Key checks and points for those without recognised qualification but with 3-5 years’
experience (CAT 3)

 Will need to attend a 2 day skills check assessment prior to starting the NVQ – £295 + vat
 Must be able to provide evidence of experience as employed or self-employed person
 Will still need to undertake all written and practical assessments that are part of the diploma

over a 10 day period in centre including the rainwater
 Will need to undertake the NVQ induction and briefing session before starting on the onsite

portfolio (day 1)
 Will need to provide onsite evidence for the Bathroom installation and Central Heating

Installation
 Will need to provide virtual access for the assessor to witness 2 jobs above
 Will need to undertake the WRAS Water Regulations separately (to get WRAS/WIAPS

Approved Plumber status)
 For this option we will include the plumbing manual and Clublogic

Key checks and points for those with a recognised L2 plumbing qualification from another
AO (CAT 2)

 Must provide copy of the certificate before they can be registered for the NVQ. Only a full
certificate will be acceptable, unit certificates cannot be accepted

 Will need to attend a 1 day skills check assessment prior to starting the NVQ – £195 + vat
 Will need to undertake two units that will not have been delivered as part of the RPL

certificate and practical assessment over a 5 day period
o Energy, Waste and Water Conservation
o Water Supply Regulations and Water Byelaws (different to the WRAS Certificate)

 Will need to undertake the NVQ induction and briefing session before starting on the onsite
portfolio (day 1)

 Will need to provide onsite evidence for the Bathroom installation and Central Heating
Installation

 Will need to provide virtual access for the assessor to witness the 2 jobs above
 Will need to undertake the WRAS Water Regulations Certificate separately (to get

WRAS/WIAPS Approved Plumber status)
