Happily Never After

happily never after 2

“HAPPILY NEVER AFTER”

And they lvived happily ever after
Through the power of “true love”
Oh how this sentence fills me with laughter
from their love... or lack thereof

Tis but a tragic tale
not many are aware of
The media omits this detail
For reasons of no avail
So what if I told you,
our heroines are hiding secrets?
That their love isn’t true
and everything is scripted?
Follow me, your humble narrator
let’s uncover hidden scenes
A truth is what I’ll deliver
of ugly love and everything in between.

Beauty and the Beast

A paradise for myself to attend.

Shared by none,

not even your shadow can transcend

Blooming

Growing

with time

Is it my love,
Or is it your crime?

ABUSE

Abuse is something everyone is familiar with yet
so vulnerable to.

Why is it that one out of three women and one
out of four men have experienced some sort of

violence be it physical or emotional by
their partners?

One thing that I realised is that the media tends
to highlight abuse as something we should

persevere in since everything will be fine in the
end. The media tells us that by being kind and
loving to our abusive partners, we can change

them into being a better person.
That is not the case in real life.
Real abusive partners take and take without ever
giving back. They suck out the victims life and
joy and leave an empty shell of what they

used to be.
Is this what we really want or is this just the

romantization of abuse that the media
places upon a pedestal?

Snow White

So in the lull of the moonlight,
I’ll savour my property
Frenzied and heavenly,
I hope you’ll forgive me..

LACK OF CONSENT

We were all taught consent at one point in time.
To ask our partners before engaging in

intimate acts, to not over-step boundaries and to
always make sure that our partners aren’t forced

to do what we want.
However, why is it that once marriage is in the

equation, the idea of consent becomes a
blurred line?

Just because you owe someone or because you
are married to someone means that they get to
do whatever they like. Consent is something
that should always be present in ever stage of a

relationship.
Why does the media, mainly music make lack of
consent to irresistable? And why do we take in

everything without much thought?
Next time before you say something is romantic,

take it with a grain of salt. You might just be
glorifying the wrong thing.
