Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh dan Salam Sejahtera, Saya ingin mengucapkan setinggi-tinggi penghargaan kepada semua yang terlibat dalam menjayakan dan menerbitkan majalah kolej pada kali ini. Terima kasih juga kerana memberikan ruang dan peluang kepada saya untuk menyampaikan sepatah dua kata alu-aluan. Tahniah diucapkan kepada AJK Sidang Redaksi majalah kolej sesi 2022/2023 yang telah berusaha untuk muncul kembali dengan edisi yang terkini. Penerbitan majalah ini merupakan satu bentuk pengiktirafan dan perekodan tentang penglibatan serta kejayaan warga Kolej Tingkatan Enam Bandar Utama sepanjang tahun ini. Kejayaan penerbitan ini merupakan sambungan tradisi yang berlangsung selama ini dan memberikan makna yang besar kerana menerusi majalah kolej, kita dapat merakamkan peristiwa suka duka dan pahit manis yang mewarnai pengalaman warga kolej semasa berada di kolej. Saya pasti semangat juang dan dedikasi warga kolej dapat melahirkan generasi yang cemerlang dalam aspek akademik, kokurikulum dan juga sahsiah. Diharapkan agar usaha murni ini dapat diteruskan di masa akan datang agar ianya dapat menjadi kesinambungan ke atas kecemerlangan sedia ada. Selaut Apresiasi Yang Dipertua Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru Kolej Tingkatan Enam Bandar Utama (KTEBU) Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh Salam Sejahtera Salam Malaysia Madani Untuk warga pendidik, warga kolej, para pelajar, dan para ibu bapa dan penjaga yang saya hormati. Sesungguhnya, masa semakin pantas berlalu dengan meninggalkan pelbagai kenangan pahit dan manis bagi setiap seorang kita. Kenangan ini akan menjadi suatu pengalaman yang tidak akan dapat kita lupakan. Untuk itu, kenangan ini perlu dilakarkan dalam bentuk majalah bagi tatapan generasi yang ada dan baharu warga KTEBU. Pada kesempatan ini, saya mewakili ibu bapa dan penjaga pelajar kolej ingin merakamkan jutaan terima kasih yang tidak ternilai kepada semua pihak kolej iaitu daripada pengurusan tertinggi, warga pengajar, kakitangan sokongan, pekerja pembersihan hingga pengawal keselamatan kerana masing-masing telah memainkan peranan yang tersendiri dalam usaha menterjemahkan kolej ke arah yang lebih cemerlang. Saya yakin dengan pentadbiran yang jujur dan berwibawa akan mendapat kejayaan kepada anak-anak di kolej ini dalam akademik, ko-akademik, ko-kurikulum pada masa-masa akan datang. Saya berharap kerjasama daripada masyarakat setempat dapat memberi sokongan terhadap PIBG untuk menjalankan tanggungjawab yang diamanahkan. Tahniah dan syabas kepada sidang redaksi yang pastinya bertungkus lumus dalam usaha merealisasikan penerbitan majalah kolej bagi edisi ke-3. Yap Tong Yee 1. Did you feel relieve after finishing your STPM? Yes, after completing STPM, I have a sense of relief and accomplishment. 2. What made you choose STPM? Despite having unclear idea about which specific course suits me best, I want to challenge myself knowing that STPM course is difficult. 3. What did you do to prepare for your STPM? I followed a strict study schedule, sought guidance from teachers, revised consistently, and practised with past exam papers. 4. How did you manage all the stress while taking STPM? I spent most of the time with friends, listening to music, and watching sunsets. At present, I believe that there is no obstacle I cannot overcome.
5. Are you satisfied and happy with your results? Yes, obtaining a CGPA of 4.0 indicates that I performed exceptionally well, so I feel satisfied and happy with my results. 6. What did you do to fill up your free time while waiting for your results? While waiting for my results, I focused on myself and my family. I started learning various skills and explored future directions for higher education and career opportunities. 7. What will you miss most about this school? I will miss the supportive teachers, close friendships with my classmates and the challenging academic environment. 8. What are your plans after this? After completing STPM, I will wait for UPU admission result. I will also apply for scholarships that I so I can pursue my tertiary education without burdening my family. 9. If you are planning to continue studying after this, what course are you planning to take? I am interested in Finance and Computer Science; and I am still indecisive in which course to choose. Currently, I am still considering the best option. 10. Do you regret taking STPM and would you do it all over again? Oh, I never feel that way since that was my first option ever after completing SPM. The recipes of my success are hardwork and dedication, these two ingredients are really needed if you want to achieve great results in STPM. 11. Do you have any advice to share with your juniors? To my juniors, my advice would be, set clear goals, maintain a consistent study schedule, seeking help when needed, staying organized, staying focused on personal growth, and don’t be afraid of challenging yourself academically. Remember to take care of your well-being and enjoy the learning journey. Success comes from both hard work and positive mindset. Last but not least, all the best! ONG ZHI YEN 1. Do you mind sharing your STPM results? Oh sure, I managed to get 4.00 2. Did you feel relieved after finishing your STPM? Yes, definitely because after one and a half year of hard work, my effort paid off. 3. What made you choose STPM? At first, I applied for PSIMB which is teachers training college for primary school teacher. However, I did not get accepted and thus I chose to do Form 6 to further my education and enter into college. 4. What did you do to prepare for your STPM? I would repeatedly revise the syllabus a few months before each exam.
5. How did you manage all the stress while taking STPM? Of course I did feel stressed during the entire Form 6. To deal with stress I would listen to music as it calms me down. The melody just fills the brain and makes me relaxed. 6. Are you satisfied and happy with your results? Yes, I am. The results were better than expected. There were a lot of people that help me along the way. I would like to thank those who have helped me and never left my side along the way. 7. What did you do while waiting for your STPM results? Currently I am working part time. 8. What will you miss most about this school? My friends, the environment and the teachers as well. 9. What are your plans after this? I would start doing research in what course to pursue and at the same time, I’m hopeful that I would be able to further my studies in a university of my choice. 10. If you are planning to continue studying after this, what course are you planning to take? I would be interested in taking up Chinese language because I am really interested in the language. 11. Do you regret taking STPM? Definitely I do not regret it and I would definitely do it again. Because STPM helped me gain a lot of confidence as I did not know I could achieve such success. It also helped me grow as a person and proved myself. 12. Do you have any advice to share with your juniors? Set your own timetable and allocate time wisely as in Semester 2 there will be a lot of coursework. Revise the topics and syllabus for each subject months earlier before the exam to sharpen your knowledge. YONG MOONG TI 1. What class are you from? 6AUM4. 2. What was your STPM results? 4.0. 3. Did you feel relieved after finishing your STPM? Definitely. 4. What made you choose STPM? I wanted to take up the challenge and I wanted to see how far my capabilities were. Furthermore, STPM provides me a lot of choices and more pathways after I have completed it. 5. What did you do to prepare for your STPM? Most definitely a lot of studying but preparing yourself mentally for all the hard work is and the amount of effort you have to put in is really crucial. As long as you put your mind into it, you can achieve whatever you want.
6. How did you manage all the stress while taking STPM? That’s a very good question. There were definitely a lot of hard times but the best way to overcome it is by finding the most suitable coping mechanism for yourself and try not to pressure yourself too much. Do your best and give it your 100%. Therefore, everything will go smoothly. 7. What was your coping mechanism to overcome the stress? After a long day, sleep is really important. Avoid staying up late to finish your assignments and sleep early so that you can have a fresh start when you wake up in the morning. 8. Are you satisfied and happy with your results? Yes, even though it was very unexpected because I was really worried because STPM final results do not only reflect your grades it is a combination of all your marks for your papers. You would not know your final results until you actually get it. It was really nerve-wrecking. 9. What did you do to fill up your free time while you were waiting for your STPM results? I involved myself in online courses like digital marketing and working part-time. 10. What will you miss most about this school? My friends and teachers. 11. What are your plans after this? Pursuing my dream course in a university of my choice applying for scholarships. My desired university is USM because I really want to get out of my comfort zone and go to another state to get new experiences. 12. If you are planning to continue studying after this, what course are you planning to take? I’m planning to take Food Science and Technology course in USM. 13. Do you regret taking STPM and would you do it all over again? No. I would do it all over again. 14. Do you have any advice to share with your juniors? Don’t give up. Apakah yang membuatkan anda memilih STPM? Alasan yang pertama ialah saya tidak berminat untuk belajar di Kolej Matrikulasi kerana pilihan universiti yang terbuka kepada saya hanya dalam negara tetapi dengan STPM saya dapat melanjutkan pengajian ke luar negara. Sebagai contoh, Singapura. 4. Apakah yang anda lakukan sebagai persediaan STPM anda? Saya menyiapkan semua latihan yang diberi oleh guru-guru dan saya akan bertanya terus kepada guru jika saya kurang faham. Teknik menjawab juga penting bagi saya untuk memahami setiap soalan. 5. Bagaimanakah anda menguruskan semua tekanan semasa menduduki STPM? Saya suka bermain bola keranjang untuk mengurangkan tekanan. Saya juga suka membaca buku bukan akademik. 6. Adakah anda berpuas hati dan bangga dengan keputusan STPM anda? Ya. 7. Apa yang paling anda rindukan tentang kolej ini? Rakan-rakan. 8. Apakah rancangan anda selepas ini? Saya tidak akan melakukannya sekali lagi jika diberi peluang. 11. Adakah anda mempunyai nasihat untuk dikongsikan kepada junior anda? Pastikan anda faham dengan topik yang diajar oleh guru. Pastikan anda mahir mengenai teknik menjawab sesuatu soalan.

I did my revision one month before the exam. 5. How did you manage all the stress while taking STPM? Listening to music and taking a walk were the two things I did whenever I felt stressed. 6. Do you regret taking STPM and would you do it all over again? I never have any feeling of remorse taking STPM as it has given me opportunity to see things differently as a student. 1. How did you feel after finishing your STPM? I felt such a huge relief after all the struggles and difficulties I faced throughout my studies. Finally, I managed to complete my STPM. 2. What did you do to prepare for your STPM? My passion for education is the main source of my motivation. I really love pursuing knowledge. That passion drove me to put my best efforts into studying. 3. How did you manage all the stress while taking STPM? I looked at stress in a different perspective. I took it as my drive to do better. I cannot view stress as a hindrance for me to succeed. 4. Are you satisfied and happy about your results? Yes, I am very happy. All my hardwork has been paid off. 5. What did you do to fill up your free time while waiting for your results? I play some sports and some video games to relax my mind. I also pray to god in my free time because I am a man of faith. Everything I achieve is with God's will. 6. What are your plans after this? I would like to further my studies in something related to education. My friends and colleagues suggest me to become a lecturer. 7. If you are planning to continue studying after this, what course are you planning to take? I would like to further my studies in the education field that has something to do with economics or philosophy. 8. What will you miss most about this school? My friends. They played a big role during my whole STPM experience by sharing with me the true meaning of friendship. Growing up is also a learning process. When you learn about new things in life while growing up, you can learn new things about studies and other aspects. Your whole life is a learning process for you to be a better person. I am grateful to have such friends. 9. Do you regret taking STPM and would you do it all over again? I believe I made the right choice by taking STPM. I would not do it all over again because you only experience something once and you should not take this experience for granted. 10. Do you have any advice to share with your juniors? If you are doing something, you should give your 100%. For my Muslim juniors out there, you need to pray a lot and have faith in God because he eases everything as I believe prayers can move mountains.
