Once upon a time, a goatherd boy was herding
goats near the forest not far from the village.
The people of the shepherd village are very
hardworking, caring and like to help each other.
The shepherd is Edy. Every morning, he would
take his sheeps to graze the grass.

1

That's Edy's job every day. One day, Edy felt
bored with his work. One day as he sat watching
the sheeps at the quiet forest, he thought of a
plan to amuse himself. So, Edy got an idea to
entertain himself. “ If I inform the village that
there are wolves here, people will come. Then I
will have a lot of people to talk to, and what
fun!,” said Edy.

2

Help!
Wolf!
Wolf!

He wanted to do it even if
there were no wolves
attacking his sheeps.
Without thinking, Edy
shouted as hard as he
could, "Help! Wolf! Wolf!” .
The villagers who were working ran to
Edy's sheep area. They asked where the
wolf was. Edy laughed happily at the
concern of the villagers. Edy told the
villagers that he was only joking. The
villagers went back to their work.

3

Edy thought it was fun.
The next day, Edy did it again. The villagers ran
to him when he shouted "Wolf! Wolf!" . But when
they got there, they found the boy laughing at
the trick he had played on them. The deception
that Edy thought was a joke made the villagers
feel a little angry and disturbed. The villagers
went back to their work.

4

Even so, Edy kept repeating his actions.
A few days later, the shepherd went about
his work as usual. He rested on a tree
watching his sheeps graze until late in the
evening.

5

Wolf !
Wolf !
Suddenly a wolf came out of the Help!
thick grass and bushes near where

the sheeps were, a wolf literally

jumped towards sheeps and started

chasing sheeps. Edy on the tree was

shocked and shouted loudly "Wolf!

Wolf! Help!", shouted Edy.

6

Even though the villagers heard the
screams, they didn't run to help him like
before. "He can't deceive us anymore," they
said. The villagers don't believe Edy's words
anymore. They thought it was just a trick.

7

The wolf leads the sheeps into the forest. The
wolf eats the sheeps that are there. Edy felt very
sad because his sheeps died eaten by a wolf. He
also felt sad and upset because the villagers did
not come to help him and his sheeps. Edy felt
sorry for his previous tricks against the villagers.
On that day, Edy realized that it was important
to tell the truth so that people would trust him.
