KAREN’S KORNER In This Newsletter

We’ve had a very hectic month, as always in December, Karen’s Korner
but this year we had the added extras of an Awards Animal Treats
Ceremony for some of the team and a ‘Tower Ballroom Kepplegate’s Christmas Card
Experience’ for our Kepplegate family. Another first was Birthdays
collecting Christmas treats to box up and send to send to Awards Ceremony
the animals at our local RSPCA. Christmas Parties
Tower Ballroom Experience
There were the Christmas parties in Hambleton and our Murder Mystery Evening
own here at Kepplegate for the family to enjoy and the Christmas Day
team’s night out this year was a Dickensian Murder Christmas Entertainers
Mystery at the North Euston Hotel in Fleetwood. There Dates for Your Diary
were three Kepplegate tables so the odds were quite good
of winning, but one of our teams were “super sleuths” &
won the overall evening…..I can’t tell a lie, it was the team I
was in!!!

Well, here’s to another successful
year at Kepplegate. Thank you for
your support and all our best wishes
for 2020.

TREATS FOR FURRY FRIENDS Members of the family helped to design the

BIRTHDAYS

John S celebrated his 90th on Christmas Eve. It was Olga’s birthday on

Christmas Day and Derek’s on the 27th. Congratulations to everyone. Team
birthdays coming up in January:- Charlotte W, Loraine, Dawn and Pauline.

Hambleton W I Party

As we reported in November, we were thrilled to be short-listed for The party season kicked off with a party in
one of the Wyre Business Awards. The room at the Marine Hall Hambleton. Lilia, Sarah G and Dawn
was beautifully decorated for the occasion and our team table was
all hyped up when the proceedings came to our category! accompanied eight members of the family
Unfortunately, we didn’t win….. but we learned a lot! It was the first and everyone enjoyed the hospitality of the
time we had entered and had only applied for one category, but we
realised that other companies entered multiple categories which W.I.
seemed to pay off as many came away with at least one trophy.
We’ll know next time!

KEPPLEGATE FAMILY CHIRISTMAS PARTY

The show must go on! That was Lilia’s attitude with her team when the entertainer didn’t turn up for our
Christmas Party. Lilia & Sarah G led the karaoke followed by the whole team, family and guests joining

in with an impromptu carol singing session.

TOWER BALLROOM EXPERIENCE
To celebrate the 125th anniversary of Blackpool Tower, the tower ballroom team offered
four care homes the opportunity to have a ballroom experience. Kepplegate’s application
was chosen from over 70 entries and just before Christmas Ali King, Ballroom Manager, and
her team arrived to entertain our family. First, there was a delicious high tea served from
cake stands, followed by everyone having fun as Ali demonstrated the Charleston and the
Cha Cha.

TEAM MURDER MYSTERY EVENING
Twenty-four of the team signed up for our Christmas ‘do', a murder mystery evening. Character actors strolled
around the tables being interviewed by guests and throwing out red herrings as to who was the murderer, as
well as songs being performed between each course of the meal. At the end of a very entertaining evening,
Karen & Steven’s was declared the winning team of detectives! The photo on the left shows an actor looking

over one of our tables.

Well done to Lilia & her team; the
tables looked wonderful ready
for Christmas lunch and Sarah G
produced a lovely meal. All the

family had a great day and some
were joined by their loved ones

to enjoy the festive lunch
together

We’re very grateful to our two local primary schools for coming to entertain the family in the run
up to Christmas and also to Pilling Band for dropping in to play a few tunes!
