Rahman Roslan

Rahman Roslan who is born in 1985 is a Kuala
Lumpur based Malaysian photographer who is known
for his artistic perspective in his work. He is known to
be one of the few young and emerging photographers
who has been able to exude art in this media from
Asia. Roslan is one of the youngest and most recent
artist of his time whose work has been used and
printed in major publications not only in the region
but throughout the world over. Currently a fulltime
artist and documentary photographer, Rahman
epitomizes what a photojournalist should be where he
let his work tells the story and convey the message.
His work has been published extensively, including in
Reuters, Agence France Press, European Pressphoto
Agency, TIME magazine, New York Times,
International Herald Tribune, Ojodepez, The National
UAE, Sutra Magazine, The New Internationalist, Berita
Harian Singapore and Strait Times Singapore. In his
personal capacity , he is currently investigating the
relationships between Islam and its impact on cultures
around South East Asia .
Education Background :
Rahman Roslan is a photojournalist based in Kuala
Lumpur, focusing on news and documentary
photography . He studied Interior Architecture for
three years at local private college before pursuing
photography. As a self-taught photographer, he
developed a very personal and sensitive style coupled
with strong aesthetics, and is constantly open to new
challenges.

From this picture what i can describe is it a sillhoette photography with a balance subject matter. Depth in the
photo shows blurry background and its focus on the kid. The picture is focusing on the kid that relate to the
emotion of the subject matter. From this picture it shows 1001 feelings and also mystery about MH 370. The tone
of this image used also relate with the feelings. I can see theres a hope shows by this kid wether he’s waiting for
his mother,siblings or others close family members. Eventho MH370 had been called off this year but our hope is
still there waiting for them to come back/ been found anywhere in this world.
