1.0 INTRODUCTION Institute of Engineering Mathematics (IMK) serves as the focal point for curriculum planning and monitoring of Mathematics and Statistics for all diploma and bachelor degree programs in engineering and engineering technology at UniMAP. We are dedicated to exemplary teaching and research spanning a wide array of disciplines. Within each discipline, we continually seek opportunities to bolster and elevate our subject matter, fostering exciting interdisciplinary research and pioneering teaching methodologies. Our areas of expertise encompass Engineering Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, and Operational Research. Our team of researchers and scientists actively engages in internationally recognized research across these disciplines, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in well-established fields and pioneering developments in emerging areas such as fuzzy modeling, computational intelligence applications, computational fluid dynamics, multi-characteristics quality control as well as other related problems. 1.1 Mission, Vision, and Objectives Mission Provide a High-Quality Education, Multidisciplinary Research and Service in both Fundamental and Advanced Mathematics Knowledge to Produce Competitive Individuals. Vision An Excellent Mathematics Institute Supporting the National Industrial Agenda in the Field of Engineering and Technology. Objectives 1) To offer Master and Doctor of Philosophy programmes in engineering mathematics, applied mathematics, pure mathematics, statistics, theoretical physics and operational research, and professional courses. 2) To become the centre for mathematics knowledge development through collaboration with local and international institutions in engineering and technology. 6 IMK ANNUAL REPORT 2023

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) A Master's degree in Mathematics / Engineering / Science / Computer Science/ Engineering Technology from any institution of higher learning recognized by the University Senate or any other equivalent qualification to Master's degree recognized by the University Senate.
