that has a good environment that provides enough facilities to do the
work. The staff room has a good design to ensure the staff will be able to do the work
effectively. There is eight staff room that has the same design to easily recognize the rooms.
The staff room is located near the other staff room.

The meeting room is a room that needs to do and consider it as important when building the
archives building. The meeting room is a place to gather and share information and ideas
among the staff and others. The meeting room should have a big size in order to ensure all of

A pantry is a place that everyone will go to take a break after tired do a lot of works and go for
a drink and eat. The pantry has a refrigerator, water cooler and set of tables for staff to enjoy
having their meal or drink coffee. The environment in the pantry is calm to take a rest. The
pantry also has a microwave for the staff to warm up their meal from home, so they do not
have to buy food from outside the building.

The prayer room is a room that provided to all Muslims to pray especially to the staff. This
prayer room is divided into two which is for man and for the woman. This prayer room will
make easy for the staff to pray so that they do not have to find the mosque outside to go pray.

7.2 Public Area
The public area is also known as the visitor support area. It can be accessed by all of the users
and this area also can be determine as a place that can help the user. This area plays an
important role to help and make our users become comfortable to come and deals with our
archives. In order to be a good archival repository, the facilities and services should be
determined and tried to provide the best services and facilities. In order to make our users
satisfied with us and will come again to our archive in the future, we need to provide
something’s that really unique and suitable or comfortable for the users of the archive.

➢ Entrance Hall

The entrance hall is also known as the lobby or waiting area. According to Oxford Dictionaries,
the entrance hall means the room or space immediately inside the main door of a large or
grand building. This place is to welcome visitors and control the user access area.

Gallery exists to promote the archives' image and show to user some archival materials held
in there. Users can see if there is any special collection being kept there. For, example, in our
archives, we have special collections such as ‘Badek’, a short knife as a weapon with an ivory
hilt and sheathe. This is made by an elephant back then by the villagers. This item is only
available in the gallery for a certain period of time.

This is where security can monitor the movement of staff and visitors. Closed-circuit television
has been installed in every area in order to ensure the surrounding is in a safe condition. If
there are any suspicious things happens, security can take action immediately. All the
movement will be recorded in CCTV, and security officers must ensure the CCTV functioning
well.

Theatre hall that provided in our archives to support leisure teaching and learning because
our target audiences also include students. It also to ensure our mission and vision can be
achieved. Any researcher or organization want to use the theatre hall, they need to inform our
reception and fill in the form as permission to use it. It also required them to pay a rental fee
at an affordable price. This theatre hall can accommodate 112 people at one time.

Researchers constantly need to consult standard reference books, dictionaries and any
reference books related. Our archives do provide a small library that can accommodate
twenty-person and it is equipped with tables and chairs. It can accommodate twenty people at
one time.

A research hall is where the researcher can make further research or read on the archive
materials. The researcher needs to ask the supervisor or staff in charge of the research hall
regarding the procedure that they need to follow in the research hall. The researcher is not
allowed to bring out the requested materials from the research hall. They only can do it in
there. The research hall also provided for the ease and convenience of the researchers. It is
furnished with tables and chairs that can accommodate 48 people at one time. In the research
hall, it is equipped with a reception counter before entering finding aids room, finding aids
room, reference counter for temporary storage, temporary storage, discussion room, audio-
visual records reading room, large scale records reading room, computer reading room and
electronic records reading room.

It is a room that provides research tools to assist the researcher in finding information related
to archive materials. Card indexes, repertories and catalog of all kinds are indispensable to
the searcher. In a small repository, these can all be gathered together in the search room, but
in a large repository, it is much more convenient to devote a special room to them.

7.3 Storage Area

Achieve is a building for permanent preservation and the course storage area is a vital area
to store all the archival materials. Other than that, the storage area needs to be installed based
on the right procedure and practice in order to ensure all the archival collections being stored
based on their categories. In the storage area, it involves paper-based storage and special-
based storage. In our achieve we have two (2) paper-based records and six (6) special records
storage.

Basically, paper-based records stored a valuable document physically in a box such as
manuscript, diary, and other related. Paper-based storage does have its own temperature and
humidity so that it will preserve the materials from deterioration. Basically, the temperature for
the paper-based record is 50-55% meanwhile for humid 18-25 Fahrenheit but for paper
records storage does have three types which are long term cold storage for long term
preservation, limited access storage for occasional rapid and mixed up storage for processing
area, research hall and open storage. Each of these storages has its own temperature and
humidity.

➢ Special Records Storage

Other than paper-based records, there are also archival materials in different formats such as
microform, photography and others. The temperature for special records storage is 45-50%
meanwhile 16-24 Fahrenheit. Each of the special records needs to have their own room based
on its format.
