VOTING DAY Many of us dream of being part of something important. The MPTE of KT6BU is that something. Early this year, a group of students in our college were eager to be part of the college’s journey and growth. They sent in videos and posters to campaign to be the Top Exco of MPTE. The top positions included the President, the Vice President, the Secretary, the Vice Secretary, and the Treasurer. Time was of the essence and this group rose to the challenge by flooding the college’s Instagram page with their biographies and reasons for wanting to run for their respective positions. On the long-awaited day of the election, the 13th of April, the students experienced a rollercoaster of emotions as the students and teachers of KT6BU voted for the new Committee members of the MPTE KT6BU through an online platform. Even after all the votes were in, they had to patiently wait for the announcement to be made by the teacher advisors. Some were elated when the results were finally released while others were sad they did not get the positions they wanted. All in all, the election process went on smoothly. Congratulations to the winners of the MPTE 2022/2023 Election! INSTALLATION The installation of the new Exco of MPTE 2022/2023 was held in the ‘Bilik Persidangan Al-Farabi’ on the the 13th of April. The college’s top administrators and former MPTE members were invited to be witnesses to this special event. The event started with a prayer, followed by a speech by the college principal, Pn Badariatul Jamal binti Mohd Hasnan. In her speech, she highlighted the need to adopt a selfless attitude when called to serve. She advised the newly elected committee of the 2022/2023 MPTE to work as a family, even though there may be disagreements among members. Then, the former President of the MPTE, Adam bin Khairuddin took the stand. He passed on some words of advice to the newly elected President, Ch’ng Wu Thye. This was followed by, the new President who in his speech thanked the teachers and students for the trust they bestowed upon his shoulders. He vowed to try his best in living up to those expectations. As newly elected members of MPTE 2022/2023, we have the newfound responsibility to create a better environment in our college not only for the students but for everyone that steps foot in the college.
